Church Bells are Ringing
She’s in better health than he’s ever seen her. The problem with such observation is that he can still count the number of times that they’ve been together with just the fingers on two hands. “Well ... hello to you too.” The smile on her face barely registers with him before he is forced to make acquaintances with her back. She scurries off behind four scurrying feet, light steps trail even lighter steps. “She told me that we’re going shopping. That you need a dress and I need a suit - a suit that fits.” Her exact words as he’s outgrown even his father’s clothes. “She wrote down the addresses for me” he adds as he pulls pieces of card from his back pocket, creased but the writing still legible.
