WINGS - HiGHïŒLOW THE WORST X OSTÂ

.
Eilonwy nodded. That was exactly how she felt. The world itself was so big, so rich and detailed, and she wanted to know about it all. Even if there wasnât enough time for that really, she still wanted to try.Â
âIâm actually double majoring in both Physics and Magick History. I like both subjects and they both have different things to teach me, so I didnât see the point in being limited in only one or the other. It does make it tricky sometimes because its a lot of work to prepare for two totally different subjects, but I still like it.â
As they walked, they crossed the boundary onto prideU campus, and Eilonwy automatically glanced around to see if she recognized anyone. But it seemed like everyone was busy with their own summer plans as she didnât see much of anyone at all yet.
.
âOh wow. Is...is double majoring really difficult?â Roxas asked, not having realized that was even a possibility. But then Roxas was only somewhat informed on college things. Most of it from movies he watched at night, and some vague ideas he was pretty sure Sora had had. But that was it.
âAs long as youâre enjoying it I suppose. Balancing the two sounds tough...â Roxas had balanced his own and Soraâs life somewhat for far too long that the idea of balancing two majors sounded rather unpleasant. But he respected Eilonwy for trying to do it.
He glanced around the campus curiously, eyebrows furrowing as he studied the different banners and signs for different parts of it. âIs it okay not to know what you want to major in?â

Eilonwy nodded. âYeah! Honestly chocolate chip cookie dough is probably one of my favorite ice creams for that reason, but I always like to try new things too in case there are other new favorites.â
The nice thing about Swynlake being as small as it was is that it wasnât hard to walk from one side of town to the other. While Ice Queen and PrideU were technically close to on opposite sides, the campus was easy to see as they made their way there. She took another bite of her ice cream and mused over his question.Â
âI donât see why not? I was essentially homeschooled, and my guardian was able to speak to my education and Iâm sure he filled out some sort of paperwork to be able to let me come along, but Iâm not sure exactly what. I bet it wouldnât be hard to ask though! There have to be people who help with that kind of thing. One of the advisors or someone in admissions. What do you think you would study?â
.
âYeah that makes a lot of sense,â Roxas admitted softly.
He was going to have to come back here again at some point soon to try other flavors. How could he not when there was such a wide selection? Roxas had way too much to discover.
âOh wow. Well I donât really know what I want to study either. I just...I want to learn. I feel like I donât know enough about the world.â He only knew some of what Sora had known and it didnât feel like enough. It didnât feel like enough at all.
âWhat are you studying?â He asked after a moment, curious what someone like Eilonwy would choose.

NAME: Lord Roxas Llyr of the Silver Isles
TITLE: Lord of the Silver Isles, Defender of the Ocean, The Kraken
HOUSE: Llyr
OCCUPATION: Marauding the seas? Sea Captain for House Llyr, travels and pillages when needed
ALLIANCES: None, he doesnât really care for other Houses
BIOGRAPHY: Roxas was raised by the rather harsh Llyrs of the Silver Isles. Ever since he was a boy, he knew nothing but combat training and studying the houses and throne and trying to figure out weak points on everything. He and Eilonwy trained hard together, often trying to outdo the other and show their worth to their parents.
What Roxasâ favorite part of training was though, was that with the sea. He loved learning to sail and to captain a great ship and learn combat on the sea. The politics, the history, none of that was of interest to him. He just wanted to captain a great ship.
His parents continued to try to train him toward being a proper heir and future Lord of the Silver Isles, but Roxas wanted none of it. After some time, and several successful raids, Lady Regat finally saw the merit in Roxas being an accomplished Sea Captain. On the last raid, Roxas helped kidnap the magic girl Zarina. In order to keep her tied to their family and her powers useful to House Llyr, his parents had him wed the girl.
After that, Roxas took off (with his new wife in tow) and traversed the seas as often as possible. Now with the Kingâs wedding approaching, Roxas has been forced to return to land once more, a wife in tow and a general lack of distrust of other Houses.
Will bygones be bygones? Or will Roxas be forced to confront the crimes his family committed in order for him to marry Zarina?

