While it seems like everyone from Barack Obama to Jay Bilas is picking MSU to reach at least the Final Four (giving me great anxiety) -- I'm still trying to fill out my bracket to win the billion.
We had a little fun recreating the Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake #Hashtag skit and made it March Madness worthy.
Tip 1: Emotions do not belong in your bracket. You can’t pick a team just because you love them. And don’t pick against a team just because you hate their coach or players.
Tip number 2. When it comes to the tournament advance the number one and two seeds through the first round because in basketball 1> 16 and 2>15.
Tip 3: Pick a 12 seed to beat a 5 seed. In 23 of the last 25 years a 12 seed has beaten a 5.
Tip 4: Advance no more than 2 number one seeds through to the Final Four. In 23 of the last 29 years no more than 2 number ones have advanced to the Final Four and only 1 time in tournament history have all four number ones made it to the Final Four.
Tip number 5: Pick schools named after states or cities. Do not pick schools named after people---unless they’re Duke.
Tip number 6: In 26 of the last 29 years only a 1, 2 or 3 seed has won the national championship. So, don’t think you’ll be the first pick a 14 seed to win it all and get it right. It’s as simple as 1, 2, 3.

Michigan State cruised past Michigan in the Big Ten tournament finale this evening. But, more importantly, we all got to witness this lovely BJ/Izzo bear hug. I die.

As we await Michigan State's first Big Ten tournament game vs. Northwestern tonight, let's take a look back at one of the greatest tournament moment's of my life.
The Spartans' 2010 tournament run, which ended in a 52-50 Final Four loss to Butler, gave me a lifetime of panic attacks. But, this buzzer beater by Korie "I left the team for some shady reasons but this moment makes Spartans love me forever" Lucious will forever give me chills--brrrr. And anxiety, because if Delvon ducked half a second later this would have been a sad story. For those of you who didn't see the duck I speak of, re-watch at the 1:23 mark.
Side Note:
While we're on the topic of the Big Ten tournament, can I first start by saying I absolutely love the B10 pinwheel logo. But, secondly, I must say the addition of Maryland and Rutgers next year is going to completely ruin it. Before Jim Delany goes adding teams willy nilly (why else were the Terrapins and Knights added--$$ cough, cough $$) can he puhlease take a look at the school's colors. HALF of the pinwheel will be red next year. First Nebraska, now Maryland and Rugters?? Come on, man. Make. It. Stop.

So bummed my main man Kobs is out for the season. Luckily, SI found some gems of the Black Mamba throughout the years.
Sixteen-time All-Star Kobe Bryant, who underwent surgery in mid-April 2013 to repair a torn left Achilles, played in just six games this season before suffering a fractured lateral tibial plateau in his left knee on Dec. 17. The Lakers originally thought Bryant was going to be out for six weeks, but Kobe will now reportedly be out for the remainder of this season.

Because I was there I'm using all of my own photos even though they mayyyy not be the best of the whole outfit, get over it!
Best Dressed:
Kate Hudson (Atelier Versace) - I mean come on. Movie. Star. This dress was the bomb.com. The bolero cape seriously completed the look. Side note, girl had Versace's best crystal tailor fly out from Paris because she thought the dress needed more sparkle. Stop. Just stop.
Charlize Theron (Dior) - Very regal, very classic, just gorgeous. Simple jewelry with the super low back was perfect.
Lupita Nyong'o (Custom Prada) - She was the bell of the ball Sunday night. I mean Prada legit made this dress just for her! And I loved the Nairobi blue color. She was a little fairy princess.
Cate Blanchett (Armani Prive) - When this dress moved it was stunning. All of the delicate embellishments swaying from side to side. She even got ready in a hotel next to the carpet so she didn't get her dress wrinkled in a limo. Such a star.
Jenna Dewan Tatum (Reem Acra) - This maybe a little off most people's lists, but I frickin' loved this dress! It was sooo elegant and feminine. She was simply stunning!
Worst Dressed -- there weren't too many that missed the mark this year:
Anna Kendrick (J. Mendel) - What is going on here?!?! She's cute as a button, young and fresh. Cutouts, a bejeweled stomach, a high slit (but not high enough) with ruffles? I mean, I think they ate every trend from the past 10 years and threw them up on this dress. You deserve better Anna.
Chrissy Teigen (Monique Lhuillier) - What is wrong with this pattern? Everything. To me it doesn't scream Oscars. And her hair looks like a greasy mess.
Penelope Cruz (Giambattista Valli Haute Couture) - She's so pretty, this dress is so not. Hate the weird drape and that uggggly black bow.
Julie Delpy (Jenny Packham) - I know Jenny makes some beautiful dresses. I've seen them plenty of times on Kate Middleton. This is not one of them. It's not flattering and gives her saggy boobs.
Pharrell Williams (Lanvin) - Normally boys don't make either of my lists because I feel like they're easy. Tailor a suit! But, come on, shorts on a nominee at the Oscars? The Academy deserves better. I know he's musical and dressing weird is his thang. But Jared Leto put on a nice tux. Next time, just go for the colorful bow tie Pharrell.

