Just vibrate good thoughts ✨
Creativity and Energy
Do you feel like your creativity is currently shelved or put on the back burner? Like do you have all these bottled up ideas or desires you are looking to implement but find every excuse in the book instead? “The timing is not right, the kids are too young, after I get a degree, when I loose the weight, when the house is clean, if only I can....”
Well I think we’ve all been there at some point in our lives. The little pleasure of procrastinating! We make excuses so good that we actually feel relieved for not “having” to do the little thing that we know will help our future, our health, our family. Well what if I told you that by “shelving” your deepest desires you are actually causing more harm to your being, to your soul, to your energy flow (Your Chi).
The downfall
Believe it or not, by not letting our creative juices run wild we begin to tire very easily, we begin to loose that youthful happy aspect of us. The sad part of putting your deepest desires aside is that we tend to distract ourselves by engaging in thoughtless activities; too much screen time, short lived pleasures, or engagements you wish not attend because you can't say no. By shutting out that little voice inside of you that reminds you of your life purpose doesn’t mean it will go away. In fact it will make you feel uneasy, fear will begin to creep in, then doubt in your abilities, then you’ll begin to feel insecure about what you wanted to do in the first place. “Perhaps it’s just not meant to be!” Then you’ll probably indulge in some sort of feel good food and binge watch something on Netflix because it’s just easier to please your ego.
The Benefits
When you do start letting those creative juices unleash, you actually begin to feel more empowered. Your confidence level goes up because “look what I can do!” You start tapping into that part of yourself that acted without fear of judgement, fear of failure, you are creating from the heart. When we are in this state we actually feel closer to God because we were meant to co-create, to manifest, to feel joy and love, at all times just like our creator.
Getting your Chi back
So how does one get back into the groove of creating? By creating!! It doesn’t matter how small or how little time you put in, just do or make something that makes you feel good! Whether it’s painting, writing, brainstorming, or sewing, just do something that comes from YOU! Birthing something of your own, that you enjoy, not only gives life to something new, but it also increases your life force. In my opinion, people in creative endeavors tend to live longer and stay healthier because they have an outlet for their bodies to unleash surpressed emotions.
So wear your invisible crown and keep replenishing your energy - you creative being you!
Magically Yours,
Leslie
What is Reiki?
So what is Reiki?
I’ll give you my short version.
Reiki was originally founded by a Buddhist named Mikao Usui in Japan in 1922. Reiki energy helps the receiver relax and promotes healing for ones body, mind, and spirit. Feelings of peace, confidence, and wellbeing are often reported after a session, along with miraculous results. Some of my clients have described a feeling of elevation and felt as if their bodies were floating in the air. Rei means “Universal life” and Ki means “energy” So in other words Reiki is energy coming from our creator AKA God. Because Reiki energy is universal and coming from God there are no religious ties to it. People all over the world from all races and religions practice Reiki.
How exactly does it work?
In order to activate the Reiki energy a practitioner (the person wanting to perform Reiki) is first “attuned” by a Reiki Master (The teacher). What in the world is an attunement? It comes down to the teacher being a conduit of energy (Ki) from our creator (Rei) through their head and down through their hands. The reiki Master will activate the energy by drawing a series of symbols and doing specific hand movements over the practitioners aura. Ok so that may seem a little weird if you’re a skeptic, but I promise, one can really feel the energy come through! It’s almost like unlocking the next level through passwords for special powers in a video game. So once the attunement is completed the receiver is considered a reiki level one practitioner and is able to give reiki healings themselves.
Reiki can also be performed on oneself, animals, plants, and situations that have stagnant energy that may need a little ooomph. At Reiki level 2 one is able to send reiki energy through distance and time to help ail others. For example an uncle in the hospital that may live far from you, or even a situation in the past that needs some emotional healing. Reiki can only do good, and never harm. Sending energy to someone is like praying for them except they may physically feel something (More on that below) .
The way I see it, receiving reiki is like getting an oil change. The car won’t run healthy without maintenance and care. The new reiki energy helps move stagnant energy, push out toxins, unwanted energy, and balance ones chakras/ energy points (that’s a whole other blog). When one has balanced chakras and continuous new flow of energy (including healthy food) the body, mind, and soul feel at its best. When a vehicle is relieved of dirty oils and receives new fluids and oils, it runs at its best and helps ensure longevity.
What to expect?
Before your first reiki session you’ll be asked to sign a release form for liability purposes and perhaps a health questionnaire, before taking care of commodities. The Reiki practitioner will then guide you to where the session will take place. Most likely they will ask you to remove your shoes before asking you to lay down on a massage table or something comfortable. The session will then commence by receiving energy from your head down to your feet. Some practitioners physically touch certain energy points on the body, while others are hands off. I was taught hands off, if you’re concerned about being touched you may want to inquire about the practitioner’s technique. Some people feel heat coming off the practitioners hands, while others feel a coldness. Some of my clients have reported a “pulling sensation” or release at certain points of their body. If the body has had injury, you may feel a tender feeling or tingling in that area. Nothing to fear though, the energy just goes where the body needs it. And like I said earlier, Reiki can only help! Some people get emotional and begin to cry, perfectly normal; the body is just releasing old emotions or pains. Some people even fall into deep sleep during the session, also very normal; just a way of the body accepting the energy to heal itself. You know like the saying when one isn’t feeling well; “rest is best!” The session should be around 30-60 minutes, but everyone is different, the reiki will still help no matter the time.
Once the session is complete the practitioner will gently tap your shoulder to inform you that they are finished. They’ll advise you to drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins. You’ll then have a quick discussion of how you felt during the session. If the practitioner is sensitive or psychic they might share impressions they received or felt during the session, but don’t expect that. So there you have it! Easy peachy, and harmless!
Because Reiki is a form of therapy, one should schedule in ongoing sessions to receive maximum benefit. Some prefer once a month, while others like once a week or once a quarter. Everyone’s body and energy is different, only you know what works for you.