It seemed like he was enjoying his first experience with the Ice Queen and she felt a subtle glow of pride, even if that was mostly the work of Elsa with all of her amazing ice creams and fudges and the like. Still, it was nice to know that she was part of him getting to try something new and that it had worked.Â
âOf course not! What better way to try lots of things?â She held her cup of ice cream in his direction so he could try whichever he wanted.Â
âSo the maroony purpley colored one is the black raspberry chocolate chip. The white one is chocolate chip cookie dough so itâs really a vanilla ice cream that has chunks of cookie dough in it that she makes sure is safe to eat since thatâs obviously not true of the type of cookie dough you use for baking.â
.
Roxas hummed, taking a scoop of each of Eilonwyâs flavors now, trying them carefully and grinning. They were really really delicious. Not that he should be surprised honestly. All of the flavors heâd tried so far were amazing.
âI like this one...the cookie dough one you said? I like the doughy stuff in it. Thatâs really good.â Roxas liked the bit of texture in it. Plus the sweetness of the dough was a whole other level somehow.Â
He wandered toward the college campus with her, taking another bite of his own ice cream as he did so. âDo you think the university would take me if I have no real like...educational history or whatever? Cause it isnât really my fault I donât, but I am curious about college and stuff.â

.
âGot it! That sounds like a good idea.â She led him back outside and shifted so she could walk with him towards the PrideU campus. Summer after all was the perfect time to look around and there was plenty to see there.Â
âSee, the thing is that itâs not that there are any bad flavors at ice Queen, but some combinations arenât as delicious as others. Plus once you add toppings, sometimes things are very delicious and sometimes theyâre kind of meh, but it depends a little bit on your tastebuds. Which makes it lots of fun to try things, but I didnât want to risk your first experience being meh.â
âSo the girl who was working is Mim and she can be a lot of fun but almost everyone agrees that her tastebuds are a little bit broken. Actually I think there was a board up at one point that if you could finish one of Mimâs sundaes you got another ice cream for free. Sheâs a lot of fun to try to cook with because sheâs willing to try literally anything, but take any of her recommendations with a pinch of salt.â
âIâm glad you like it though! Do you want to try a bite of any of mine?â
.
âI guess that makes sense. Honestly, I figure everythingâs worth trying once here. You canât go that wrong.â And Roxas wasnât really picky about most things. His ice cream flavors were great! And the pop rocks added this weird fizzy poppy energy that he hadnât anticipated...but it kept things interesting.
Roxas couldnât help but laugh at the description of Mim. Personally he didnât see anything wrong with the girlâs recommendation but...he also hadnât noticed the board up. He supposed that was a brief thing.Â
What sheâd given him was fine, and he was cheerfully eating it as they made their way out and headed toward the PrideU campus. âYou donât mind sharing?â Roxas blinked. Was that something friends usually did? If so, that was pretty cool. âI mean Iâd love to try every flavor at some point. Itâs really good.â

.
âYeah, ahâŠlost my balance,â he trailed off, it was only slightly less awkward given that it was someone he knew. âApollo is kind of a big guy,â he added as he dusted himself off as he stood, not much he could really do about the water other than wait for it to dry. Which, since he was supposed to be out in the dog park for that part of shift anyway it didnât matter much.
Apollo of course watched Roxas curiously a moment before returning to his snuffling around in the grass for forgotten toys; that took precedent over strangers for the moment or paying attention to Ian.
Ian knew there wasnât too much trouble Apollo could get into in the yard, mishaps with closed spaces now resolved and the mental note to tell Greg later that Apollo did not deal well with confinement put aside for when the other man came in next shift, he had a moment to at least say hello to his friend from across the fence that enclosed the dog park while he kept track of where the husky was nosing around.
âI have a very glamorous job, right?â He chuckled and wiped his palms on his jeans as he spoke, âHeaded somewhere?â
.
âYeah he is a bit big,â Roxas agreed with a small smile. Good thing that Ian wasnât hurt or anything from that fall. He squatted down closer to the dog to offer his hand to sniff. The dog seemed to wag its tail a little and Roxas pat it gently. Dogs really were sweet animals. Heâd never met one that he didnât like so far.
He snorted, shrugging his shoulders as he straightened up again. âHonestly it sounds like a pretty nice job to me. But I worked at the Deer for a while.â And he hadnât hated it, but he hadnât loved it either. Drunks were not the best people to handle. And the crowd there just...wasnât his favorite.Â
Roxas rubbed the back of his neck as he glanced in the general direction of the forest. âI was going to try to mess with my magic in a safe area again. Itâs uh...I donât know how to explain it, but something feels...off.â

