I’m gonna keep this short so people read it but the activist camp at Riehpovuotna (norwegian: repparfjorden) have been protesting for over four months against the building of a copper mine that plans to dump 30 million tons of toxic mining waste into the fjord. This will have devastating consequences for the local ecosystem, the salmon fjord and the indigenous reindeer herders in the area. The camp is run by sámi and environmental activists, and they need support to keep it going. They are planning to stay the winter and this is in the far north, so temperatures are dropping fast, last I was there it reached -6 degrees in october, and it might get down to -25 or lower later in the winter. The money will go to supplies, food and legal funds for the activists who are getting unreasonably high fines for civil disobedience and need lawyers. sometimes I think about how rattlesnakes are starting to adapt to bite immediately instead of using their rattle as a warning, because this defense mechanism that says "im here! im frightened! don't come close or ill bite you" has instead ilicited a reaction of "oh fuck a rattlesnake, i should kill it"
so of course every snake that has the instinct to warn humans of its presence gets killed, and only the snakes that bite first and dont make themselves known get to survive. a human who's been bitten is too worried about his swelling ankle to decapitate a snake with a shovel.
it's a good example of how humans make the world more dangerous for ourselves by believing that we have mastery and ownership of it. we think we have the power and importance to control the life around us down to the snakes and insects, but every animal fights for life. and no animal thinks that any human is more important than it's own life.

quick notes about workflow/turnaround -
i take weekends off for personal time/art for myself/social things etc, if you really need something done quickly over the weekend for an upcharge let me know in advance. (i can usually respond to inquiries over the weekend, if slowly, i just won't be starting your commission right away if you message me on a saturday or something lol.) i'm US-based if that timeframe knowledge helps.
i have chronic pain/health issues that slow me down frequently, pieces can take from 2-3 weeks up to a month or so to complete, large/full body paintings or complex backgrounds will take even longer. again if you need something rushed/have a deadline in mind we can work that out for a price, otherwise please be patient with me. you can always feel free to nudge me for an update/wip, that's perfectly fine, just be polite about it, y'know? <:)
speaking of wips i try to send at least one or two as i go (besides the clean sketch for approval) when it comes to complex pieces like paintings and such, even before the to-be-approved-and-paid-for sketch i may send thumbs/rough drafts just to get an extra nudge in the right direction, this helps keep revisions on the clean sketch minimal.

( fwiw i work at 300dpi and painting or flat color canvases usually around 2400x2400px or smth like 2400x3000 or reversed, depending on preference/composition; if you need a significantly bigger piece at higher price just ask. chibis at at 700px and profile icons are at 200px )

i can't stop thinking about this. this kind of shit is not like milsim plane nerds with their own super-expensive desktop cockpit recreations. that kind of hardware makes sense to exist.
this does not. they're playing world of tanks which is like the "call of duty" of tank games (casual, players only slightly bad-smelling). it also doesn't have support for tank peripherals. no game does. no trainers do afaik. which means that (assuming this isn't just a video editing) all of that shit they are fucking with translates into mouse/keyboard inputs that the game understands. that's weird/hard and perplexing, uh, and considering that "tank peripherals" aren't a thing that exist i can only guess they built them theirselves
which is fucking hilarious because why are they so good. why does the fucking cannon breech have a little dry ice smoke effect when the breech opens like they just shot a shell. what. manual turret traverse crank?? did they build a fucking ready rack!! they're even using the correct phraseology which means one of these mofos read a PDF file
