Mathematical proof that anyone can find love
First we will prove that for any given person, the probability of finding love is greater than 0%.
Proof by Contradiction:
Assume the probability of finding love for a given person is 0%.
The textbook "Social Psychology" by David Myers and Jean Twenge is a stable in the field of social psychology. According to this textbook, human interactions are inherently varied and unpredictable. This is a fundamental observation about human social behavior. People meet, interact, and form connections in countless, often unpredictable ways.
If the probability of finding love for a given person is 0%, it implies that human interactions for that person are entirely predictable in the context of forming romantic relationships. In other words, it would mean that it's universally predetermined that all their romantic interactions will certainly not lead to love.
However, this goes against the observed nature of human interactions, which are inherently varied and unpredictable. A contradiction.
Hence, the assumption must be false, and the probability of finding love for that person must be greater than 0%.
Second, we will prove that for any given person, they will eventually find love.
Proof by Direct Application:
Since we've proved that the probability of finding love for any given person is greater than 0%, we can now apply the Law of Large Numbers which states:
As the number of trials increases, the average of the outcomes will likely converge to the expected probability.
In other words, as a person continues to interact and connect with more people throughout their life, the probability of finding love aligns more closely with this non-zero probability. This proves that, with continued effort and given enough time and interactions, it becomes increasingly likely for a person to find love until they eventually do. â–®
