ah, so, i am new to tumblr, but i've really wanted to post some of my pikmin art on another platform! idk really how this works but i would love to get to know some of the pikmin community on here!
my favorite characters are alph, louie, and olimar-- alphiemar ! although, louie is my ultimate favorite :D

i primarily go off of the canon established in the trilogy, not pikmin 4

when i was younger, i liked louie because i thought of him more as a villain and evil. oh hes a bastard! what a bastard! eating those carrots and making olimar be without his family! it developed into something different where i did genuinely like him as a character, where i later focused more on how he could have a background of neglect, which explains him as a whole, and i still do think about that aspect a lot. as of late, ive thought more about him and the titan dweevil in a lot of certain ways.
of course, ive thought about them before, as louie oh hes so evil he HIJACKED this creature and tried to kill!! What a bastard!!! and i knew about how the dweevil possesses the treasure it holds etc then i would think about how angry louie mustve been or how devastated he mustve been being left behind that he just took control of the dweevil but only very recently have i considered how they even *got* to this point together.
i dont think louie wouldve used the dweevil for his bidding. i wonder how he even came across it. had they found each other in the dream den? the titan dweevil without its treasures is utterly defenseless, did louie help it find them? ive been thinking more with the dweevil being a conscious creature outside of game rules. dweevils are harmless unless provoked, was louie fascinated by how large a harmless insect could get? louie knows how the dweevil tastes despite it completely blowing up, did the dweevil help feed him itself while he was abandoned and hungry? i wonder how close he wouldve gotten to this creature in his days being alone. were they completely helping each other every day? how the dweevil is useless without its treasure, maybe holding onto louie was comforting with its attachment to shiny objects (which you can argue he would be called shiny object). maybe the dweevil did take him as treasure initially, quote "kidnapping" him, but louie found this was an easy way to survive as the dweevil protects its treasures. and upon possessing the nature of him as a treasure, does it understand his needs and wants, his feelings and frustrations? is the dweevil heavily acting out on olimar and prez finding him out of freight of losing its treasure and due to the feelings louie embodies?
in that cave, maybe all they had was each other to survive in this way. Maybe neither was the enemy in it. They both are just simple creatures trying to survive. louie's mentality has obviously changed with his ideals of being the king of bugs, in his brain he most likely accepted this as his new life hand in hand with his defense, the creature who understands him and will act out on his request.
louie most likely doesnt want to lose the one thing in his life he probably had in his hands. when he was a child he was told what to do. in the letters hes told to do things he obviously doesnt want to. the president commands and berates him, alongside with praise used to take olimar down. olimar is occansionally hypocritical in his advises to louie. the titan dweevil feels him, doesnt tell him what do to, and *will do* things for him. theres probably a euphoria of being on top of the world after everything dismisses him as being young and immature
in turn the dweevil doesnt want to lose its treasure, and will take on the identity of what it embodies. its its biological instinct to do this thing and dote after its shiny treasure. instinctively, it cannot lose louie, and when it does it meant death for it, losing its whole entire being
I wonder if louie thinks of it after it all, does he miss the titan dweevil or is he just remembering the hell of being left alone on a planet or neither?
idk. thinking a lot. much to ponder. Big ramble im not rereading this.... definitely fumbled over what i was trying to say
i am so outta the loop w pikmin, just because when pikmin 4 came out the fact that the story wasnt as i expected irritated me so bad because i had high hopes and expectations that didnt make it in...
and to be honest i cant even tell you what happens in that game because i was so excited to see louie, got to his first (or only?) dandori battle and later got spoiled for Cavern for a King and dropped the game lol. I was super hyped for a lot of stuff and seeing louie was cherry on top and then being spoiled with no warning like 3 days after release after basically deleting everything on my phone to avoid spoilers since the pikipedia got leaked really killed the hype for me
back then there was a lot going on in regards to it retconning everything and im not exactly sure if thats true either? lol i didnt play it. i was super bummed feeling like they dropped all of the plot adapted previously and AGAIN idek if thats what happened either !! just heavily heavily seemed like it and felt more confirmed when louie showed.
maybe i am a true oldhead fan... this pikmin fan STILL BELIEVES pikmin 4 was a retcon... i hope it wasnt, because that Close to You animation nintendo did in like october also scared me soooo bad for where the series was headed after pikmin 4 was very similar it seemed... true oldhead...
again i didnt get to a Cavern for a King and I didnt play past first seeing louie past credits but when i got spoiled there was just something that left a taste in my mouth feeling like they did just make louie Evil for no reason. like why tf is he with big dog???? im sure it gets explained? or maybe it doesnt? why is he evil??? i thought olimar had dialogue that he didnt know why louie was doing this or why he was here or something lol? and in olimars dialogue he was acting like the titan dweevil didnt exist? again again i dont remember didnt play it
why i love louie and the titan dweevil so much is the whole concept of louie ISNT evil, but immature, inexperienced, frustrated, etc that in his emotions from being left behind he resorted back to what he knows, playing with and eating bugs (which in same way, is hijacking and controlling them), and used that against his previous team knowing their weaknesses to take out his anger and frustration at being left behind. and also he wasnt in his right mind when hes probably been delusional to believe hes a king after this big bug decides to take after him. also he didnt eat the golden carrots to be evil but he has no self control and no idea of how his actions have impacts -- does this transfer over to pikmin 4?
im playing thru the whole series again starting from 1 soon and ill finally beat pikmin 4 i guess, so ill figure it all out. hashtag cant wait for Yonny in 4 i love that guy
Just want to say that I am proud of you! I never knew that there was a Pikmin fandom until now so... One day. Maybe one day I'll actually try writing fic again for anything but Octopath lol

Fic writing is crazy actually, I checked that alph/louie thing I wrote way back and it got a lot more attention then I expected ! So in regards to your fic writing, if you have an idea, share it!
