“You’d love that wouldn’t you?” He grins and mutters agreement about the games. He played a lot of the old Sega games when he was a kid. Josiah’s eyes drifted up and down his girlfriend’s body. She was truly something else. She made him feel like the luckiest guy in the universe. He wasn’t expecting Lura to take off so quickly. It took him a moment to realize they were starting before Josiah took off after her, hot on her heels. At least he had the advantage that he knew the layout of the house. If she was faster he could maybe take a short cut and get her.

“Do it for Halloween or Independence Day.” Lu didn’t know the full layout of the house. All she knew of was the library, Josiah’s room, the backyard, and the kitchen. She decided to head to the library. Looking at the piano, she got an idea. This was the movie room. Picture perfect and made for cheesy scenes. She hopped up on it and waited for Josiah to get there.

“I’m no Sonic the Hedgehog or anything.. but..whatever you want, Lura.” Josiah smiled at his girlfriend, taking in her adorable pout. “You are so fucking cute sometimes, you know? It’s hard to believe you can be so cute and so sexy and so badass all at the same time.”

“Spike your hair and dye it blue. You will get pretty damn close. Luckily old school Sonic has my heart. The new games are utter trash.” Lura sauntered up to him. “Sexy and badass...I can dig it. The cute is only reserved for you though.” Leaning over she whispered “Catch me if you can Josiah.” With that she ran out of the room.

Josiah’s eyes did not leave Lura’s body for a second. He barely blinked, trying to take in as much of his girlfriend as he could. Even though he’d seen her naked many times, it hadn’t lost its excitement. And besides, this lingerie was hotter than nudity in a lot of ways. “Man, you definitely aren’t making this easy. But you know me, babe, I’m always up for anything. But I run pretty fast..”

Lura resisted the urge to laugh. She was more of an athlete than anyone fully realized. She had strong legs and speed on her side. Lu pouted and said “Does that mean you’ll give me a head start? How fair would it be for me if you were to catch me instantly because you’re oh so fast.”

Josiah made a pouting face at her teasing, but he withdrew his hands. She was being so mean. “Nah. They’re hardly ever around.” He shrugged, his eyes moving up and down his girlfriend’s body. “I feel dumb just sitting here. What do you want me to do?”

This was the perfect situation. Lura got off the bed and slowly stretched, giving Josiah a full show of what she wouldn’t let him touch just yet. “Well that is just great. That means I can run around your house just like this as you chase me. If you can catch me then you can touch me all you want. What say you?”

“One day.” He murmured back before returning the kiss. Josiah’s hands rested on the hem of her shirt for a moment, hesitating for just a second. “I’ve never been more excited about a present in my life.” He said before pulling the shirt up deftly above his girlfriend’s head. His eyes widened because she looked even more amazing than he could have ever imagined. His breath caught in his throat and he hurried to remove the rest of her clothing. “Best present ever.” He whispered before kissing her, his hand moving across the fabric of her bra.

Lura was feeling quite playful today. Her type of playing usually does not end up in the guys favor. At the beginning anyway. Backing up, she lightly swatted his hand away. “I said you can unwrap me. No one said anything about touching. Hmm...are your parentals home?”

“I’m relieved you liked it. That was like, the dumbest thing I’ve ever done.” He grinned sheepishly before raising his eyebrows. “Ooh, my present. I can’t wait.” Josiah rubbed his hands together, eagerly waiting for Lura to show him.

“By dumbest you mean cutest. You’ll thank me for it one day.” She kissed him softly before taking his hands and putting them at the hem of her shirt. “It’s a present which means you get to unwrap it Josiah Li.”

“Because it wasn’t your fault. I can beat up your dad if you like.” Chuckling as he brushed his hand through her hair. “It’s okay.” Gross expressions of emotions was never his thing, but with Lura and her confession he felt an odd mixture of anger and deep sadness. It was weird to know this now, their relationship from this point was going to be completely changed.

“Now that is a fight I would love to see.” She smiled through her tears. It was the little things that were making her feel better. Like having him brush his hand through her hair. That was one of the things that just made her feel super comfortable with a person. Never in a million years did she picture this moment with Raf. He wasn’t the type of person who dealt with this. As Lura wasn’t the type of person who shared deep shit like that on a whim. It changed their relationship. In what way, she did not know. Her sobbing slowed but she still held onto Raf. At the moment he was the only person keeping her sanity in tact. “This is so ridiculous. We go from kissing to crying and comforting. There’s something wrong with this picture.”

“Okay.” Josiah paused for a moment, trying to come up with something. He smiled to himself when he did. “Oh Allura, if I was a cat I would purr-a, because around you I feel so happy. I know this is a little sappy. But I know you like it, so just sit–and listen to my silly song. I’ve liked you all along. Now I call you my mare, because I really care, and I love this thing we’ve got between us. I hope neither of us gets hit by a bus. I’m bad at rhyming if you couldn’t really tell…I hope you’ll still show me what you’re wearing even though I can’t sing really well.” He stopped and let out a soft laugh, kind of embarrassed by everything he’d just sang and how lame it was.

