Church 9/24/17
I have decided to follow Jesus; I have decided to follow Jesus; I have decided to follow Jesus; No turning back, no turning back.
Tho' none go with me, I still will follow, Tho' none go with me I still will follow, Tho' none go with me, I still will follow; No turning back, no turning back.
My cross I'll carry, till I see Jesus; My cross I'll carry till I see Jesus, My cross I'll carry till I see Jesus; No turning back, No turning back.
The world behind me, the cross before me, The world behind me, the cross before me; The world behind me, the cross before me; No turning back, no turning back.
The only thing I want in life Is to be known for loving Christ To build His church, to love His bride And make His name known far and wide
Tried to upload a post last night but I guess it didn’t go through. Here it is, one out of the 65 attempts yesterday at a last-minute Christmas card pic. After a lengthy episode of running back-and-forth between the camera and the tree to set the self timer, a migraine on Matthew’s end caused by too much light from the light boxes, and hours on the phone for Mommy with the Christmas card company earlier today, we have finally placed an order for our 2016 Christmas card. Which will arrive after Christmas. And which will most likely be sent out and delivered to the recipients after New Year’s Day 2017. Go us. (Note: This is not our main photo because I didn’t want to give that one away. Although I’m hoping that no one sees these posts anyway.)
Met up with a few high school amigas for lunch on College Ave. It was fun to find out what everyone has been up to--we’re all on such different paths already. After I walked Ellie I gave her a bath, and once again she completely flipped out when I tried to blow dry her. At least she’s nice and clean and fluffy now. :)
Such an inspiring place to be. :) Ran away from a dog this morning while trying to protect Ellie on our morning walk. Mommy had to bring the car to rescue us, hehe. Went to dance class for the first time in a few weeks.
Ellie is wayyy chill in this bear outfit (that is too small for her). Today was another happy day. :) Didn’t realize December could be so full. I’m running out of time to buy Christmas gifts...
‘Twas a very rainy Thursday. Last day of work for the year!
Finally feeling the Christmas vibes.
Still in the process of cleaning my room... but it’s slowly starting to look better and better, and it’s definitely feeling cleaner. As today is Monday, I volunteered for four hours at this beautiful place. Today was ugly sweater day and some of the staff went all out. It was pretty quiet today, and we decorated cookies and had hot chocolate. Feel so much warmth whenever I come here. <3
Been reading Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst and I’m already more than halfway through. So many great points to learn and continually remind myself and become transformed by. Some memorable quotes thus far:
“Rejection steals the best of who I am by reinforcing the worst of what’s been said to me.”
“We’re all desperate to anchor our souls to something we can trust won’t change.”
“Feelings are broken boards. Only truth is solid, unchanging, and stable through and through.”
“The most beautiful love story ever written is the one you were made to live with God.”
“Live from the abundant place that you are loved, and you won’t find yourself begging others for scraps of love.”
“The gravity of living in a sin-soaked world will always try to hold us back from living loved.”
“[Abigail] refuses to be a victim of a circumstance she can’t fully change. Instead she changes what she can.”
“Believing God has purposed our days will save us from the trouble of stepping into plans that aren’t meant for us.”
“What happened yesterday can’t be changed, but it can be forgiven. That’s your miracle in the mess.”
“If we avoid the hurt, the hurt creates a void in us. It slowly kills the potential for our hearts to fully feel, fully connect, fully love again.”
That’s it for today. Had a short but good workout, folded laundry, and I’m about to read some more.
Spent a rainy Saturday in San Jose because Grant had volleyball practice and both M&D had other engagements. Matthew drove home last night while I was sleeping (well pretty much sleeping). He spent all day with Ellie, I’m pretty sure. I’m trying to teach Ellie new tricks because apparently it’s best to train them everything when they’re puppies. She’s so smart! Sometimes too smart...
While Grant was at practice, I stopped by Noah’s, Teaspoon, and Barnes & Noble. Saw some cool books there but couldn’t get myself to buy any of them, knowing that I could get them on Amazon for a lot cheaper. I love Barnes and don’t want it to disappear but unfortunately Amazon is always cheaper. :( After I picked Grant up from his 3-hour practice we drove to our favorite tofu house and had a huge early dinner with the rest of the fam including Matt. Had some yummy budae jjigae. <3
Just finished watching Reply 1988 and I’m sad that Duk Sun and Jung Hwan didn’t end up together... Grant and I were really rooting for them. :’( Heh. I think I might start reading a book called Uninvited by Lisa TerKeurst. Seems pretty good so far.
Finally started decorating the tree today! Well, Mommy did most of it so far. Can’t believe we’re only 2 weeks and 2 days away from Christmas. It’s been raining all week so I haven’t been able to take Ellie on a walk for a while. Time to watch some more t.v. I guess. :)
Another rainy day--but exciting! Shopped for Christmas decorations at Costco with Mommy this morning and got an email (okay maybe it wouldn’t be as exciting for some people but I wasn’t expecting much). Tutored as usual, mostly English, which I find is more enjoyable to teach than math.
Ahh thank you, Father, for always taking care of me and never ceasing to work in my life. Even if I can’t always see change, I know that you are continually laying down a path for me and guiding me each step of the way. Help me to grow my faith in you and seek wisdom when my trust is put to the test. Your love is so amazing!
Slept >12 hours last night and I still woke up with a headache. Didn’t do much all morning, just chilled in bed because it’s so colddd in our house. Tutoring was fine, I walked through the Caffino drive-thru during my break hehe. Had to get coffee because I was getting super sleepy even after sleeping for a whole half day. Ate some kimchi jjigae at home, watched some more Kdrama with the fam, and had hodduk made by Mommy and Daddy. Time to return to hibernation mode (just because it’s so cold).
Had such a long day--started at 5:30 am and now I’m about ready to go to bed even though it’s only 7:50. Went okay, now it’s just time for me to wait and see what God has in store for me. So nice to not stress and chill in bed with nothing to worry about for now. <3
Tomorrow is a big day! Have to wake up super early so I better go to sleep now, but had a great day with the fam. Ate lunch with Grant and Mommy, volunteered at GMCH, and had a wonderful dinner. Thankful to have such supportive family members.
Look how adorable she is~ Spent all day from 5 am to 10 pm with this baby. Watched J.D.’s sermon from a couple weeks ago, went on a walk with Ellie, fed her some gourmet stuff because she still refuses to eat plain dog food (-_-) and watched lots of Reply 1988. Ryu Jun Yeol though... <3 Haha. Very content staying at home with Ellie. Did some work too. Finding joy in days of rest like today.
