Hello everyone! This is a fan blog made to archive DanPri contents (WITH, especially).
I've been a big fan of WITH since 2020, after stumbling on their first event video. Their performance is really good for a seiyuu idol group, and I think they deserve to be more popular. But I can't really recommend them to others, since their contents are mostly inaccessible. It drives me crazy tbh.
So! That's the purpose of this blog: to create an accessible archive for more fans. However, please refrain from sharing/reposting the contents of this blog on public (main/unlocked) accounts outside tumblr, especially on Twitter. I'm just trying to avoid problems that may arise as much as possible.
I'm translating some of the stuffs too, but please note that I'm not that fluent in Japanese yet and it might be inaccurate. Feel free to let me know about my translation mistakes when you see it!
Oh and I tend to update my blog posts from time to time. It won't be visible when you see it on other people's reblog, so personally I recommend to visit the original post for the latest version.

Anyway! As we all know, both Idol Time-Idol Land PriPara and King of Prism had live events recently, and I did watch them. However... two out of three were blocked by yt when I tried uploading it, and the only thing survived is Super Live Prism Tours. So here it is!

In short, things happened. My phone broke and it took me some time to replace it... also there are other circumstances happening around that kinda takes a toll on me so 🥲 truly sorry for it but I'll still do the update from now on, slowly!

Hello guys, long time no see… wow, it's new year soon? Well, it's DanPri trivia time again! 🐰
This time, I want to talk about the background idol groups of DanPri. There are some groups/units that frequently appear on anime and stage play episodes, and some of them actually are parody of a real idol/artist group!
I'm including footages of their appearance in different medias, so please check the alt text to see more info!
1. XPAPAN
A group of househusband idols who always bring their babies with them at all times. Their first appearance was on Episode 50 of Idol Time PriPara. According to the stage play, their music genre is rock metal… which is actually concerning, considering they bring their baby with them at all times- yes, including on stage. They're such a group of loving papas, very caring, although the way they do it is questionable at best. Well… at least they got the spirit?
XPAPAN is a parody of Japanese rock metal band, X JAPAN. The band was formed in 1982, and it's now widely known as the pioneer to visual kei genre. You can find their music on YouTube and Spotify.
2. Yah-Yah-Yah-x10 (Yah-Yah-Yajuu)
A wild-type idol group with various beasts as the members. They were depicted as DanPri idols on Idol Time anime, but later was shown to be banished to YamiPri in WITH Stage. Though they look ferocious, they're actually just a bunch of herbivore creatures. When they appeared in Idol Time, they could speak a bit ("I'll eat you!!”), but in both stage plays they couldn't speak at all. Shinya, however, can understand them just fine.
In Idol Time, the members (at least the main ones?) are dragon, cat-like beast, and wolf. But in the stage plays, it was dragon-looking lizard, tiger, and bear.
Yah-Yah-Yah-x10 is a parody of Japanese idol group named Ya-Ya-Yah. It was an idol group under Johnny & Associates that was active from 2002 to 2007. After the group disbanded, some of the members re-debuted as part of the idol group Hey! Say! JUMP.
3. GOD BOYS
A group of fresh, sparkling elementary school boys. Their appearance was realistically child-like and simple on Idol Time, and they can be seen practicing typical Japanese elementary school instruments such as recorder and melodica.
When they appeared in Idol Land, however, their appearance was changed into more elegant-looking kids. The reason for this is because their lore was expanded on the stage plays, which takes place between Idol Time and Idol Land.
In the stage plays, you learned that these kids aren't actually kids at all; they're men in mid-late twenties with mundane 9 to 5 day job. Their elementary students persona in PriPara is a form of escapism from their shitty day-to-day reality. Their goals as idols are to charm everyone with their sparkling youthful aura, and to surpass WITH as DanPri's top idol one day.
I think, so far, they're the only DanPri idols that have different appearance inside and outside PriPara-- and also the one with most developed lore. They're sculpted to be relatable for the stage plays audience, and honestly, it's working on me (they're my fave background chara unit).
4. TERU3
An idol group formed by three androids who longs for love. Their music genre is unknown, but they're dressed like typical Japanese comedic entertainers. The members name are Ai-Shi-Teru (yellow), Ai-Sare-Teru (green), and Ai-Sagashi-Teru (pink). In DANPRI STAGE, it was revealed that the three are actually filthy rich, living in a super luxurious mansion and are able to get anything they want... except for the thing they desire the most.
5. Onmitsu-GO
An idol group formed by triplets named Shinobu, Shinobi, and Shinohara. They have undisclosed illness, so aside from being idols, they also work as spies to cover their medical bills. Shinohara seems to be the most healthy out of the three, but he also looks quite different from his other siblings and was always assumed as an adopted child. Despite that, he still works diligently for his beloved siblings.
Their unit name is actually a pun: onmitsu means spies, while mitsugo means triplets. In Idol Time anime, they appeared as DanPri idols, but in the stage play they appeared to be one of YamiPri units.
6. Carnations
An idol group formed by the reincarnations of famous Japanese historical heroes: Nobunaga, Ranmaru, and Mitsuhide. Their music genre seems to be traditional Japanese mixed with rock, and the lyrics to their songs are based on popular quotes by the heroes. Aside from those, not much is known about them, since they didn't have much screen time both in the anime and stage plays.
7. Mokugyoubi no Bousanra
An idol group formed by monks who love punk music. They are one of YamiPri idol units introduced in WITH Stage, and although I think I saw them in Idol Land anime, I can't remember the episode and can't find the picture at all. So maybe they only appeared in the stage plays after all...? (please tell me if you saw them in the anime)
Their unit name means "Beautiful Wooden Bell Monks". Mokugyoubi is wooden bell used in Buddhist ceremony, typically carved with intricate details. Bousanra means monks. I don't know whether they're based on any real idol/artists or not, but I have a hunch they might be although I don't know who it is.
8. Kareinaru Silvania
An idol group formed by three grandpas. They only appeared once in Idol Time and never showed up on the stage plays nor Idol Land, so there's really nothing much known about them. Their name means "The Great Silvania", which... could refer to something that I don't know. Judging from their get-ups, they could be a parody from a real Japanese idol group, but even after doing some research I still don't know who it is. I will update this if I find out.

It's kinda late so I'm not going to translate anything, but Reiou posted a selfie of WITH practicing today. He's wearing same-ish clothes with Kobatatsu! (He calls him "Taa"... They called Kobatatsu "Ta-tan" and even omit the "-tan" now?)

The reason why Asahi said that is because this was not the first time he wore the maid coord. PriPara's CG director made him wear it on his birthday in January 2018, in the tweet below.
