Metate Trail in the San Bernardino Forest 🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃 Got to learn a little about the Serrano Indians that traveled into the mountains to hunt, and gather acorns & pine nuts during the summer & fall seasons. Metates (Spanish for a flat stone) were used for grinding, and morteros (spanish for mortars) are the holes in the granite that were used to crush acorns.
