Vanguard pinnacle weapon
Loaded question is a fusion weapon that is obtained from completing a quest from Zavala. It is part of a set called "pinnacle" weapons and bridge the gap between exotic and legendary weapons
This weapon is pretty sub par compared to all the other pinnacle weapons because of the way the perks contradict each other: the unique perk does extra damage on the first shot and enemies explode if killed by it, yet, the gun has ionized battery which increases mag size and sacrificing reload speed which directly contradicts the uniqueness of the weapon
Loaded question has very good range and the spread on the burst is reasonably tight, that is combined with a stability masterwork, making it good for utilising the other 6 bursts effectively despite how much they contradict the whole point of the weapon
Overall this weapon is not worth the time to unlock until they change the perks to better build up the stats in line with the unique perk although I did enjoy reading the lore tab and seeing the subtle changes to the weapon model
Enigmatic package - Gambit
After resetting your infamy rank twice you will gain a Bad omens with a curated roll, of the many weapons with curated rolls this is one of the best offering two of the best perks for rocket launchers
The main perks on this weapon are tracking and cluster bombs with a masterwork for blast radius, combining this with a mod for boss spec allows for a devastating boss killer and is good against cabal tanks allowing the player to take one down in two rockets
I would recommend this weapon in all activities, the amount of damage it can do across a wide area combined with the tracking are a deadly combination for enemies of humanity and other guardians alike
Just a reminder that the deadline to complete the Thunderlord quest and/or claim the code for the T-shirt is the 27th November
Gambit exotic - The descendant to Thorn
Malfeasance is an exotic hand cannon given to the player by the drifter after completing the exotic quest obtained from killing the primeval servitor in Gambit for the first time. The quest focuses on Gambit primarily but also has a special version of the corrupted strike too
Malfeasance's shoots slugs imbued with Taken energy that latch on to a target and when 5 are stuck onto a single target, they'll explode dealing about 2/3 of the damage that the slugs did when hitting the target
The weapon's exotic perk allows it to deal more damage to Taken enemies as well as invading guardians in Gambit
Having used it extensively in PvE I can say it's a formidable gun, performing reliably at short and medium ranges it's good rate of fire and high accuracy allow you to take down all enemy types with ease but I would recommend a longer range weapon in your energy slot to help against distant enemies
( Top - Default appearance )
( Bottom - Aim to miss behave ornament )
Mysterious invitation - Gambit
Truth is a hand cannon obtainable from playing Gambit, this one in particular, the curated roll, is from resetting your infamy rank once and giving the drifter the consumable you get
The perks are Fast mag, Genesis and explosive rounds with a range masterwork. This roll is well rounded and is a good secondary for most PvE activities with both fast mag and the masterwork giving it extra range and genesis to top up the weapon when facing shielded enemies it really does do well
In crucible you may come up short against Luna's howl or similar as Genesis doesn't work in crucible and Trust simply can't keep up with the DPS of other hand cannons
( Appearance is the Gambit chrome shader with the Trust ornament )
I'm really excited for 'Black armory'
The electric MG
Thunderlord is an exotic machine gun available through the "Lost cryptarch" quest until 27th of November 2018, after which it will go into the loot pool. This weapon is a teaser for when bungie releases machine guns with the 'black armory' DLC releasing December 5th
Thunderlord hits hard and can easily wipe out trash mobs and heavier units alike with it's deadly combination of high accuracy, rate of fire and damage
The weapon's intrinsic perk strikes enemies with lightning when they die, causing damage to others nearby. The second perk, lighting rounds, increases fire rate and accuracy the longer the trigger is held whilst continuous hits generate more lightning strikes. Feeding frenzy also allows for quick reloads after kills
Thunderlord has a mag size of 62, coupled with the perks described above it becomes and efficient weapon for all medium to close range fights and I recommend it for both PvP and PvE
The Vandal sniper
The Queenbreaker is an exotic linear fusion rifle with a high amount of aim assist and bolts that blind on hit if they don't kill the target. It has two different modes which change the stats on the weapon:
The top picture has the marksman sight equipped, this sight;
Has a longer charge time
Has higher damage
Longer zoom/magnification
Displays ammo and charge levels
The bottom picture has the combat sight equipped, this sight;
Halved charge time
Less damage
More handling
Displays ability energy
Both sights have their perks but in my opinion the marksman sight is best, allowing you to do lots of damage with a charge time half that of sleeper simulant yet still having a similar damage output against enemy guardians and the handling allows for snap aiming on to the head whilst not having to sacrifice damage like with the combat sight
