been wanting to do more backgrounds again, so i thought it'd be fun to revisit maragret's garden and think about what i would change/add in terms of items and detail, since ofc in the comic itself i couldnt go too overboard, as i'd be drawing multilple panels lol. here's what i came out with!

and with that last update, we've come to the end! thank you so much everyone for reading, seeing your likes, reblogs and comments on the comic, and seeing people connect with the story and characters has been really encouraging and uplifting! seeing the same people regularly pop up has really warmed my heart

this is the first time i've completed a solely original (so, non fandom) project, and it's been really nice to see people enjoy that! the comic has quite a few inspirations; hollow knight, steven universe, lord of the rings, and what remains of edith finch, to name a few; and it's also a tribute to my late grandparents, in a way. but my main motivator was to take the sort of premise and story you might get in an indie game, and let the characters live at the end. light's 'we get to live' during the finale is the thesis statement, the core theme, and i really enjoyed sharing that with you!

i'd also like to thank my best friend sam for blazing the comic every month, they're the person who made it possible for so many of you to even see the comic at first! (since y'know, tumblr isn't going to promote a small art project on its own lol). they have their own comic, filling the void, an ongoing webcomic about how the villains of super paper mario came together. it's basically the fionna and cake of the paper mario fandom lol, and takes inspiration from things like the adventure zone and undertale. it's written so you don't actually have to know the source material to understand it too, so if you want a story about love, depression, and found family, i'd highly recommend!

in terms of if there's anything next, wizard, light and the gang's stories are done. but if you like and want to see more of my art, i'd invite you to look at

my mario galaxy blog- this is an archve of where i drew every single galaxy in both of the mario galaxy games! lots of landscapes that get a lot better with time lol

my main- this is obviously a hodge podge of many fandoms, but this is also where all my art goes regardless, lots of ocs, indie game fanart, and other fanart. i reblog a lot of other peoples art, generally mario, pokemon, outer wilds, star wars, and currently disco elysium. minors tread with caution however, as i sometimes reblog suggetive posts. this is very much a blog for me above all else, but i am a dilligent tagger

my ao3- if you like the comic's writing and themes i explore, particularly grief and learning to live again through that, i'd definitely recommend my hollow knight fic 'lost and found' and my pokemon violet fic 'something to believe in'! there's also some other one shots there. in the future i'll be posting my star wars the clone wars fics there too, which will also include those types of themes. these will however be the distant future since i have two fics, and they're both essentially [checks notes] uhh 6 books long lol. i have the first "book" of each done, but i probably won't get to posting until i'm at least halfway. this is where the vast majority of my creative work will be going in the coming years.

this was originally gonna be the last batch of concept arts for a long walk home! then i remember i did none for the prologue kjfnkjs, so that one will be a bonus

anywhere, here’s more of lunaris; wizards coven (family home, a little worse for wear) and the temple that is their and lights destination
