"Vanessa’s eaten ice cream with me before, but that’s the only time I’ve ever seen her eat. I think it’s just a case of you, don’t get hungry so you have no need for it."
Ally shrugged and sighed. "Well, I haven't been hungry for a year or so. I have cravings though but not hungry."
"It’s more afraid of you than you are of it"
"Eh? Yeah, I guess. If it lives."
"You’re very focused on that bacon."
Ally looked up at the girl and put her gaze back down the bacon. "I just... I don't know if I can eat that or not."

Laughing at her reaction, she raised her hands in mocked of defense. "All yours." She said and shrugged. "I'm not sure if I can eat. I mean, I'm dead. My body won't be able to produce enzymes that will break down my food."
Langston walked up to the bacon and picked it up, popping it into his mouth. “If you’re gonna eat it next time then do it.”
Ally's eyes widened when he put the bacon in his mouth. She knew that the guy was a ghost so she was really curious. "What? H-how?" She tilted her head, sort of waiting if the food will go through his body or not.
With her arms cross over her chest, Ally painfully looked at the bacon on the table.
"You’ll get used to it after awhile. I’ve just been here long enough to feel content with it. Which is maybe not awesome, but I just try to distract myself to get through the days really. I’m Shaun, nice to meet you, Ally." He smiled and nodded.
"Not trying to sound a little but getting use to this seems like to be the only choice we have." Ally laughed a little. "Nice to meet you as well, Shaun. I would offer a handshake but I don't think it really works for us. Does it work for us?"
"I feel like a completely brand new person here. It’s easy to forget who I used to be, until I’m alone again. So yeah, fake it until you make it."
"Fake it till you make it." She said with certainly, with a hand flurred in the air. "I'll take that as an advice. Can I ask you a really weird question though?"
"I never hide from Vanessa, but I don’t always feel the need to burden other people with my problems. Those I love, get to know what’s going on behind my smiles. I just don’t feel the need in making things awkward or having people treat me differently, a lot of people in here feel that way too."
"Good thing you're good at faking, then." She nodded in understanding. "I think, it's also because it's easier to forget about your problems when you're with those people...or ghosts."
"I’m in the program." he rubbed a hand over his chin, "What I’m saying is that we hide what we feel we need to to protect ourselves. It’s complicated, but it doesn’t make us bad people. Just… recovering."
"What did you do, huh? Chase a goose a d feathered it alive." She joked and playfully punch his shoulder but then, her knuckles went through. "I see," she said as she rubbed the back of her neck. "But don't you think it's better if you show what you really feel so we know, or the people would know how we can recover better. But I guess, that's the modern way to deal with this. I think I get what you mean. I've been hiding for more than a year, trying to protect myself and the ones I love."
"It’s probably just this place." he found himself laughing, because it was ironic; all of these people had gone through hell and yet they were some of the nicest people around. "It’s probably all the suffering we’ve gone through. But I do think a lot of it’s fake, we’re all fake to some extent."
"True. This place has some sort of pull. Well, in my case, I'm from here so there's that. I mean, this is home. Are you from here too?" Ally tilted her head, curious. "Hmm, so like, you're saying some of the suffering we experience are self-inflicted? Like, I don't know, it's some pretense just to get something from it?"

She shook her head. "No. Singing to a baby is the best prenatal brain exercise for the baby. It stimulates her brain function. If anything, your baby has more chances of being a smart. Unless maybe if it's like, heavy metal."
"Well, you’re welcome. I’m sure one of the other ghosts around you can help you with this whole business. It’s not exactly my area of expertise. But they lift things and read books. So I’m sure they can figure something out for you." He nodded at her before he left.
Autumn titled her head ever so slightly at the unfamiliar face, a soft smile appearing on her lips. “The danger is very appealing to most humans that work a nine-to-five job. I don’t believe we’ve met. Have you been in town a while and just hidden away?”
"Oh, they do. It's an innate characteristic of them that goes out at some point of their lives." Ally smiled back at the girl abd then she blinked, not sure what to answer her. "Uhm, yeah, sorta. I grew up here in Havenwood. Hidden away? I'm... Well, in a way. I guess I am. Well, I was."
"I’ve tried a lot of different things, but I’m still here. Maybe I’m not doing something right, but I haven’t figured out how to get out of here yet. There’s one girl who thinks that maybe it’s because people are still mourning us, but I don’t know." For him nothing had worked out at all and he just wasn’t sure what to do. "I don’t mind it. People are pretty cool so they make it a little easier sometimes."
"We just got todeal, I guess." She shrugged and then suddenly missed the feeling of sighing heavily. "I mean, I gotta deal. It seemed like you are dealing with it fine. I'm Ally, by the way."
"It’s cool… I’ve probably been playing too long anyway, what time is it?"
Her instinct made her looked at her wrist then she swallowed hard as she remembered that her killer took it as well from her before he left her lying on a cold alley. She cleared her throat. "Uhm," she looked on the wall clock. "It's uhm... It's fourteen after nine.
