🍀 🍄A summary of the Sabbats 🍄🍀
When I was a baby witch, it was really difficult for me to understand the Sabbats and the wheel of the year. To help all my baby witches, I made a short summary to make it easier.
🎄 Yule (Date: on the winter solstice, dec. 20-23) 🎄
This is the Sabbat for celebrating rebirth. Many people celebrate it similarly to Christmas, with gift giving, feasting, and wreath making. People will often kiss a consenting partner under a sprig of mistletoe for good luck.
🐏 Imbolc (Date: feb. 2) 🐏
This Sabbat celebrates the return of spring. People make corn dollies and set them in a basket next to a symbol of masculinity. Many Witches will clean out their homes during Imbolc.
🐣 Ostara (Date: on the vernal equinox, Mar. 20-23) 🐣
This Sabbat celebrates the coming time of fertility. Egg decorating is common during this time.
🔥 Beltane (Date: May 1) 🔥
This Sabbat focuses on fertility. Many Pagans choose to conceive children at this time (or just to enjoy themselves sexually with a partner). Beltane festivals are often high energy, with plenty of dancing and bonfires.
☀️ Litha (Date: on the summer solstice, Jun 20-23) ☀️
A Sabbat for celebrating the longest day of the year, as well as for mourning the shortening days after. Some Witches burn bonfires or light candles to represent the Sun.
🌾 Lughnasadh (Date: Aug 1 -> 1 day before my birthday!) 🌾
I love this Sabbat but I’m not able to pronounce this name :). This is the first of the three harvesting Sabbats. There are festivals of grain and bread. People make gingerbread men during this time.
🍁 Mabon (Date: on the autumnal equinox, sep. 20-23) 🍁
This is the second of the three harvesting Sabbats. Witches give thanks to the Earth and the harvest. Celebraters will make and drink wine at this time.
⛄️ Samhain (Date: nov. 1) ⛄️
This is the last of the three harvesting Sabbats. It is also the festival of the dead. The veil is at its thinnest at this time. Witches will sometimes hold a big feast during Samhain.

Freyja - How to honour and invoke her.
Herbs, Scents, Oils, Flavours, Foods and Drink
Strawberry (sweetness, love, desire)
Rose (love, romance, sexuality)
Florals (femininity, sweetness)
Sandalwood (sensuality, strength, desire)
Nutmeg (luck, love)
Rosemary (death, respect, passing on)
Vanilla (sensuality, sweetness, desire)
Mint (sensuality, desire)
Cinnamon (strength, warmth, assertiveness)
Thyme (magic, strength)
Ginseng (aphrodisiac)
Saffron (aphrodisiac)
Catnip and catgrass (cats)
Mugwort (magic, prophecy) [toxic in large amounts]
Wormwood (magic, prophecy) [toxic in large amounts]
Juniper (strength, power)
Charcoal (death, rebirth)
Red wine (aphrodisiac)
Mead (golden colour relates to her golden tears)
Cocoa (aphrodisiac)
Items that can be used in an altar dedicated to Freyja
Cats - statues, fur (not from cruel means!), shedded claws or whiskers, paw prints, plush toys.
Food and Drink offerings - see above list!
Weaponry - being a warrior goddess, a weapon is a great addition to an altar dedicated to her or as an offering. Letter-opener swords are perfect in size, but a kitchen knife will work just fine! Be careful of any children or other people who shouldn’t be able to access something that can be used as a weapon.
Feathers - Freyja owns a Falcon feather cloak that allows its wearer to fly.
Gold - anything golden. She likes shiny things.
Necklaces - Freyja owns the beautiful necklace, Brisingamen. Any other jewellery would work too!
Runes - Freyja is a witch (seidkona).
Other magical items - crystals, candles, tarot cards, wands etc.
Beauty products - hair brushes, makeup (warpaint!), nail polishes, etc.
Boars - Freyja (and other Norse gods) own boars. Anything relating to a pig would be suitable (often you can find crystals carved into the shape of a pig). A boar bristle hair brush would be perfect.