Mim had already shifted to start scooping up Eilonwyâs ice cream into a cup as Roxas went back to staring at all the flavors. She had just scooped his first scoop of the sea salt ice cream into a cup when he made his other comment. Then she grinned.Â
âOh, ah, Roxas, I donât know if thatâs -Â â
âCustomerâs always right Eilonwy! The man asked for my recommendation, which means heâs getting -Â â
âSomething nice because this is his first time at Ice Queen and I will tell Martin on you.âÂ
Sticking out her tongue, Mim scooped another ice cream, âPink lemonade pop rocks is fun and unique so its a perfect ice cream for someone who is just trying things out. There you go.â Mim handed the cup over to Roxas, although Eilonwy was still eying the other girl with well deserved suspicion. Mim, however, was doing her best to appear perfectly angelic.Â
âFine, fine, Iâll give you that one,â shaking her head with amusement, Eilonwy pulled out her card and paid for both ice creams before Roxas could say anything about it.
âDo you want to sit and eat them here or do you want to walk with them? Itâs up to you!â
.
Roxas couldnât help but snort. âIâm sure they canât really sell any bad ice cream honestly.â He doubted whatever food regulatory thing the UK had would allow it. So he wasnât all that worried about whatever the girl chose for him. He was sure it would be interesting either way.
âThank you,â he replied to Mim politely, taking his ice cream carefully and peering at the flavor that she had chosen. It definitely looked a little wild, but he was curious enough to try it.
âUhhh...why donât we go look around? Iâve sat inside plenty of places, even if it wasnât the ice cream place. Iâm happy to go wherever.â He scooped up a little bit of the pink lemonade and pop rocks, putting it in his mouth and chewing carefully. Only...suddenly there was like a crackling in his mouth, continuously going off as he finished bites.Â
âOh wow...thatâs definitely different. The flavorâs great though.â
Occupational Hazards // Roxian
Normally, Ian could handle nearly anything even the largest of the dogs at work could throw at him; spending the afternoon in the dog park seeing to it that the rescues had time to burn off some energy was, generally, one of the easier parts of his day. Even with Apollo, who was for all his charm a bit clumsy and overly excited at times, but that wasn't much of a problem. But lately, well, very little seemed to be typical; between strange exhaustion, disjointed reflexes and a slew of other building oddities (some of which his mom had been concerned enough about to claim she needed to speak to Nick about and that was concerning), something was wrong.
Ian just didn't know what. And that was actually more stressful than anything being wrong in the first place.
Apollo, however, knew nothing of those concerns. And, as happened at least once or twice nearly every time Apollo was let out to run, the dog had gotten himself into a mess. It wasn't exactly his fault, depth perception wasn't a strong point for the one-eyed dog.
Ian had spent a good few minutes redirecting Apollo out of one of the tunnels where the husky had decided to turn around and startled himself with the small space. True to husky form; he started yowling about the matter and Ian had to go rescue him. But, lately it wasn't as easy; picking up the larger dogs didn't require much effort...except the last couple of weeks it had. Even Yoda had been more of a stubborn challenge at home.
"Come on Apollo," Ian coaxed, keeping one hand on the dog's collar and using the other to keep braced at the edge of the tunnel as he tried to urge the confused husky out. "You're okay, almost there." He had to practically guide Apollo's head down to keep him from hitting it on the wall of the tunnel, and when the dog was free he bolted.
Problem was Ian still had a hand on his collar and what he usually would have been able to react to fast enough to let go in time ended with him being thrown off balance, tripping and ending up in the dog pond with a husky bouncing around him thinking the whole thing was a game.
Admitting defeat for an instant, Ian just sat there with a sigh; he really had no idea why his balance was all off centered but something was clearly off, had been since graduation. Apollo decided to cheer him up by flinging himself once again at him, nearly knocking the both of them over, again.
When the dog jumped up to shake wildly Ian realized there was someone close enough to be caught in the spray. "Sorry!" He quickly apologized, lifting an arm to cover his own eyes from the water cast off by the excited dog.

