🚨Night at the Museum Update: Another Sequel is in the Works🚨
Hello everyone. It has recently come to my attention that we can expect yet another NATM movie.
A few months ago, articles were being shared that Shawn Levy (the original director) and his production company, 21 Laps Entertainment, were going to be working on a new film. I think it's safe to assume that it will be live action.
The screenwriter is said to be Tripper Clancy, whose IMDb briefly says he has worked on: Stuber (2019), I Am Not Okay with This (2020), and Die Hart (2020). It also states that he is 6' 4" if that helps anyone.
I am still unsure where/when we will be able to watch this. The NATM films can be watched on Disney+ along with the animated sequel which premiered on there. Perhaps we will be able to have a movie theater experience with this one.
The unfortunate part is that I believe our time with Larry Daley and the original band of exhibits has come to an end. Although Ben Stiller himself has posted being ready to make another sequel (as he was not casted in the animation) and one of the original screenwriters Thomas Lennon (and voice actor of Teddy Roosevelt in the animation) has stated he is willing to work alongside Ben again in this franchise.
My question is how this plot will work.
If the museum exhibits only come to life by the Tablet of Ahkmenrah, Ahkmenrah would have to be in the movie (this is probably why I didn't like the animation as much because Ahkmenrah was nowhere to be found but they still had the tablet in New York when it has to be with him at all times and he was in London as per the third movie). As Larry said in the first movie, "Look, without that tablet, all of this — this whole coming to life at night thing, it all goes away."
If they make it so Ahkmenrah travels to a different museum — which is accurate with mummies travelling for viewing — I think there would be a stronger story.
I don't understand why they would be in the same museum with different characters. That would completely disregard the second movie in how Larry saved everyone from being archived so they could stay together. If it was all new characters it would feel as though the museum was completely renovated and saying it was the American Museum of Natural History would feel wrong for continuity purposes. And if it's a completely new reboot at the AMNH, then the plot of the museum coming together after having a good night guard after being mistreated by old ones for over 50 years makes me wonder where they would put a time frame on the museum if it wasn't an alternate universe. I wouldn't think it would be a prequel. Would it then be a period piece (the museum was founded in 1869) or is it going to be in the future where a lot of the exhibits we know are replaced? I think the latter would be so depressing. But if they're completely redoing the story of the same museum with a new night guard and different exhibits just for a new generation to like it, I think it will be a flop.
Anyway, feel free to share your thoughts and I'll leave you with these screenshots from the NATM Franchise Wikipedia and a Variety Facebook post.
And just as a reminder, there is still a NATM musical in the works by Alan Menken but it looks like production is still up in the air.
Happy 21st of September!
Next year will mark 20 years of the Night at the Museum franchise and this scene is just as good today as it was back then.

Hello and Update(?)
Hey everyone. It's been a few years since I've posted and I decided to not review the animated NATM movie.
I want to keep this blog purely about the live action movies. In short, I will say the animated movie was OK but it felt weird and was missing a lot of elements in comparison to the live action trilogy. Thanks for continuing to reblog and like my posts and I welcome my new followers to my blog.
That being said, in recent news, Ben Stiller has come out of his acting hiatus and prior to this said in a tweet/X post that he's all for making a fourth live action Night at the Museum movie. I'm not sure how that would work with the passing of Robin Williams, but with Shawn Levy at the helm, I know it would be a great film.
That's all for now. I'll leave you with a screenshot of Ben's message and wish you a pleasant day.
Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again is available tomorrow and I'm so nervous.
What if this movie totally besmirches the NATM franchise/fandom?
💧👁👄👁
Update: I just watched it and I don't think it besmirches.
I'll write my full review soon.

Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again Trailer
A sequel to the Night at the Museum films, Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again follows Larry Daley’s high school aged son Nick as he takes over for his father as the museum’s night watchman for the summer. He’s well aware of the ancient tablet that brings the museum’s denizens to life at night and is happy to see his old friends. However, Kahmunrah has escaped and plans to free the Army of the Dead and conquer the world.

Matt Danner directs the film from a screenplay by Ray DeLaurentis and Will Schifrin. Music is by John Paesano.
Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again hits Disney+ on December 9, 2022.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Night at the Museum Animated Movie 🚨SCREENCAP🚨
THIS IS WHAT WE’RE WORKING WITH, PEOPLE!!!
Still waiting for the trailer, though👀
Night at the Museum Animated Movie 🚨UPDATE🚨
So the Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again IMDb page has changed drastically!
We now have a full cast listed with who they will be voice acting and it is no one from the original cast (although, Thomas Lennon, one of the original script writers, will be voice acting Teddy Roosevelt; he also was Wilbur Wright in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian along side co-writer Robert Ben Garant who played Orville Wright). Though I recognize a few names, I am now worried about the characters (not so much the story) as I recall the Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian video game where the only original cast member was Ben Stiller as Larry Daley and the rest of the voice acting was sub par. Though I suspect the animation will be much better and I hope the voice acting will be, too.
As a NATM fan, I still want to watch the movie, but I am not anticipating it as much as I once was. I know that there is also a play/musical in the works, but where that is a different genre I would expect it to be very different, but a movie (whether it’s animated or not) is a movie.
The movie is supposedly to come out this year and both the first and third NATM movies came out around Christmas so I believe that is when we can expect it.
That’s all for now. Here’s the link to the IMDb page:

Night at the Museum Animated Movie News
Good news!
For those of you who didn't know, an animated NATM movie has been in the works and we now have (or, really, I just found out) a title and description.
I'm also happy to say that some of the original cast has been recasted as the voice actors for their respective roles.
This movie is to supposedly come out this year, however, since there is not even a poster on the IMDb page, who's to say we might have to wait until next year?
Anyway, I'm very excited to see it and I just hope the animation style and story do these beloved characters and franchise justice.
Here's the IMDb page if you'd like to look through it yourself.
