Aren't you a little old to be wanting to go to Glove World?
âŠYes.
Yes I am.
you're not the hero anyone should want but the one alola deserves
?????
??????????????????????????
Be honest. Did you really know how to play that flute or were you just winging it the entire time.
I mean, one time in elementary school they all made us learn the recorder in music class.
Itâs not that much different, right?
why did you ruin a perfectly good sandwich
why canât you mind your own beeswax mixter anon
What do you like to do in your downtime?
âMy mom bought me a Switch the other day for my birthday. Iâve been playing PokkĂ©n tournament nonstop!â
âIâve also been practicing my Mantine surfing recently. Mainly at night âcuz I get swamped with crowds of people during the day. Iâm tired then, but itâs worth it.â
so now that you've gone through all that work becoming champion, have you considered ditching the title just like all other kids do
Moonâs just gonna stare at you judgmentally.
Abandon her position after working this hard? What do you think she is, a video game protagonist? Ugh, the nerve of some people. If she werenât so gosh darn polite, she might just have a finger with your name on it.
Right In Front Of My Sandwich? [Moon + Anzu]
pavbackâ:
This was just great. Just spectacular.
In a fit of rage, she kicked the ground with the toe of her boot, attempting to clean it off as much as possible. But the ground was soft and only made it worse when blades of grass and dirt stuck to the jam. The first pair of boots she bought for herself in over a year, and they were already ruined by some kidâs lunch after barely a week of wearing them.
The worst part of it all? This trainer didnât even apologize for her carelessness. The ever familiar fearful look was present in the girlâs face, but instead of saying so much as âIâm sorryâ, she just started waving her hands around. What on Earth was up with that? It only made her more annoyed.
âHey! Donât ya have anything to say to me, kid?â Anzu raised her voice. Her hand reached down to the top of the girlâs hat, tilting her head upwards enough for her eyes to meet her cold glare. âAt least take a little responsibility for your actions.â
It wasnât working.
Moon could tell from the womanâs expression that she didnât understand what she was saying. She had Homura in the ball right there, if only she could reach over and--- nope!! Apparently that wasnât happening, because now her head was being pushed back so she could look up at the trainer and oh god oh god she really did not want to be manhandled right now abort abort abort!!!
And so, without any other option at hand, Moon screamed.
Within the chaos of her mind, she thought she heard a PokĂ© Ball crack open and a bird-like shrieking sound in response. Before she knew what was happening, the distance between her and the other trainer grew as she was shielded by a large tan wing. The comforting scent of fresh herbs followed, and Moon looked up. âAh-?â
Artemis had freed herself from her ball and had drawn Moon close to her chest as if she were a newly hatched Rowlet herself. The Decidueye locked the other woman dead in the eyes and let out a warning bark.
All Moon could do was hold onto her Pokémon tightly and close her eyes, frantically humming as she tried to get back to reality.
A fond celebration for the newest member of our Pokemon League! I hope everything goes well on your special day, champion. Unfortunately I had not the time to prepare a gift, but if you ever find yourself within the Indigo League. Please feel free to stop by, and I may be able to bestow upon you a wonderful gift. - Lance
Oh
Moon had had a long day of birthday-related celebrations with friends and family when she had received this final message from⊠Lance? The KanJoh champion?
She just had to go say hello! That is, when she wasnât so busy herself after all.
What was this gift, anyway...?
"Hey, it's been a while. I meant to give this to you a while ago, after you became the champion, but better late than never I guess." Mina handed the trainer the finished portrait of her with the Vast Poni Canyon in the background. "Happy birthday!"
Gasp! A portrait, painted by none other than Mina herself? She shouldnât have!
Thank you so much! This looks amazing! Moon let Homura do the talking as she stared at the painting, large dark eyes blinking rapidly. Every detail of the portrait looked perfect, from the sun rays reflecting off of the canyon walls to the pompom of her Pinap Hat swaying in the breeze.
Better late than never, she signed in agreement, tucking the portrait under her arm. This was gonna go up in her room right away.
Right In Front Of My Sandwich? [Moon + Anzu]
pavbackâ:
She picked the wrong time to pay a visit to Driftveil. The streets were overcrowded with trainers, their PokĂ©mon, the press and spectators alike. Anzu had to bite her tongue every time some trainer bumped into her or when someoneâs kid got right in her path. At one point, she accidentally stepped between a news reporter and a cameraman filming for the tournament taking place here.
How was she supposed to know the Pokémon World Tournament was happening right now? Other than from the billboard advertisements, the posters plastered all over Join Avenue and the coverage that was on nearly every public access channel on television. Not to mention the number of people who were talking about it non-stop. How on earth could she have forgotten?