Things relating to feminism - There will be those who roll their eyes and get angry when they see this point, but it’s true. Deal with it.
Subtle and “secret” ways to worship
Keep altar items in a jewellery box. It signifies her magical necklace while still being able to be hidden away in case the wrong people see it. Same goes for makeup bags, handbags, other boxes, etc.
A bottle of wine can be placed somewhere in her honour. It’s a common sighting in many households, so there’s little chance of someone questioning it.
Keep a book (grimoire, book of shadows, journal, etc) with poems, songs, drawings, print-outs etc. dedicated to her. These can be easily hidden between furniture or in a drawer if need be.
Kitchen magic - use ingredients that are associated with her in your cooking. Just be careful not to include anything that can be toxic or make yourself or someone else sick.
Burn incense, oils, candles etc. in scents related to her. Many homes use these things as decoration.
Play music of a Nordic/Pagan/Medieval nature (or whatever you associate with Freyja!).
Wear perfumes in scents related to her.
Note: you are allowed to secretly worship, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Not everyone has the luxury/comfort/space to openly have an altar or place of worship in their home, and that’s okay! Your patron deity won’t mind.
Please note: mentions of Freyja being the goddess of femininity are not intended to belittle or exclude trans and non-binary people. Any one of any gender identity can worship her, and without having to explain or justify it to anyone else.
Incense Blending: A Guide
Blending your own incense can be a very powerful tool for pagans, no matter what path they choose to practice. A blend you have made has the benefit of being filled with your intentions and power, as well as the more mundane (but no less important) benefit of knowing what has been put into it. This guide is for making cone incense, as it’s easier to form than stick incense and in my experience, burns longer.
Items Needed (the recipe I’m using is mine for my Samhain incense; the steps are the same for all cone incense, but the recipe differs).
Mortar and pestle: don’t use the same one you do for grinding herbs for tea or food, incense is not meant to be ingested and in some cases can be harmful.
¾ tsp. Makko or another natural incense base: Makko is a common incense base most notably used in incenses of Japanese origin.
1 tsp. Myrrh resin: This has a very pungent aroma, but works very well at holding all the parts of the incense together. There are other resins that work just as well for other blends (i.e benzoin gum).
1 tsp.crushed mugwort leaves: You want them to be small enough to stick to the Myrrh resin
1 tsp. Frankincense tears: tears are small chunks of resin, If you grew up in a Catholic environment (like yours truly) you’ll likely recognize these as the incense from funeral masses and Christmas/Easter/Lent.
2 tsp crushed Rosemary Leaves.
Pipette or eyedropper for water.
1. Combine your ingredients in a small bowl. and mix them together, making sure they’re all nicely crushed up.
2. Begin to add small amounts of water to the mixture. Using a pipette or an eyedropper prevents you from adding too much. remember, you can always add more….you can never take it back out.
3. Stir until the blend reaches the consistency of play-doh.
4. Once that happens and your blend has formed a paste, you can begin to form incense cones with your hands, make sure the cones are flat on the bottom.
Once you’ve formed your cones….let them dry for 24-48 hours and they’re ready to go!
Thank you!!

Dilly Bread
Ingredients:
2 ¼ tsp. instant active dry yeast
½ C. bread flour
½ C. warm water
1 russet potato peeled
3 ¼ C. bread flour
1 ½ tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
3 Tbsp. chopped fresh dill
Method:
Starter: In a medium bowl, combine yeast and ½ cup flour. Stir in water until mixture makes a soft dough. Cover with a clean, damp kitchen towel and place in a warm place for at least 30 minutes.
In a small saucepan, place the potato with enough water to cover and cook until tender (10 to 15 minutes). Use a slotted spoon to remove the potato. Reserve 1 cup of potato water and cool to room temperature. In a small bowl, mash the potato until smooth. In a large bowl, combine mashed potato, potato water, bread-starter, bread flour, salt, and olive oil. Use a wooden spoon to mix the dough until it forms into a soft ball. By hand, on a lightly floured surface, knead dough until smooth and supple (about 10 minutes).
