Head canons: Dating the Koppaiate Captains

Alph:

As the youngest of the trio, he doesn't have much experience with romance. So take it nice and slow with him :)

You'd also have to get used to his big family and many siblings. Yorke might be the toughest to win over as he's a bit protective.

Dates typically include walks through the park, or meals at a cafe. He's also chill with dates at your house.

He's shy with PDA, but will let you hold his hand in public. He likes holding your hand too.

Really likes cuddling and head pats.

Even if you're not interested in engineering or technology, will appreciate you listening to his rambling.

He occasionally makes poems for you, and will blush if you tell him how adorable they are.

When it comes to jealousy, he's the sad kind of jealous. If you spend a lot of time around another, would think that it's expected as they're likely better than him.

He becomes less talkative during this, so give him a hug, kisses, and reassure him he's good enough.

His nicknames for you: My Star, Starlight, and My Shooting Star.

Your nicknames for him: Sunshine, Sweet Pea, and My Keen Engineer.

Brittany:

Tbh, she isn't that good with romance either. As she rarely develops feelings for others. So both of you should take time figuring it out together.

Has a bit of a rivalry with her cousin Nelle, and is appreciative if you root for her (said rivalry being who is better in their respective profession).

Would likely take you on dates to botanical gardens, or have you help her in her family's greenhouse.

Be prepared to splurge a lot. Not on gourmet dinners or expensive clothing, but fruit. She loves fruit, and is low-key obsessed.

And while fruit is relatively cheap on Koppai, the amount you have to buy is a lot.

Isn't big on PDA, so it's better to ask for permission to kiss her or hold her hand.

She makes little notes on your habits and needs. If you need medication for anything, has it in stock for you.

If you suffer from anxiety, ADHD, autism, or anything like that, has a box filled with things to help. Whether it be stress toys, noise canceling headphones, or a weighted blanket.

Wants to ensure that you're comfortable and feel safe with her. Will also do her best to learn more about them to better help you.

Is the pouty kind of jealous. Like, why spend time with another when she clearly isn't busy?

Will demand a movie night and cuddle time to feel better.

Her nicknames for you: My Little/Big Sprout (depending on how tall you are to her), Honeysuckle, and Rose Thorn.

Your nicknames for her: Rosebud, Cherry Bomb (cause she's sweet like a cherry, but watch out if you make her mad), and My Princess (will say she hates it, but her blush says otherwise).

Charlie:

Has actually been on a few dates before, so has a general idea of what and what not to do. Though you're the first person he's ever loved this way.

Is the type of guy to brag about you to his friends and family. He's proud to have someone like you in his life!

So don't feel too embarrassed, he just loves you a lot.

Dates would include dinner dates at restaurants, going to the dog park with his dog Verde, and occasionally going to movie theaters.

If you ask about the green dye on his dog, he reassures you that he used pet friendly dye.

After dating for a while, will give you a female rubber duck so his own rubber duck will have a partner too ^^

For PDA, he's pretty chill. Either holding your hand, having an arm wrapped around your shoulder, or occasionally kissing your cheek.

As a Space Ranger, he's had his fair share of PTSD nightmares and panic attacks. So if you suffer from either, he's immediately there to ground you.

He also trained Verde to help in case he's not around when it happens.

Once you're calmer, gives you a bear hug and whispers reassurances.

He never gets jealous, as he believes in your relationship. However, if you get uncomfortable when another gets too close or too flirtatious, he's immediately by your side to protect you.

Will buy you something afterwards to help you feel better.

His nicknames for you: My Swan, Lovely, Gorgeous, and Duckling.

Your nicknames for him: Green Bean, My Favorite Space Ranger, and Ducky.

A/N: Not requested by anyone, but this idea wouldn't leave my head. I also don't know the name of the song referenced in the title. So, sorry I can't tell you ^^'

Tell me why... Your hands... Are cold...

Notes: Gender Neutral! Reader, can be read as romantic or platonic. No use of Y/N. Can take place in either the Valley of Repose or the Distant Tundra. It's up to you :)

Characters: Olimar, Louie, Alph, Brittany, and Charlie

Concept: You were walking through the snowy areas of PNF-404. Wanting to help warm them up a little, you grab their hand. How do they react?

You were walking alongside your captain/crewmate as you trudged through the snow. The winter winds on PNF-404 were harsher than on your home planet.

Noticing your captain/crewmate shivering, you glanced towards their hand. Even it would be a bit awkward, surely they'll understand that you were trying to help?

So, with a bit of hesitation, you reach out and grabbed their hand. Causing them to pause, look down at their hand, then towards you.

Olimar:

At first, he'd be surprised by the sudden hand grab...

But, he soon understands that you wish to help.

So, he gives you a grateful smile as he fully turns around.

He grabs your other hand and let's you rub both his hands to warm them up.

Then he does the same for you.

It reminds him of helping warming up his kids hand when they were cold.

So he's happy to have that sense of familiarity.

Louie:

He's confused at first, wondering why you grabbed his hand.

Eventually, he decides not to question it and keeps going.

Eventually though, he does notice how much warmer his hand has gotten.

Realizes that was your intention, feelings a bit happy.

If you look carefully, you can see a faint smile on his face.

Alph:

His face turns a bright pink once he processes the fact that you're holding his hand.

He's never held hands with anyone outside of family.

Nonetheless, he gives you a meek smile in appreciate.

Will rub your hands to warm them up as well.

Once both of your hands have warmed up, you continue on your way.

Niether of you letting go of each other's hands...until you had to dodge incoming attacks.

Brittany:

At first she's like "Why did you just grab my hand? Are you trying to be romantic?"

Once you clarify that you only meant to help warm up her hands, she calms down.

You both let go, feeling awkward about until you continue on your way.

Later, after some delicious juice, Brittany apologizes for her misunderstanding. And proceeds to rub your cold hands.

Charlie:

Barely blinks an eye and smiles.

Immediately understands what you were trying do, and helps warm up your hands as well.

"Reminds me of when I was a Space Ranger. Dobbs and I used to warm each other's hands as well."

Reminiscences and tells you about his time as a Space Ranger with his friend Dobbs. And what they would do to keep each other warm when it was cold.

Unfortunately, nostalgia gets interrupted by a Whiptounge Bulborb.

But he will tell you the rest later on the Drake.
