Anne of Green Gables
All silver and shadow and vision of things not seen. We couldn't enjoy its loveliness any more if we had millions of dollars and ropes of diamonds. you wouldn't change into any of those women if you could, would you want to be that white-lace girl and ware a sour look all your life, as if you'd been born turning up your nose at the world
Anne of Green Gables
Gilbert Blythe wasn't used to putting himself out to make a girl look at him and meeting with failure. She SHOULD look at him, that red-haired Shirley girl with the little pointed chin and the big eyes that weren't like the eyes of any other girl in Avonlea school. Gilbert reached across the aisle, picked up the end of Anne's long red braid, held it out at arm's length and said in a piercing whisper: "Carrots! Carrots!" Then Anne looked at him with a vengeance! She did more than look. She sprang to her feet, her bright fancies fallen into cureless ruin. She flashed one indignant glance at Gilbert from eyes whose angry sparkle was swiftly quenched in equally angry tears. "You mean, hateful boy!" she exclaimed passionately. "How dare you!" and then - thwack! Anne had brought her slate down on Gilbert's head and cracked it - slate not head - clear across.
A Fight
a fight is like a fire. you think you have it under control, you think you can stop it whenever you want, but before you know it, it's a living, breathing thing and there's no controlling it and you were a fool to think you could.

Remus: *plaits Sirius's hair for quidditch matches*
Sirius: *squeals internally and continues to brag about his amazing boyfriend's talents*
Sirius: And you promise you will do this every match?
Remus: I promise
emotional attachment
When you read a book that you didn't think you had any emotional connection with, and then you read a sad post and suddenly become really over-emotional.
Wolfstar
Remus: talking about how unloveable he is.
Sirius: *visibly sweating*

Ways to make a letter more personal.
- tea or coffee-stained paper,
- special methods of folding paper,
- handwritten letters,
- flower pressings,
- the date of when the letter was written,

- a recipe that you use often or enjoy,
- old tickets from galleries, movies, and performances, even train tickets.
A Winters Promise
"Ophelia popped her head around every half-opened door and pressed her nose against every window. Peacocks were freely strutting around on the large table in the lounge. In a theatre auditorium, to rapturous applause, two men were simulating a duel while declaring poetry. In the garden, young aristocrats were enjoying a motor race between the flowerbeds. Beneath the thick fog of the smoking rooms, many nobles had lost their wigs, while some, on the other hand, were wearing little but their wigs. In the library, elderly ladies were reading licentious tales aloud to each other."
- Christelle Dabos, A Winters Promise, page 280
