Adventures of A Lupie Lady

This is my journey. It started years ago, at age 15, with a surprise diagnosis of Lupus. I have been through many tests and procedures, most of which you would rather me not speak of...trust me! But, here I am standing tall, despite the odds. I keep adding diagnosis to my list and struggling a lot more as the days go by. :-/ I have good days and bad days. On my good days I adventure and travel. On my bad days I can be found tucked in bed and spoiled by my family. Love and spoons to you all :-)

Howdy Tumblr world... Its been awhile since I have been on. I'm trying to catch up a bit with everyone. I have had a few really bad spells in a row with my lupus but... Hopfully I am on the up and up now. Two words... Autoimmune pancreatitis!!!! Ouch ouch and more ouch!

Me (having the symptoms): eh I’ve made it this far. I’ll probably be fine.

When your love sits you down in your favorite chair with a glass of wine and your laptop... and then makes you dinner and cleans the kitchen... feeling spoiled :-)

You know you are chronically ill where every time you meet a new doctor it feels like a job interview. Showing up, dressed up with a bunch of paperwork, wondering if this one will take you seriously.

But not *too* dressed-up or put-together, because that would mean you’re obviously faking, not that you used half your day’s energy in order to make a good impression by “looking like you care” Gotta strike that balance.

When a new doctor first looks at my medical history...

also doctors: hmm i’m going to take my damn sweet time approving your refill lol too bad if u run out?

the pharmacist who you see every month: ummm we don’t have this lol? come back in 5 days. and take this prescription with you it is tainted and you take a Bad Drug and we are Suspicious of you

also doctors: hmmm yeah i don’t think you need this anymore because it’s working so well you don’t have the symptoms anymore so go ahead and stop taking it suddenly