Something was...different lately. Weird, though Roxas wasnât sure he could explain how it was weird in any way. His whole existence was weird honestly. But something was a little bit off. Like the earth had tilted just slightly on its axis.
Roxas was debating on just how to handle that, taking his keyblade out with him so he could figure out his magic. Or Soraâs magic...well. He guessed it was his now. Sora was long gone, and Roxas was what remained.Â
He wasnât even really paying attention to the direction he was walking, heading mostly toward the forest but taking his time about it. The sun shone down on him, and he took a deep breath, letting himself appreciate the warm weather and the feel of this place, even if things were weird.
He started one way, and all of a sudden water splashed at him and he could hear barking, turning toward it and blinking when he caught sight of a familiar face. âoh. Hey Ian! Itâs no problem really. You okay over there?â
eliasxpatchxamiriâ:Â
-
âYou really think they care?â he asked, perhaps sounding more sarcastic than he really meant it. âI kinda supposed they just saw it as an obstacle to their day. I mean, they donât own any of the stuff, itâs nothing to them.â Elias considered most people to be working these sorts of jobs because they had to, not because they wanted to. They likely didnât care about anybodyâs day, no matter how many times they were told to tell the customer to have a good one.Â
He thought over what the other had said, thinking more that if he didnât tell them, perhaps someone more frightening might do so and cause them more hassle. He weighed up what was worse in his head, the only real thorn in his side being that heâd have to get up and face whatever the potential backlash may be. His thoughts were quickly broken by the wet sound of the lump of cream being dumped into the napkin. Gross. He crinkled his nose, hoping it didnât look quite as bad as he was imagining. âDo you think you could say something? At the end though, as weâre leaving? That way, we arenât bothering them, itâs more just, letting them know.â
.
Sure, it wasnât convenient to remake a drink or whatever, but having spoiled cream or any of that was a bad thing for their business. And to Roxas, whoâd worked with grumpy and angry drunk people before, the best customer was the one who was polite about it and just asked nicely for something. Or mentioned something nicely to help them out. Because guaranteed a ruder customer would end up pointing out the same issue but in a way that the employee would hate the most.
Roxas hummed, quickly throwing the napkin with gross cream into the trash. âYeah I can say something. I donât mind.â No one really knew Roxas here yet, he could just say it and not come back if he were that worried about it. But really he wasnât worried about it. It would be fine. âSorry you got that rotten cream though. The odds of that are ridiculous.â
he rolled up to the party looking sooooo fine

