One of my favorite hcs without much canon basis at all is that in universe, Mordecai looks more handsome when smiling, while Rocky looks more handsome without smiling.

#okay maybe a little misleading but i think that Rocky looks more handsome with his normal resting face in universe #like when he's not pulling crazy smiles or exaggerated expressions or whatnot #Rocky's parents r both implied to be conventionally attractive and unless stated otherwise in future i feel like the same would apply to hi #And well just look at Mordecai lol #he's quite charming with a genuine smile #also its so hard to find pictures of Rocky where he isn't smiling or exaggerating his facial expressions #i know the happy-go-lucky and almost ax-crazy smile is a pivotal part ofhis character but i wonder what'll become of him if he ever drops i #I love Rocky just the way he is(i mean CMON who wouldn't love this cutie goofball???) but if the comic/show ever goes that route— it would #be such an interesting character exploration #Offtopic but what i also mean is that i don't actually see them this way but #“How would the characters in this universe percieve someone as attractive?”#Mordecai is canonically attractive even without smiling with women staring or flocking to dance with him #but i feel like he'd be even more “popular” if he smiled genuinely and as frequently like Rocky (if his smile is natural)#The same applies to Rocky but as the opposite #I don't doubt for a second that half of the Lackadaisy characters find him extremely unsettling (IE: wick and victor most prominently)#Which is like 80% because of his personality but those uncanny facial expressions also have a lot to do with it lol #lackadaisy #boozecats #mordecai heller #rocky rickaby #hellerby #yes this was hellerby all along!!!!#reblog #I love this! While looking at pictures of newborn lynx-point kittens, I was reminded that they are born completely white and slowly gain their colors with exposure to the lower temperatures of the outside world. I ended up headcanoning that baby Roark had white fur for the first few of weeks of his life, and so I drew him here just as his nose and ears are beginning to turn gray and brown. 🐱