Coat another large bowl with the vegetable oil. Shape dough into a ball, place in the bowl, and turn to coat on all sides. Cover with a clean, damp kitchen towel and let rise in a warm, draft-free place (1 to 1 ½ hours).
Punch down dough and place on a lightly floured surface. Knead in dill and continue to knead for 1 more minute. Form dough into a ball and with a tucking motion pull the outer edges of the dough and tuck underneath. Place the dough in an oiled bread pan. Cover and let rise in a warm, draft-free place (about 1 hour).
Preheat oven to 400-degrees F. for at least 30-minutes. Spray the top of the bread with a quick of mist of water. Bake the bread until the crust is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped (about 45 min. to 1 hour). Cool on a wire rack.
Store in an airtight container to maintain moisture and freshness.
Divination Incantation (for Centering and Focusing)
If you are like me, I have a lot of trouble calming down enough to meditate. I have maybe put myself into a meditative state…10 times? In 29 years? But in order to read Tarot or runes, I need to be in a clean and clear state of mind.
Years ago, I came up with a small incantation. There are three simple steps to this process, and it gets me centered and focused within minutes.
1. Take your cards/runes/dominoes/whatever tool you use for readings and hold them in yours hands. Shut your eyes and take ten deep breaths. Completely fill your lungs and take your time breathing out. Focus on all the static energy in the room and draw it in with every breath. Pull that energy to your center (which is different for everyone. Mine is at my apex, beneath my sternum.)
2. There will be a stillness that surrounds you and that signifies the next part of this, which is reading this incantation:
When casting these [insert tool] from my hand, it is power I hold and understand. I will honor answers given to me, recognize the fates coming to pass, and that one day may be.
3. Silently thank your tool and begin your reading!
There ya go! Hope this helps.

💧 Some tips:
🔵 Different sources of water can have different elements such as metals dissolved on it, and this gives it more effects. For example, copper for love, sulfur for banishing or salt for protection.
🔵 Check if rain is drinkable in your area, you could make many things with it! as teas or drinkable potions.
🔵 As Moon water, you can also make water with the energies of other celestial bodies as stars, planets and more!
💧With love, Nao💧

DISCOVER YOUR INNER GODDESS
You are an In Between, a Goddess of balance, living part in the light, part in the shadows, Stronger during the dawn or the Sunset. All the in between spaces and times are the places where you are the brightest. You work for the balance of the world. You are the Goddess of choices. When someone faces a big question, doesn’t know where to go, you are the one who will help them decide. You will show them the way, help them really ponder their choices. You will whisper to their heart the choice that would make them happy. Of course, sometimes it takes a while for them to realize that, and they forget their current joy is connected to this choice they made. Other times, despite all you can do, a human will decide not to follow your voice, your impulse. Then, it very often ends poorly.
You look after the forces of the Universe, keeping them in balance, a never ending task, when your enemies and the forces of Chaos are so strong and powerful. For each “good” choice you helped take, you have to face the choices pushed by the Darkness.
Your role led you to great adventures: you were there for every big decision that happened on Earth, every King, Queen, Explorer, President, they had to face choices. And you were there with them, an echo in their ears, an intuition in their soul. Sometimes they listened, others they didn’t. You’ve traveled oceans and deserts, you’ve witnessed battles, discoveries, all that in silence, with just a sweet smile on your face…you love nothing more than to see what they will do with that choice (that is still up to them after all), and where will humanity go.
You are an Inspirer, staying in the shadows to bring light to the world.
Your powers: you can whisper directly into on’s soul, hide in the shadows, invisible. You can enter the dreams one makes right before dawn, the ones they will remember. You also have a form of foresight.
Your weakness: the sure moments, where there are no options. Noon, places with no life. Because without life, no choice can be made.
Your crystal to focus on: Tourmaline, a stone of purification. You tend to overwhelm yourself, and feel like you can’t do anything because of all the choices/ideas/thoughts you have, running in all directions. Tourmaline can help you sort out all that and purify your mind! It will help you find clarity.
Want to discover the Goddess inside you?
