Can you please post your opinion on the Kanye/Kim vs. Taylor?

I am going to address this once objectively. I cannot and will not take the snapchat seriously. I don’t think the purpose of the snapchat was to clear Kanye’s name but rather to humiliate Taylor. This is manipulation at the highest level. If Kim had this video evidence for 5 months, WHY wait this long to release it?! WHY? The snapchat video filmed is poor quality and cut up into different pieces. Why didn’t they post the whole video if there is nothing to hide?! That video is completely unreliable and sketch AF. The ONLY thing that video proves is that Taylor heard the sex line and agreed to it hesitantly. I don’t understand why Taylor would agree to that knowing her fan base BUT when you listen to it, Kanye says the line as a joke in a casual manner. Kanye states repeatedly that they are friends and it’s cool which Taylor hesitantly (and stupidly if you ask me) believes. There is no way Taylor would have known that the line would sound so insulting. How would Taylor have known that after the sex line that Kanye would say he made her famous and call her a bitch? The FACT is Taylor NEVER heard the entire song. So I am really confused on why everybody is calling her a liar. This song would hurt anybody’s feelings and she has the right to feel bad about it. I know I wouldn’t be ok with someone talking about sleeping with me. This is partially on Taylor because she could have prevented this whole mess if she had been more upfront about it from the start. If you look at Taylor’s original statement on this, she did not lie. Taylor never denied there was a phone call BUT she did leave out details of the phone call. At the end of the day, Kanye NEVER played Taylor the whole song. How can you approve a song that you never heard??!!

I watched the entire KUWTK episode. Kim said she refused to talk to Taylor on the phone about it after Kris suggested it. Don’t you find it a bit weird that Kim’s mom doesn’t have a problem with Taylor? Kim is trying to sell her angle of the story. I also believe the reason why Kanye did include Taylor in “Famous” was for publicity. Notice how everybody talked about the song just because of that lyric? He was selling the song by mentioning her name. Would anybody even care about “Famous” if he didn’t name check Taylor in it?!

I am going to call it how I see it, Kim and Kanye played Taylor 100%. I cannot fathom why Taylor was so quick to trust these people. I am honestly not that much of a Taylor Swift fan but it just seems to me like people will look for any reason to put her down. She cannot win no matter what she does. It is a shame that people are so blinded by their hate for Taylor that they can’t see how sketchy this entire situation is. They suddenly forget that Kanye has a history for doing this kind of stuff. Look at his video for Famous? I don’t think Kanye has any respect for anybody but himself. If Taylor hypothetically did this for revenge (which I don’t believe at all). Can anybody say that Kanye didn’t deserve it?!

I myself am no longer a Kanye West fan because of his blatant misogyny. The guy is a serial misogynist. Remember when he tweeted “Bill Cosby Innocent” and “bitch is an endearing term”?! If you listen to his album “Life of Pablo”, you will know exactly what I am talking about. He has no respect for women whatsoever.

I am not taking any sides. This whole thing just seems sketch AF to me. I have this nagging feeling that we don’t have the full story. To answer some of my other messages, Taylor and her career will be fine. Taylor should learn to not be so trusting of other people. It’s the root of so many of her problems. All the best.

Thank you @tomi65463 you touched upon absolutely every aspect of this situation I have always believed to be from the start and just recently expressed with a mutual. What some people seem to forget is that Kanye started this shit circus when he jumped on stage with Taylor several years ago, and that’s when I lost any respect I had for him LONG before I knew anything about Tom! And he has milked this debacle ever since as for Kim’s credibility this is a woman who has built her “brand” if you can call it that,off of exhibitionism and narcissism ( they both deserve each other ) the irony of this is in the end this will come back and bite Kimye in the ass if they (and rightfully so) can be sued for this. And hopefully this will be a lesson for Taylor to trust her gut instinct about a situation, cause it seemed as tho something was telling her this was not right in the first place.

I’m hispanic and I live in a wealthy neighborhood. My mother is an international business woman, has her own cooperation in 5 different countries, and makes more than $500,000 per year. In middle school, we moved into this gated subdivision, and the houses in the area are mostly valued more than $700,000. When we moved into our new house, everyday I would go get the mail, and there would always be a $1 bill placed inside. I thought someone might have mistakenly put that in our mailbox. Everyday the dollar bill was placed there, and it clearly meant something. It was message saying it was uncommon for a hispanic family to be able to pay for living in the subdivision. That was the first incident of racism I experienced. The second was when my mother put me into a private catholic school in the town we moved into. The school was mostly caucasian, and I was probably the only hispanic in my grade. One day a boy was talking about how his room was always dirty, and then turned to me and said, “ Hey! Can your mom come clean my room, she’s, like really good at cleaning, right?” So I turned to the boy and said, “ She doesn’t even clean our house, its too big. But we have these 2 white ladies who come clean it every weekend. If your mom needs a job, she can come join them. They never finish on time.“

any obama heckler would have been kicked out. it isn't about her trans identity. there is a time and place for everything. it wasn't there and then.

Actually, it was about her being trans. Even if it wasn’t explictly, it was. There is more talk today about the conditions of undocumented immigrants (especially trans women) and the sexual assault/brutal methods of torture that occur against them in ICE cells today than the most of span of Obama’s presidency, so regardless of how you feel about the fact she interrupted him, Jennicet Gutierrez did something right.

I absolutely love how Bush can almost get smacked in the face with a shoe and that’s immortalized as one of the greatest moments in history (which it was), but when Obama is (rightfully) called out on his deplorable treatment of undocumented queer migrants, that’s not okay because that’s disrespectful. Do you know how many years undocumented LGBT immigrants have attempted to highlight the urgency of their cause? How long do they have to tolerate being ignored, abused and tortured before it no longer becomes “disrespectful” to openly call him out? How many nice letters and polite rallies and sweet petitions should Not1More organize and distribute before they get the green light from you? All of this has to do with your Obama bias and less to do with the ethics of activist reactions. Had this been any crusty archetypal GOP member, you all would have cheered Jennicet Gutierrez and deemed her Messiah of the movement.

When Obama’s mouthing off about the civil rights of the “LGBT” community, his narrative does not include her. It doesn’t include all the slain TWoC whose deaths are only discussed intracommunally. It doesn’t include all the poverty stricken youth who make up almost half of the homeless population in metropolitan cities. It includes exactly who you see in that audience. Predominantly affluent white cis gay men who have been granted every privilege and avenue of assimilation, besides the right to marry. When he’s invoking her identity to proverbially pat himself on the back for doing absolutely nothing, she has the right to say “hey, actually, you haven’t been showing up for my community. In fact, you’re singlehandedly the biggest threat to our livelihoods”.

Your priorities are warped and miserable. Obama and his cohorts, if they wanted to, could change the entire framework of immigration in this country. But that’s hardly his concern. He doesn’t care about the thousands of children in foster care because their parents were ripped away from them for none other than not being able to obtain arbitrary papers. It worries him none that trans immigrants (almost all of them being trans women) make up only one of every 500 detainees (which still includes thousands of people btw), but account for one of every five cases of sexual assault. Your precious POTUS will go down in history as the most vicious deporter in America’s history.

These numbers represent a person this administration could’ve assisted, but tacitly decided not to. Jennicet Gutierrez attempted to give more clarity to these struggles. I support her wholeheartedly and will not employ respectability politics to invalidate her. Shame on you if you do.
