Panic Room || Patty&You
It was pathetic, really, how dependent Patty was on her mother. Ever since the incident she hadn’t been able to leave the house without having her with her. Not even to make her way to school. Seventeen years old and fear still gripped her and made it nearly impossible to be on her own. But it was a just reason, at least her mother had told her so. As had the doctors that had looked after her during her stay in the hospital.
But Swynlake was supposed to be different. Her mother had assured her of it. And while it was definitely different than back home, there was still things that spiked her anxiety and made her feel as if she was being watched (she knew she wasn’t, had the restraining order to prove it).
Except that was what the medicine she’d been prescribed was supposed to prevent. Had she missed a dose?
Dainty hands rooted around in the large bag held close to her side as she searched for the orange bottles she kept with her always. It embarrassed her, having to be that person, but she knew that without them she’d be reduced to a quivering, stuttering mess (not that she wasn’t that anyways). She fumbled, stopping in the middle of the near empty store, as she dug through her bag. There was a certain frantic jerkiness that swept over her the longer she dug without finding what she was looking for.
Realizing that she had probably left it at home, she turned wide eyes to the door that now seemed to be too far away. Desperation took over as she moved towards the door, seeing only that as she stumbled, not even seeing anyone in her way until she ran right into them. “S-S-S-orry. I d-d-didn’t s-see y-y-you..”
He quietly perused the store, wandering down the aisles hopeful to find something new to eat. Having loved poptarts for so long, he was growing tired of the sugary food, wanting something of more sustenance but everything was so expensive.
Magi felt bad taking foods that were expensive off the shelf to his little mirror world. The boy didn’t have any money, and considering the obvious lack of education on his resume it was doubtful he’d ever be able to get a job that made it affordable to live like a normal person.
So instead he stuck to sauntering around the store, stuffing things into his shirt before escaping through the reflective surfaces into his home.
Turning a corner to head towards the bathroom, he was instantly stopped in his track. An ‘oof’ escaped a lips in his surprise, as he bumped into someone in his hurry. Forgetting to procure the items hidden under his clothing, boxes of granola bars and bags of dried fruits began falling out from under his shirt.
He immediately turned red, unsure how to react. “It’s okay.” he said with a small shrug, “Just... please don’t tell?” he begged, Magi needed food desperately. He had eaten his last poptart yesterday for dinner and wouldn’t be able to come back to the store later, not so soon after being caught.