Oscars Fan Experience.
Last weekend I had the pleasure of sitting in the bleachers on the red carpet at the 86th Academy Awards. It. Was. Frickin'. Awesome! If you know me at all you know there are a few things I luuuuv: sports, fashion, celebrities and movies! So this experience was right up my alley!
When I first received the congratulatory email from People Magazine, I thought it was a scam -- I almost deleted it! Thank goodness I came to my senses. Friday night, my friend Jamie and I, took off for sunny not so sunny when we were there LA!
We spent Saturday exploring Beverly Hills and Disneyland, obvi, but then it was time for the big day! Our arrival time was 8:30 a.m. When we arrived we received our credentials and gift bags! Holla. Then it was time for hair and makeup.
People, CoverGirl, Olay and Pantene were sponsors of the day and they really outdid themselves. Even though we had to arrive so early in the day there was never a dull moment. The hair and makeup booths were a blast. They also provided manicures and massages. Breakfast was brought to us by The Coffee Bean -- sooooo LA -- and we were given a delicious boxed lunch. But, the real fun started at 3!
That's when the clouds parted, the sun came out and stars began to arrive! The first big nominee we spotted was Amy Adams, but from then on it was chaos.
The coolest part of the whole experience, besides being so close to people I never thought I'd see in person, was seeing how they interacted with each other! It was exciting to see who was friends with whom and who wanted to take selfies with each other.
Everyone was obviously gorgeous. So much prettier and skinnier than they appear in movies -- if that's even possible. Jessica Biel's skin? Flaw. Less. Seriously. Anna Kendrick? Tiny. You could put her in your pocket. Brad and Angie? So gorge. And I don't even like Angelina!
Jennifer Lawrence grabbed Chris Hemsworth's wife's belly full of twins. Jason Sudeikis whispered something into fiancé Olivia Wilde's ear. Leonardo DiCaprio wanted a photo with Jamie Foxx. So many moments you don't get to see on TV.
Big shout out to Matthew McConaughey -- not only did he snag the Best Actor statue (Dallas Buyers Club was amazefest USA) -- but he was also the only star who hopped the velvet ropes to shake hands with all the fans in the bleachers!
After the carpet cleared off we were escorted across the street to the El Capitan Theater for the #PeopleVIPs viewing party. The catered dinner was delish! Especially the ice cream bar!! It was a neat experience to watch the show with 700 other people who love movies and celebrities. Everyone was clapping and shouting out who they thought would win. It made the broadcast go by so fast.
All in all it was a once in a lifetime experience and something I'll never forget! Hopefully People doesn't have a rule that you can only win once because I definitely want to enter again and go back.

First comes love, then comes the engagement, showers, bachelorette parties. Then comes marriage. And I think we'll be waiting a while on that baby carriage.

Ashlie's wedding was filled with personal touches and handmade details.
From creating the chalkboard menu to making personalized coloring books for all of the kids, the #HarperryWedding had a ton of crafts. My mom and I were on Grand Rapids' eightWest showcasing some of the items we created to make Ashlie and Nick's day so special.