.
âOh yeah! Elsa doesnât make it all the time, but I think she has some right now. I havenât tried it yet myself, but I think it gives a lot of summer feelings. I mean, the mix of salt and sweet seems like an amazing idea to me.â Maybe she would try it herself? Then again, maybe it would be better for her to get her own thing so he could try a spoonful of it and get to try more than one thing while he was here. Yeah, that was a better idea.Â
She realized with a hint of disappointment that Edward wasnât working here right now, but that was fine. Sheâd see him later. Instead, she saw the familiar figure of Mim behind the register. âHi Mim! How are you?â
âOh you know. Living it up, serving ice cream, having a party. What can I getcha?â
âCan I get theâŠoooh, a scoop of the Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip? In a cup please.â
âJust one scoop? You?â Mim said teasingly while Eilonwy stuck her tongue out.Â
âFine, fine. And a scoop of the chocolate chip cookie dough.â She turned to Roxas who was standing near the case with all the different ice cream flavors inside.Â
.
âIt does sound pretty amazing doesnât it?â And maybe Roxas needed to discover his own flavors. But the thought of some sea salt ice cream sounded pretty tasty to him. He wanted to really try that.Â
He put his hands in his pockets quietly as Eilonwy greeted the person manning the register today, impressed that Eilonwy seemed to know her and others around. She must be well liked in this town overall.
He could get more than one scoop? And more than one flavor? Roxas tilted his head, now looking a little unsure of himself. Should he stick with one flavor? Or should he try more and see how that went? âUhhh...can I get a scoop of sea salt ice cream? And then uh...a scoop of what you would recommend the most?â He asked, figuring that might lead to an interesting choice.
eliasxpatchxamiriâ:Â
Elias sighed and felt dull fear settle in as the other suggested that it might be unsalvageable. Unable to check it himself, he had no choice but to take their word. âI donât want to have to go up and explain myself. Iâll only annoy some employee and then theyâll dread every time I come in. If itâs even kinda okay, Iâm willing to take that over having to bother with everything. I swear Iâm not fussy.â he heard the other moving and stayed as still as a could, trying to guess their actions based on the sounds and movement around him.
He patted around the table with the back of his fingers until he found the handful of napkins heâd managed to snaffle out of the dispenser. Being a messy eater, he was always sure to have plenty of napkins around for damage control. âIf you can just, put it into there.â he tapped the centre of the napkin wad, trying to create some kind of divot in the mound where it could hold the cream. âThen it can be balled up and left on the saucer. Theyâll just think I spilt some, which I still could.â he laughed, painfully awkwardly.Â
.
Roxas hummed. âYou know, employees might not like redoing things, but I can guarantee theyâd hate knowing they had something rotten in the store more. Because youâd end up not being the only complaint.â Roxas might not have worked at Hatterâs himself, but he knew customer service. Heâd worked in a bar for a while and people complained about all kinds of stuff. Made worse by the fact that they had a copious supply of alcohol.
He did go ahead and put what he could get onto some napkins, wadding it together once he had so no one had to look at the gross cream. âReally. I think this is something to report. No one wants spoiled anything in their drinks.â Roxas rubbed the back of his neck. âI could mention something if youâre uncomfortable? If you say things politely and donât act like the king of the world, I feel like most people are pretty reasonable.â
eliasxpatchxamiriâ:Â
I Donât Want To Cause A Fuss || Open
Elias was sat at a small table at Mad Hatterâs Tea Shoppe. He was gently smacking his lips and tapping his finger on the table. He licked his lips just a few more times before screwing up his face and gently pushing his drink away from him. He had ordered a hot chocolate with all the bonus fanciful decorations anybody could ask for. Heâd be on a sugar high for weeks. Well, if it werenât for the whipped cream. He frowned, rolling his eyes as he realised this meant he was going to have to talk to someone. This wasnât going how heâd imagined it in his head at all.Â
âExcuse me?â Elias reached out, tapping the strangerâs arm with the back of his index and forefinger. âOh, uhm, hi!â he gave an awkward smile, clearly wishing he was doing anything else but this. âIâm really sorry to bother you, but, I think the cream on this is sour.â he gestured loosely back to where his drink was. âWould you mind scraping it off? Just onto a napkin or something.â he sunk into his shoulders. âI donât want to have to go up and cause a fuss or anythingâŠâ
Roxas honestly had just been sipping at an iced coffee, keeping to himself as he continued to explore different options on Hatterâs menu. Since heâd finally gotten the chance to see daylight he was going to all the shops and all the places that were never open at night and trying everything. He had to admit, Hatterâs had some pretty fantastic drinks.
He had been pouring over a book heâd borrowed from the library about plants and flowers (he had an interest in things that grew) when someone tapped him on the arm. He blinked, twisting to face the stranger. âOh...uh...â He peered at the drink and hummed. âDo you think scraping it off will be enough to save your drink? It might be better to get a new one.âÂ
Still, Roxas gently reached for the drink and tried to carefully scrape some of it off. âSorry you got some rotten cream. That sucks.â
