Thank you Aaliyah for sending me my rainbow. & looking after her to make sure she made it her safely. I started to have the same complications I had with you but made it further along before it started so her chances of making it were better. I'm sorry my body failed you. I'm sorry I couldn't stay healthy long enough for you to make it. Though your sister is here it doesn't mean I'm replacing you or love you any less. I wish I could have both of you here with me and have you two grow up together. But unfortunately that's not the case. Continue watching over us. We will see you when we get to heaven. Love and miss you dearly baby girl.

Christmas without you.

I know I was disappointed that because of the complications I would have had to spend Christmas in the hospital. But if I known the alternative was being home without you I wouldn’t have complained at all. I would have gladly stayed if it meant you were still here.

Everyone’s saying “Merry Christmas” but it doesn’t feel christmasy at all. For me there’s nothing to be merry about. My best gift of all is in heaven with God. Rather than still growing in my womb or craddled in my arms.

Probably would have been awhile before I felt like I was ready to hang her pictures up if a coworker had not given me a frame for them.

But I’ve learned it’s easier if I acknowledge that she did live even if it was just the 6 months in my womb. Rather than trying to pretend other wise to try and ignore the pain.

Marry someone who gives you butterflies every time you hear their key in the door. Marry someone who you don’t always have to shave your legs for. Marry someone who accepts you all day every day, even when you don’t look or feel your best. Marry someone who puts three sugars in your tea, despite telling them “just the two”. Marry someone who doesn’t judge you when you eat your body weight in cookies. Marry someone who doesn’t make you want to check your phone, because you know they will reply. Marry someone who waits with you to get on the train. Marry someone who understands that you need to be alone sometimes. Marry someone who gets on well with your parents and isn’t uptight about family events. Marry someone who calms you down when you get mad about stupid stuff, and never tells you it’s “only stupid stuff”. Marry someone who makes you want to be a better person. Marry someone who makes you laugh. Marry someone who you love. Marry your soulmate, your lover, your best friend.
