Onedera was comfortable. She was a safe choice, predictable. She was good at making him happy. She never fought him; she never challenged him. She offered a calm contentment.
But he didn’t love her.
Chitoge was wild. She was dangerous, uncontrollable. She got under his skin and drove him crazy. She never backed down; she was overwhelmingly passionate. She apparently even liked someone else; she had nothing to offer him.
But remember, she drove him mad long ago. Though every ounce of logic would have pointed him another way; though Onedera had every perk he could ever want and Chitoge seemed to have nothing left to give… He didn’t care. He didn’t care about the perks, what a girl could offer him. He wanted Chitoge. Not because of what she had to offer him, but because of who she was. He wanted her, and nothing less.
Because he was madly in love with her.
And that’s something that mere happiness can’t hold a candle to.
