He’s attracting a lot of support from Millennials. But why?
To anyone who still thinks that Gary Johnson is a “replacement” for Bernie Sanders and a “worthy” person to throw your vote away on instead of voting for Hillary, I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but you’re misinformed.
If you throw away your vote on Johnson, not only will you split the Democratic vote and risk a horrific Trump presidency (read up about how 3rd Party candidate Ralph Nader helped George W. Bush win in 2000), you will also be voting for someone who is deadset is AGAINST most of the important positions that both Bernie and Hillary stand for.
Gary Johnson is basically a Republican who supports the legal use of weed. But at his core, he is a Republican. He’s not a true Libertarian, and he sure as hell isn’t a progressive.
In every case, you would be much better off voting for Hillary, since she will fight for Bernie’s platform.
Here are just a few examples:
1) Bernie and Hillary want a $15 minimum wage. Johnson wants no minimum wage.
2) Bernie and Hillary want free college for students from families making less than $125,000 per year. Johnson wants to eliminate the Department of Education.
3) Bernie and Hillary support action to combat climate change. Johnson supports no action to combat climate change, and says that it doesn’t matter anyway, because one day the Sun will destroy the Earth (WTF???)
4) Bernie and Hillary want to overturn Citizen’s United. Johnson wants to expand corporate power and supports Citizens United.
5) Bernie and Hillary oppose TPP. Johnson supports TPP.
6) Bernie and Hillary want to expand Social Security. Johnson wants to eliminate it.
7) Bernie and Hillary want to expand Medicare. Johnson wants to dismantle Medicare.
To sum this up, if you are a progressive, liberal-leaning person and you vote for Gary Johnson, you are voting for someone who is literally the antithesis of what Bernie stands for. On the other hand, if you vote for Hillary, you are voting for someone who SUPPORTS Bernie’s core issues and will fight for progressive change in this country.
DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR VOTE ON JOHNSON. HE DOES NOT DESERVE IT.
IF YOU WANT TO KEEP UP BERNIE’S FIGHT, VOTE FOR HILLARY.
