Byahe on the Weekend
Recently my dad's friend gave him Noel Cabangon's album Byahe. And we (or I have) been listening to it nonstop every weekend. In fact, as I am writing this, we are playing it in the car.
This album is a perfect nostalgic experience. Almost every Filipino knows the songs in this album. These songs are classic and brings so many memories to its listeners. I may not have dedicated one of the songs to someone or serenaded it to another person which one might have done in their time but these played as I grew up. It's so natural to know these songs and it truly screams Filipino.
The weekend is a time for relaxation and listening to "Byahe" is a great way to compliment it. I usually play this in the background while I continue on with my homework. It helps me to take my time and clear my mind. But I end up singing along to it preventing me to finish early.
It's a break from K-pop tunes. I listen to a lot of foreign artists particularly Korean singers. But I still know my local songs. Listening to "Byahe" reminds me that from all the influences we have on music, we still have our own original great songs.
This album was released in 2009, so if you don't know it already, like me, then go give it a listen. It never fails to lift my spirits up so I hope it will make you happy as well.
Stay safe.
Good Ol' Hugs
Hugs are the most comforting thing ever. How did they even invent this? Like “let’s touch bodies as a form of a nice gesture”. That sounded..quite wrong, but basically that’s what it is.
If you give or receive hugs on a daily basis then it shows how many people you are important to you. It is very comforting to know that you can just walk up to that person and hug them. It shouldn’t be a sexual thing, it is a beautiful gesture showing your care for another person.
Hugs for me are quite rare. So when I realize that I am hugging a person, I immediately think “Everyone! This is my good friend right here”. This expression of affection shows the people that you cherish and value them.
This is just an insight that I had. Haha. But hopefully I can give more hugs to my friends and family. And you should too! It brings our hearts closer, literally.
Here is a video on how to hug perfectly by Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort <3

Multiply by Ed Sheeran
I didn't know Ed Sheeran was going to release a new album. But when I heard about it, I immediately got Multiply. His first album was so good that I was confident of his second one. I didn't need any preview just so I can decide whether to get it or not.
And he did not disappoint. Hearing the first tune of the first song, you already know that it is an Ed Sheeran record. He has this acoustic, sweet, and simple beats that goes very well with his lyrics and voice. He doesn't need that many instruments just to showcase how good of a singer he is. Drums and a guitar--so simple yet makes the most beautiful songs.
Ed once again exhibits his talent in singing and songwriting. His lyrics can be simple and complex but either way, it shows a lot of emotion. You can feel so many "feels" in his songs and that makes it really beautiful.
My personal favorite would be Thinking Out Loud. This song is such a shout into the void. He professes his unconditional love but at the same time you won't really see or feel it as it has not happened yet. His raspy voice screams his lyrics of love and promise. And it is such a beauty.
You will not get bored of the melodies of his songs. Even though they share the same style, his songs are distinct from each other. Not like other artists whose sounds are practically the same with every song. Ed's records are playful and sweet at the same time. It makes him such an ideal guy.
So yeah, if you want to fall in love (or fall asleep) get Ed's new album, Multiply.
Stay safe.
Storytellers
Good day!
I am on Youtube for a number of hours just watching random stuff here and there. And I do enjoy a good quality video. One where it has a story, great cinematography, and good direction. Here are some who I have enjoyed their stories.
Wong Fu Productions
First of all, the cinematography of their videos is excellent. They are very smart in terms of direction and screenplay. The dialogues in their videos are really quotable. They can make dramas to comedies. And recently they started filming for their movie! It is exciting to see them venture into a more bigger scale. I wish great luck and more success to them.
KickThePj
PJ Liguori is one creative guy. I wonder how he makes his stories, how his mind works, and how he creates this weird characters that are so vivid. I admire him for his patience and his love for his craft. He is very passionate towards his work making his films even better. And I love how he uses everyday objects which gets me inspired to make crafty things. You can make anything out of folders and cardboard boxes. Yes he gets sponsored but he uses it so as to not change how he usually films. He sticks to his style but still experiments on different techniques.
Now I am in search of more Youtubers who I can get inspired and get entertained. How about your favorite storytellers?
Stay safe.
Starting Over Again
Good day! I am Dana.
This is my third attempt at blogging. I can say I am disappointed at myself because I always start good and then give up later on. Time management, school works, and creativity blocks are what usually hinders me from working.
But now! I shall write more. Actually, over the summer I watched a lot of Korean dramas. So now, my Engrish is pretty messed up. I was influenced with their English grammar that I forgot the formality in writing. I hope through this blog I can enhance my writing and hopefully develop this as a skill.
I have learned that not all text posts should be long. Write what is enough and understandable. I always worry on how readers would react to certain topics but I guess I'll never know until I write it. I'll just think of whatever and build up from there.
I shall not make promises but I will create goals that can be done. Wish me luck!
Stay safe.
