“I was a bit of a loner before I had her. I wasn’t a social person. I stayed away from people because I thought that everybody had a plot or a scheme. But she’s taught me how innocent people are when they start out. I mean, sometimes she’ll butter me up because she wants candy or a cookie. But then other times she’ll just hug me for no reason.”
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

21 things black men don’t hear often enough
1. I love you bro. We don’t tell each other as men how much we mean to each other. There is no weakness in that. Only strength, solidarity, and power.
2. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to commit to getting better.
3. Someone is depending on you, to be exactly who you are.
4. Read more. You have time to read 12 books a year (which is more than the average American). We also aren’t average.
5. Showing and sharing your emotions isn’t a sign of weakness. Paying attention to how we feel helps us become more in tune with what’s actually going on.
6. Your mental health matters. You can’t “work yourself” out of your mind. Emotional trauma is very real and worthy of our time. We’ve been through a lot recently.
7. Living is an act of resistance. You are going to live, get out all these dreams, and thrive – despite the odds.
8. You are a descendent of kings. Seriously, don’t bow your head to life. You were built for this.
9. Their opinion won’t pay your bills, or build your dreams. They won’t always see your vision. Not everyone is supposed to.
10. Failure isn’t a tattoo. Learn how to take the Ls and move on. Adapt and overcome.
11. Getting this money, and doing good, aren’t mutually exclusive. You just have to be clear on your non-negotiables and stand by them.
12. You don’t have to ask for permission to be excellent. Go for it.
13. “Everybody eat’s b” – Ace Boogie. Seriously, we can all get what we want to out here. Helping people doesn’t make you a sucker. Do have boundaries though.
14. There is absolutely nothing wrong with working for someone else (even if you’re from Harlem), but it pays to think like an owner. Signing the front of a check is very different than the back.
15. #BLACKLIVESMATTER
16. If someone knocks you for your 9-5, they (1) aren’t your friends and (2) they don’t know about your 6-10. Keep going.
17. Start owning when you can. Pay yourself first. These loans ain’t loyal.
18. We don’t need to prove anything to anyone. You’re excellent and it’s perfectly okay to still be warming up.
19. Try to take care of yourself. I love Popeyes, but what we put in ourselves can actually kill us. Exercise, eat well, and get active. Put some $$ on your jumper, and invite your team out!
20. Learning how to cook is a great look. Seriously. Watch a couple Youtube videos, hit Home Goods, and start cheffing.
21. “Someday” is never going to show up on the calendar. Write that book, send that tweet, record podcast. Don’t opt out, especially not right now.

Special Charcoal Was Used to Make Cave Drawings in France During the Last Ice Age
Tens of thousands of years ago, during the harshest of ice ages, prehistoric artists were making cave art on the walls of Chauvet Cave in southern France. Specifically, they were painting during the Aurignacian, 37,000 to 33,500 years ago, and the Gravettian, from 31,000 to 28,000 years ago. These prehistoric artists painted lions, rhinoceroses, bears and other animals that lived in Europe at the time. Analyses show that too much charcoal was being used to be the by-product of charcoal for cooking, or charcoal for warmth. They were producing charcoal in copious amounts just for the purpose of art.
Recently, researchers sampled and analyzed charcoal traces from Chauvet Cave. Some samples came from the art, other from hearths found in the caves. Of 171 samples, all but one originated in pine, a tree that survives in cold conditions. The one exception was buckthorn, which also does fine in extremely cold climates.
Which raises the question: were the artists choosing to use pine charcoal, because it is particularly good for their art, or were they using pine charcoal because it was the only reasonable option?
to the men that were used by a broken women i’m sorry. to the men that were faithful to a women that wounded them emotionally i’m sorry. to the men that have been sexually abused by the women they love and trusted i’m sorry. to the men that have been physically abused and mentally abused, i’m so sorry. you deserved better and you aren’t less of a man. i hope you find peace.
I hate glamorizing over-working. It’s not healthy. The fact that there are so many people going without sleep, food, personal hygiene (not to mention time for relaxation, personal time, and socialization, which are very necessary for mental health) just to stay afloat is not something to be celebrated or applauded. It’s a problem, not a goal that all good employees should aspire to, or a norm everyone should be expected to perform.

I needed to hear these exact words. 😢😢😢
Damn
This was beautiful
i understand that my friends don’t wanna talk every day. i understand that my s/o doesn’t wanna be lovey dovey and super indulgent every day. lots of people need rest from performative emotions. all people need rest in general! it’s okay!! it doesn’t mean they don’t love me!! it’s not a judgement or punishment!! they deserve to take their rest, and they deserve for me to treat their needs with respect!
not a lot of ppl grasp this.
I'm married and I'm messing with a married man. A few days ago he told me he has caught feelings. I did fall in love with him but I can't bring myself to tell him in fear that he may be playing with my emotions. We've been messing around for almost three years, is it possible he is telling the truth?
It’s possible. But you shouldn’t get a divorce because you caught feelings for the person you’re cheating with. Here’s why:
This analogy may seem weird at first, but humor me for a second.
You know how children always love their aunts and uncles? Aunts and uncles are fun because they buy you stuff, they’re always happy to see you. They’re not always on your case about shit like your parents.
Aunts and Uncles are fun because they only have to see you when they want to. They don’t have to deal with you 24hrs a day, feed you, clothe you, discipline you, make you do homework. They aren’t your parents so they don’t have the responsibility of the dirty work. That’s why they seem so great.
This nigga you’re cheating with is an “uncle”.
He’s not tasked with the dirty work. Managing bills with you, running a home with you. Smelling your period farts when its that time of the month. Seeing you looking busted when you take that sew in out and don’t have any makeup on.
Your husband deals with that shit on the daily. Your husband represents real life and the not-so-fun things that come with it. That’s why the side nigga seems so great. Your side nigga is a vacation from the responsibilities in your real life.
I’m not telling you not to cheat. I’m just telling you not to throw away your marriage for greener pastures. Because if you do… your side nigga won’t be the “uncle” anymore… Things won’t be so great. And you might regret your decision.
BRUH….
This nigga really broke it down
Realist post I seen in a while .
wow the thoroughness of this