This wouldnât be so annoying if the person she came to visit hadnât run off somewhere without warning, defeating the main purpose for her trip. And to continue her great stroke of luck, the drawbridge that connected Driftveil to Nimbasa just decided to malfunction mid-rise. This wasnât much of an inconvenience for people with flying types or other ways to get across. But for Anzu, it meant she was stuck here until they could fix it.
Thankfully, the lack of people coming into Driftveil meant there was more space for her to breathe in the small park between the bridge and the city. Watching flocks of Ducklett fly over the water would help take her mind off of these shitty circumstances. But the collision of a young trainer quickly snapped her out of the brief state of calm she was in.
âJeez kid!â Anzu barked at the young girl, lacking the proper judgment to restrain herself from yelling at a child. âWatch where youâre go-â
She looked down to her feet, noticing the red jam and peanut butter that painted the sole of her boot. How frustrating. So frustrating, she could scream and make a scene.
Oh no.Â
Oh nooooo.
Ohnoohnoohno.
This was the opposite of good. Sheâd made this lady super upset and now she was going to pay for it.
Moon tried to get the words out, tried to wrench out that Iâm Sorry, but it was all in vain. She could already feel her throat constricting rapidly, and her hands followed suit. They grasped around her neck, trying to at least ensure she could still breath. It wasnât much use; her face was bright red and she already looked either on the verge of tears or choking.
Moon may have been a lot of things, but most of all? She was only twelve.
As soon as she could breathe again, her hands began signing rapidly. Iâm so sorry please donât yell at me I didnât see you there it was an accident please donât be mad please ran off her hands with each passing second, her heart pounding at the same speed. Her hands were so fast and clumsy that she wasnât sure if the lady was going to know what she was saying.
This was bad.
Like, super bad.
â...â
Morning, Nat Park. Guess whoâs birthday is today?
If you guessed Moon, youâre right. Happy birthday, Alolan champ.
Right In Front Of My Sandwich? [Moon + Anzu]
@pavback
The PWT was on its lunch break, and that meant one thing.
Time for Moon to evade the press.
Sheâd sat herself down on a bench in Driftveil City, her clammy hands clinging tight to the peanut butter and Cherubi jelly sandwich and the juice box sheâd picked up earlier. Her head was down and hat was off as she kept a low profile, eyes darting left and right to make sure she was really alone.
Was Moon being paranoid? Yes, but the amount of questions and photos sheâd been posing for as soon as word got around she was the highly-anticipated Alolan Champion... she couldnât handle it! She had to talk for all those interviews, and it was one time too many. Moon needed a break. She missed Lillie, and her mom, and Kukui.
She missed home.
Moon finished her juice box and went to throw it in the trash can, still looking at her feet. As she turned around, however, she immediately collided into somebody, dropping her sandwich onto the ground. Moon staggered back and looked up at the face of a very, very angry young woman.
Oh no.
Homeward Bound [Moon + Lillie]
gildinglilliesâ:
Lillie felt a small twinge of guilt at the mention of her brother and Guzma, two people she should probably visit during her trip in Alola but hadnât exactly made plans to see. She pushed that feeling aside as best she could, deciding that she could worry about them another day. Right now, she wanted to focus on spending time with Moon.
âIâm ready to go to Lanakila now!â She wasnât put off by the prospect of the chilly mountain air, in fact she was already anticipating the refreshing contrast from the warmth of the beach. She was also looking forward to hearing Moonâs voice again. Not that sheâd forgotten what it sounded like, of course, but there was nothing quite like hearing it in person.
She leaned over to get a closer look at Moonâs ride pager. She had been a little disappointed to learn that they didnât have Ride Pokemon in Kanto, so she might as well enjoy them during her visit.
âSo, which button do you push to call Charizard? Can it really take us all the way to the top of the mountain?â
Lillie seemed excited to join in Moon on her ride pager, and Moon didnât exactly blame her; after all, Kanto still hadnât implemented their Ride PokĂ©mon program yet.
Were they even planning on doing so? That was a question for another time.
Moon pointed at the button next to the little Charizard insignia and smiled. Yeah, it takes me just about everywhere! Even the Altar if I need to go. She tapped the button with her index finger and eagerly watched as the pager pinged its confirmation.
Within moments, the Charizard flew down to meet the two girls. Moon mounted on its back; then, she reached a hand down to Lillie.
She didnât need to sign anything. The look in her eyes already said it all.
Ready?
I still feel that warmth from her held hand Somewhere beyond this sentimental dream
