Best friend breakups PSA

Tumblr only really focuses on personal depression and relationship breakups. And the thing is, yes those topics do hurt. They hit you at home. But there’s one thing that barely anybody talks about that I think should definitely be recognized more. Best friend breakups are probably more painful that relationship breakups. Because sometimes you’re in a relationship with your best friend, and that’s what makes those breakups extremely painful. When you lose your best friend, you lose a major part of your life. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of someone who has never had a best friend breakup. They fucking suck. Because you can’t go to your best friend to vent, because they’re the reason you need to vent. And sometimes, you don’t have anyone else. Most importantly, your best friend is someone you care about. Sometimes more than yourself. Maybe all the time. And leaving them or them leaving you literally leaves this giant hole in you. It’s like nothing’s worth living for anymore. And I think that’s a huge reason why a lot of people are depressed. It’s not what everyone thinks. I’ve met a lot of people on the Internet. I don’t know who hasn’t met anyone new. But that’s not my point. Almost every single person I’ve talked to on the internet has been impacted greatly because their best friend left them. For no reason. No explanation, no goodbye. Sometimes that’s just a part of it. My point of all this is that tumblr sometimes turns serious topics into a joke or kind of a trend. Like everyone says depression is beautiful and shit like that. Well it’s fucking not. Depression kills people every single day. It’s not a trend and it’s not okay to pretend to be depressed for attention. If you want attention, try being kind to people. They’ll be kind in return. Best friends are huge parts of our life, and when you lose your best friend, it’s like losing your world. It’s so hard to not feel alone when your best friend leaves you because barely anyone posts about it. It’s upsetting. It needs more recognition. But please don’t turn it in to another trend. And if you really want to leave your best friend, at least say goodbye and give them an explanation of what they did wrong exactly or what you did wrong or just why you don’t want to be friends anymore. It’s not okay to leave someone wondering when you left them. They could blame themself for your absence, and become incredibly depressed and lonely because they think they’re doing everything wrong.
