I've also resumed work on my English translation of Gaston Leroux's Le Fantôme de l'Opéra. I'm doing a dual translation of the Gaulois newspaper publication and the 1st edition. 115 years ago today, on 8 January 1910, Gaston Leroux published the final installment of Le Fantôme de l’Opéra in Le Gaulois newspaper. You can read the final installment on my blog here.

Leroux and his editor at Pierre Lafitte & Cie. then edited his serialized text, removing a chapter (”The Magic Envelope”) and several other large sections in the process, and republished his work as a novel three months later in April 1910.

I encourage everyone to do something to mark the occasion and celebrate the beginnings of The Phantom of the Opera!

Newspaper Announcement, 22 September, 1909

On 22 September, 1909, the Parisian daily newspaper, Le Gaulois, ran the advertisement linked above, announcing the serialization of Gaston Leroux's new novel, Le Fantôme de l'Opéra.

Leroux's novel premiered on 23 September, 1909. It ran for 15 weeks, and it was segmented into 68 sections, each section covering roughly half a chapter's worth of content.

This is how it all began! On Thursday, 23 September, 1909, the first section of Gaston Leroux’s Le Fantôme de l'Opéra was printed on page 3 in the feuilleton section of the Parisian daily newspaper, Le Gaulois.

This first section includes the text of the Avant-Propos (Foreword) from Leroux’s novel.

And of course, the reason that Eretz Yisrael was in such terrible shape when Mark Twain visited the land was that the Ottoman Fucking Empire, which mined the Land of Israel for its resources for 400 years, were TERRIBLE land stewards. They all but sucked the land dry.

The Ottomans occupied Eretz Yisrael from 1516 until the end of World War I, when the British defeated the Ottoman Empire and began their own occupation of Israel under the British Mandate.

And before the Ottoman Empire and the British Empire, the Roman FUCKING Empire occupied Eretz Yisrael from 70 CE when they destroyed our Temple, sacked Jerusalem, and deforested Eretz Yisrael until 324 CE when Emperor Constantine forcibly converted the Roman Empire to Christianity.

Then the Christian Roman Empire continued occupying Eretz Yisrael and stripping our land for parts (as the Byzantines) for another 314 years until the Muslims defeated the Byzantines at the Battle of Yarmuk near the border between Syria and Israel in 638 CE.

That's when the Muslim occupation of Eretz Yisrael began, and just like the Roman Pagans and the Roman Christians before them, the Muslims continued to disrespect the land. They continued the deforestation of Eretz Yisrael, and they used it as a hunting ground to poach the wildlife.

The Muslim occupation of Eretz Yisrael began with the Rashidun Caliphate (638–661 CE), and then the Muslims continued to occupy Eretz Yisrael with the Umayyad Caliphate (661–750 CE) and the Fatimid Caliphate (969–1099 CE). Then the Catholic Crusaders came in and squatted on Eretz Yisrael for several hundred years (on and off from 1099 CE to the mid-1200s CE). The Crusaders were defeated by the Mamluk Sultanate (1260–1516 CE), who were in turn defeated by the Ottomans in 1516 CE.

And throughout all of the Roman Pagan, Roman Christian, Muslim, and Catholic occupation of Eretz Yisrael, there was one constant:

Roman Pagans, Christians, and Muslims all ABUSED ERETZ YISRAEL.

All of these fucking occupiers deforested the land, they stripped it for parts, and they hunted the animals on the land for sport.

The desolate wasteland that Mark Twain saw and wrote about in the 1860s was the culmination of 1900 years of continuous Roman Pagan, Christian, and Muslim ASSAULT on Eretz Yisrael.

When Jews lived in Eretz Yisrael during the First and Second Temple Period, we CARED for the land.

Caring for Eretz Yisrael is literally written into many of our holidays.

For example:

Tu B'Shvat, the "New Year for the Trees", is a primary holiday for land stewardship in Eretz Yisrael.

Shavuot was originally an ancient agricultural festival in Eretz Yisrael, and it marks the beginning of the summer wheat harvest and the season of Bikkurim (bringing the first fruits of the land to the Temple in Jerusalem).

Sukkot also started as a harvest festival, which centers on the bounty of Eretz Yisrael. Observance of Sukkot involves the Four Species (lulav, aravot, hadassim, and etrog), which are SPECIFIC to Eretz Yisrael.

The reason why Eretz Yisrael is once again blooming is because Jews once again have self determination in our indigenous homeland.

Jews know how to be good stewards to the land.

We continued to live in Eretz Yisrael during its occupation, of course, but during Roman, Christian, and Muslim rule, we were enslaved, and we were not free to tend to the land.

In other words, once we are no longer under the fucking lash of Roman, Christian, and Muslim occupation in the land, we are able to care for the land in ways that allows the land to flourish.

And you'd think that the so-called "environmentalists" like Greta Thumbscrew would be celebrating the literal rebirth of Eretz Yisrael as an environmental miracle following the nearly 2000 years of deforestation and desolation.

But nope! Greta and the rest of the environmentalists are VAMPIRES. They are too busy guzzling the bloodstained oil money that is pumped into their greedy mouths by Qatar and the IRGC -- oil money which has been drenched in the blood of the Iranian people.

Muslims didn’t originally call Jerusalem “Al-Quds.”

For centuries they called it Bayt al-Maqdis (بيت المقدس) — a direct Arabic translation of the Hebrew Beit HaMikdash (“House of the Sanctuary / Jewish Temple”).

They built their shrine on the ruins of the Jewish Temple — and openly named it after the Jewish Temple.

Hello. Today is the 80th day of Digital Blackout.

I want to talk about the insane inflation rate in the past couple of months and the speed at which people are becoming Jobless.

Today I saw a woman showing her recipt from the supermarket, 22 items for over 8 million toman (Iran's currency). 3-4 months ago it wouldn't even be close to half of this amount. The items didn't even include rice or meat. I saw the price of one single bag of chips and it was over 90,000 toman. That bag of chips was almost 40,000 toman about 7 months ago.

I also see people talking about losing their jobs. Beauty Salons, Gyms, electronics stores, clothing shops are closing down one by one and with them the employees are losing their jobs. There are estimates of about 4 million jobs being closed down in the next couple of months if this goes on.

Just today a "parliament" member said around 400,000 people working in construction are going to lose their jobs. How many families does this include? If each of these peopld belong to a family of, let's say 3, that would mean 1.2 million individuals are going to be financially insecure.

I just want others to see the scale of how fast the IRGC is running the country to the ground. I'm afraid if this goes on there won't be a country to go back to. I'm afraid for every family impacted by the incompetence and absolute violence directed at us by the IRGC for the past 47 years.