This weapon is very strong at the moment and definitely a must in your Gambit or crucible loadout
Obsidian mind of blade barrage
The "Shards of Galanor" are exotic gauntlets for hunters, they give super energy back upon hits and kills with blade barrage
Aesthetically they are pieces or shards of swords or blades and only the shoulder pads can be affected by shaders
The super energy regen doesn't seem to be very consistent where sometimes killing a mini-boss and a few allies may result in a 1/4 of energy being recharged but then killing two shielded majors can sometimes give your whole super back
Despite this they are still very effective in areas like blind well and escalation protocol where there are lots if enemies present
In crucible the gauntlets are slightly more consistent and reward multi kills of 3 or more with nearly a whole recharge of your super energy
I would highly recommend for all activities if you're a predominate user of blade barrage
The taken hunter
Wish-ender is an exotic bow obtained from a quest that is started and finished in the shattered throne dungeon, in the Dreaming city. It didn't take me more than 2 hours to complete
The bow is in the kinetic slot and is geared towards killing taken with one of the perks saying specifically that it does more damage to them and it also allows you to destroy the taken eggs dotted around the dreaming city
The other perks are Queen's wrath that grants true sight when the bow is fully drawn allowing you to see enemies through walls as well as broad head arrows that damage the target when entering and exiting out the other side and allowing over penetration of multiple targets
In PvP the Queen's wrath perk allows to see exact enemy positions which is a big upper hand although it's slow rate of fire makes it difficult to compete with most weapons, I recommend to use it in PvE activities more than the crucible
Lake of shadows exclusive drop
The militia's birthright is a kinetic grenade launcher, the only one in that slot. It drops from the lake of shadows when it's a nightfall
The curated roll comes with flashbang grenade, Genesis and threat detector along with a velocity masterwork. As can be seen on the stats the blast radius is very low so it only causes damage on direct hits
This roll is rubbish in my opinion as genesis doesn't work well with the weapon as it usually can't do enough damage in one hit to break a shield like others can, threat detector is also kinda useless because it activates at close range where you don't want to be firing explosives anyway
In PvP it's just as bad and can only kill on direct impact with a player. Overall the curated roll is better of dismantled and getting the 7 cores instead
Coyote (not)ugly
"The sixth coyote" is an exotic hunter chest piece, it grants a 2nd dodge ability charge.
The sixth coyote's double dodges both recharge simultaneously and allow good synergies with perks like Dynamo
Two dodges are useful for both PvP and PvE but more so in crucible where you can take advantage of dodging around corners and reloading whenever you want if you have a paragon mod or two on.
Regenerative sniper
Ice breaker is a weapon in the first Destiny and is rumored to be coming back with the release of the 'Black armory' DLC for Destiny 2 later this year. It was one of my favorite exotics in the whole game
Ice breaker had the ability to regenerate ammo up to a maximum of 6 bullets, getting 1 every 8 seconds that could generate even while the weapon was holstered. The second perk on the weapon made enemies explode upon getting a kill
Ice breaker could be used in crucible although you would start a match with no ammo and it could be combined with damage buffing abilities such as weapons of light to enable the weapon to 1 shot kill to the body, combined with regenerating ammo allowed players to stay far out of normal engagement range and still get lots of kills.
Insight terminus - nightfall reward
The long goodbye is a medium impact and range sniper, similar to the supremacy.
The curated rolls drops with a masterwork for handling, fast mag, rangefinder and rapid hit. Although at first glance it seems like a strange setup the extra handling bumps up the aim assist while rapid hit can make an already good reload speed lightning fast.
As can be seen it looks very similar to the Gambit sniper dreaded venture and its sounds and animations are exactly the same, notice however that the scope is attached off to the side and the weapon icon makes it look like the weapon model is darker with the biggest difference being that dreaded venture is kinetic where the long goodbye is energy.
From my experience so far I would say it is very good for use in PvE and that handling suits it well for crucible too.
I've decided to do night fall specific weapons too
But only the curated rolls (ones that are fully masterworked when they drop)
Redrix's broadsword is a legendary pulse rifle available from a quest that can be obtained from Lord shaxx and requires that you play crucible all the way through the quest.
The broadsword comes fully masterworked but the only perks that can change are different barrels. The special perk is called Desperado which, upon reloading with outlaw active, will increase the fire rate which will increase your damage output severely.
I recommend this gun for crucible, Gambit and PvE as once that Desperado activates it becomes very good at dropping targets fast.