Lura had a huge smile on his face as he gave his little performance. “Oh my....Josiah Li I freaking adore you. That was silly and heartfelt and now you get to see your present.” She was excited to show him what she was wearing. Hopefully he enjoyed it. If he didn’t then he must be broken.

He couldn’t even begin to fathom why, let alone how someone had let her believe that for so long. For a moment he was angry at her parents, and at her friends but soon realised that the anger was too late and pointless because there was nothing he could do about the situation. He had found out too late and was now dealing with the aftermath. “It’s fucked up that no one else has told you that, especially when you needed to hear it the most.” Squeezing her hand, he wrapped his arms around her. “It’s okay.”

“Why would they? Some part of my dad thinks it was my fault. He wouldn’t even look at me when he found out. It took a while for our relationship to get back to a semblance of normal. Everyone else...I don’t know.” Lura found herself wrapping her arms around Raf. She felt closer to him now that he knew everything. Lu tried not to cry but soon found herself sobbing. In an emotional situation like this what else was there to do?

“So far being the key words there.” Resting Genie on Lura’s bed, he turned to face the closet and crossed his arms as he concentrated, trying to think what the gift could possibly be if it was locked away so tightly. “A safe? Oh shit, it must be some cool shit.”

Turning to face her, the expression on his face mimicked something of boredom and impatience. “You know I have no hope in hell in guessing what this gift is, please put me out of my misery.”

“Sorry I can only put so much faith in humanity.” She shrugged. As a human he was bound to fuck up sooner or later. It’s in their nature. “Cool doesn’t even begin to describe it.”

Lura sighed and opened the safe. She pulled out a velvet bag containing a magnificent and expensive first edition of Anna Karenina. Holding it out to him she said “You’re lucky I like you. Congrats Sylvestorm.”

“Should I make one up or sing one that already exists?” Josiah clarified, wanting to go about this right. He was more concerned about unwrapping his present than singing but he would play by the rules.

“Make one up.” She said without a second thought. Lu thought it would be fun to see what Josiah comes up with. What’s under her clothes is worth some extra effort.

“I could try to teach you if you want.” Josiah smiled when Lura told him she was hot as fuck under her clothes. He didn’t argue because he had a feeling she was wearing something from Victoria’s Secret. At least that’s what it sounded like from what she told him before. “Mm, how do I prove that I’m ready?”

“I’d like that.” She sat up and smiled. “Sing me a silly love song then unwrap me like a present.” Lura was feeling playful. Must be something in the water or the simple fact that she was starting to just feel great about life and everything.

“If I fuck up, I fuck up. I don’t think I will.” There was something special about coming to terms with his relationship with Belle. It was very subtly but very much so different between them now. He could commit, he could give himself to her when he couldn’t before. The relationship had always felt like it was Belle giving more to Alfie and now he felt like he could give some of his love back to her. “I’ll sleep a lot easier now. Thanks Lura, I don’t deserve that… but thanks anyway.” He moved to give her a hug then realised that he was carrying a child and rolled his eyes as he walked towards Lura’s home. 

“Trust me, you’re not the only one. Cindy has them stockpiled like she’s prepping for nuclear war.” Turning his head back, he smiled, he was like a child being lead to a christmas present that seemed too big to fit under the tree. “Can’t you just tell me what it is?”

“I don’t think you will either. You’ve been a good boy so far.” Lu and Alfie were very much alike. That’s probably why their friendship just worked so well. Most of the time anyway. “You’re still my best friend. So in my mind you deserve the world. Only because I care of course. Also I cannot tell you. That would ruin the surprise.”

Once home she escorted Alfie to another room which was her massive closet. “Okay before I open this safe, you get three guesses. You will probably be wrong but for shits and giggles just do it anyway.” She gave him a cheeky smile. Now way in hell would he be able to guess what the present was.

Rarely was Raf happy to find out someone was dead, and it was only in exceptions like this that he was. “None of this is your fault.” he shook his head, refusing to believe, let alone accept the words coming out of her mouth. “It was all on him, you shouldn’t have to regret wanting something, or doing something because of some creep.” When Raf asked that question, in all honesty he had expected her to say that she had a bad break up, or someone cheated on her. He didn’t expect to hear this in a million years. “You can’t blame yourself like that, you just can’t Lura.”

“I’ve tried to convince myself of that for years. You’re the first person to ever tell me that it’s not my fault.” Everything from the past shaped who Lura was now. It caused her to take control of who she was and what she wanted to do with her body. She took the good things in with open arms. All the dark and dreary turned into nightmares and blaming herself. “Rafaele thank you. I just....it’s hard. When a series of unfortunate events happens to you and those around you it feels like you were the spark that ignited a fire.” As tears threatened to fall from her eyes she laughed. “Oh hell no. This is not happening. I’m so sorry you have to witness this mess.”
