I’m back.
About 7(!) years later I’m back up in here. I just got hit by this unbearable urge to express my love to music and write about it. Reading back on my old posts really made me remember/realize how my awareness of music was on another level. I think writing does that to you. Amazing.
Right now I feel so overwhelmed by the amount of GOOD music that’s been released these past months, so I’ll have to figure out how to tackle this, but I’ll work it out. Peace!

Do You - Miguel
Well, it has yet again been a while since last time, so happy holidays! Hope you guys have come up with some great new year's resolutions (i.e not trying to get buff or going on a diet). So with 2012 out of the way let's kick this off by giving you a piece of one of the best albums of (ironically) 2012, Kaleidoscope Dreamby Miguel. With both Channel Orange and Kaleidoscope Dream, 2012 has been one of the best years for RnB in such a long time, so don't sleep on either of those! Anyhow, I'm getting my Miguel-groove on since I will be lucky to see him perform on February 2nd!
This track was an instant-favorite from the album, and I love how he channels Prince in the first close-up on his face, nice to see these guys paying homage to the legends. Oh and the chick in the video is his long-time girlfriend, yet again not such a common thing within the genre. Will probably post some more Miguel-favorites soon, but in the meantime of the betweentime, enjoy!
A quick shout-out
to Spike Lee for directing a really great documentary about Michael Jackson's album Bad, titled Michael Jackson: Bad 25, celebrating it's 25th anniversary. It tells about the creative process and how the album came to be while displaying Michael Jackson's gift and incredible talent for music. Truly remarkable and I advice all of his fans to watch it.
Diamonds - Rihanna ft. Kanye West
Thought I'd share two things with y'all this evening. First off I missed the man mentioned above (Kanye) with about 30 minutes at a club here in Stockholm and therefore missing out on the night of my life, so I've been digesting and mourning over that for a second.
Secondly, a remix to Rihanna's currently number 1 single on the Billboard charts, Diamonds, was released last week featuring Ye. I really like his experimenting with longer verses (as he did on this track). Anyhow, this is an edit of the remix that I came across over at the KTT-forums in which Ye's entire verse has been split in two and only leaving Rihanna on the chorus, making it sound like Yeezy's song. Feel free to listen to the original remix, I personally prefer this version so I'm gonna vibe to this instead.

Shit man, I've been listening to Lamar's debut good kid, m.A.A.d city and that's some life-changing shit, this track in particular goes so hard and the kid's verses hits you straight in the heart...and the switch in the middle of the track sounding like some early 90's gangsta rap? *dead*
