Sometimes I think about the irony that light such a femme fatale even though he's (gestures vaguely). all of his plans are literally "oh, I'll seduce so-and-so before brutally betraying them once they've outlived their use :] god women are so shallow and silly" and then the moment his plan can't use that (like with near) he's screaming and crying on the floor

Killing raye penber? seduce a woman to go on a date with.

killing naomi? gain her trust then discard her.

killing L? befriend him then discard him.

killing L? seduce a woman then discard her.

KILLING L? seduce a woman then discard her SHINIGAMI! the entire yotsuba arc revolves around this same premise as well!!!

"how should I get my fans to kill near?" gain their trust then manipulate/throw them at the wall. mikami? takada? the task force? take a BIG guess buddy. oops! all pawns!

And then mello and near show up, the ONLY two characters Light can't tide over and GUESS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN HE GOES AGAINST THEM!!! hint: fucking dies

so naturally i decided to cause myself more pain.

these two panels actually really interest me because of the use of light’s shadow. at the beginning, there’s a distance between him and his shadow—and a distance between his mindset and the mindset of “kira”. by the end, light and “kira” have really and truly become one and the same, and in this shot of him, he’s completely within his shadow… even though it’s turned into something bigger than himself.

my favourite rem activity is when she met higuchi and hated him so much that she fell in platonic love with light. here is a re-enactment:

rem: light is repulsive and i despise him. i would kill him on the spot with no remorse.

rem, after meeting higuchi: nope nope nope. light is a pure and gentle angel. perhaps the true saviour of this filthy earth. it is with great regret that i cannot help him have everything he wants because the strength of my love would kill me.

Well this is mildly terrifying

Throughout the Death Note musical, one thing that is both consistent and funny to me is how characters continually refer to Light as "gentle-hearted" and how kind and cool he is to others

and then the very first number of the musical is Light literally getting into an argument with his teacher, insulting the lesson, then derailing the entire class