It's all fun and games at a bachelorette party!
Ashlie's bachelorette party was probably a little different than most. Seeing as I was the only bridesmaid who lived in the state, it was hard to find a weekend that worked with everyone. So, we ended up having the party the weekend of the big day. Because we had her rehearsal the next day at 10 a.m. it was chill--but still a ton of fun!
Decorations:
We bought a "bachelorette" banner from a local party supply store and hung it up on our hotel room door, bathroom mirror and even made Ashlie a sash with the leftover
Balloon aisle - we bought a bunch of balloons to line the entryway of our room and tied photos of Ashlie with Nick, family and friends on the bottoms
"Cheers" banner - we used a Martha Stewart Weddings template
Food/Drinks:
We loaded up on fun and easy snacks: chips and salsa, hummus, goldfish, pretzels, candy, puppy chow, etc
Ashlie's best friend Danielle made the cutest bra and panty cookies
Water, gatorade, wine and ingredients to make Sex on the Beach
Games:
Bachelorette Jeopardy -- this was a super fun way to see how well, or not so well, Ashlie knew Nick
Pin the kiss on the bachelor -- a game we never actually played
Pick the underwear -- everyone brought a new pair of underwear and Ashlie had to guess who they were from
Goodie Bags:
Filled with the essentials: snacks, sweets, Advil, Shout wipes, gum, Gatorade, Starbucks drinks, an agenda of the weekend's events, contact numbers
Each bag was tied with a Bridesmaids tag which said "Ashlie's Final Fling Before the Ring"
Shower time!
My sister, Ashlie, recently got married and as a lover of all things wedding I dove right into helping her with the big day! As maid-of-honor, one of my biggest tasks was to throw her top-notch shower. So, obviously, I hit up Pinterest and Martha Stewart Weddings and let the planning commence.
Theme:
Every good party has a theme right? We decided to go with a Breakfast at Tiffany's brunch--classy, fun and little black dress worthy!
Invitations:
We wanted the invitations to look like Tiffany's boxes. They were fairly easy to make using scrapbook paper, my computer and some white ribbon
We also included a recipe card for guest to fill out and bring with them the day of the shower
Favors:
Each guest had a Ring Pop in a box with their name on it
The Ring Pops were from a local party supply store, the boxes were from Etsy and the pattern I used to wrap the boxes, and for the name tags, were from Martha Stewart Weddings
Centerpieces:
We bought paper mache boxes from Hobby Lobby, painted them Tiffany blue and wrapped them with white satin ribbon
We ordered hydrengeas from a local florist to set inside and topped them with an Ashlie & Co. stick
Food:
We served a bunch of small plates so people had a lot of options and could try a lot without getting too full
Menu: mini caprese salads, summer salads with an orange vinaigrette, chicken salad sandwiches, ham and pork tenderloin sandwiches, vegetable shooters with ranch, quiches and fruit kabobs
We found all of our mini dishes at Bed Bath & Beyond.
Desserts:
Menu: 3 kinds of dessert shooters, stacked wedding cake cookies, cupcakes, ganache kisses, Tiffany's box petit fours
The Ashlie & Co. sign we hung on the dessert table was made using a template from Martha Stewart Weddings
Drinks:
Mimosa bar:
Orange juice, mango nectar, cranberry juice
Raspberries, blackberries, strawberries
Champagne, sparkling grape juice
Water with lemon and lime, sweet tea, unsweet tea, Tiffany blue lemonade
Games:
Famous couples - We wrote down 20 famous men and guests had to guess their famous spouses
He said, she said - We collected 10 quotes from Ashlie and Nick's Facebook pages and guests had to hold up a mustache if they thought Nick wrote it, or lips if they thought it was Ashlie
Advice/dates - guests wrote down marriage advice and/or date night ideas and put them in our Tiffany's card box
Photo Backdrop:
We hung tissue paper balls and fans from a tree in our backyard to serve as the photo backdrop for guests of the shower
All in all everyone had a wonderful time at the shower. It was a perfect way to celebrate Ashlie and Nick's love!
