“ugh, your mind” - me to myself before doing the absolute dumbest shit imaginable
When you have no sense of self and someone says something about you
Name a more iconic show I dare you
Does anyone else feel, like, a weird inhibition against starting new TV shows? Like, there are shows I want to watch but when I think about sitting down to start it something in me goes “no you can’t just do that.” What am i waiting for? I feel like I need to prepare? Brain: You have to wait. Me: Wait for what??? Brain: WAIT
This has to be the most romantic scene in anime

since people are asking, here’s a list of places you can donate to help the australian bushfires. donating literally $1 means you have done more than our prime minister. (* = can donate internationally; for the other ones you might have to google it)
cfa (VIC firefighters)
rfs (NSW firefighters)*
rfbaq (QLD firefighters)
cfs (SA firefighters)
red cross*
WWF NSW bushfire crisis*
WWF koala crisis* (both WWF links are in aud so use a currency converter if you’re outside aus)
RSPCA NSW
here is a list from the abc (but maybe don’t donate to the salvos or vinnies bc they suck) (x)
WIRES (x)
port macquarrie koala hospital* (if that link doesn’t work there’s a gofundme* / you can buy something here)
gippsland emergency relief fund
bendigo bank bushfire disaster appeal (partnered with the salvos though)
mallacoota fires support fund gofundme*
cudgewa gofundme*
you can find emergency accommodation or can offer your house on the NSW / VIC airbnb website
i’ll keep it updated as i find more
tumblr will always mean a lot to me because it has been, at least, an opportunity to share information that is perhaps not clearly communicated in western media.
for the past several years i’ve struggled to articulate (bc i am not a writer, nor an expert in politics, nor even remotely educated on foreign policy) my feelings about the propaganda that was used to incite the war in iraq in 2003 & the identical propaganda that was used to justify invasion of the levant region via proxies like ISIS and Al-Qaeda in 2011. really, all that i’m qualified to speak on is what i’ve seen with my own two eyes. i’ve tried really hard to maintain that principle here.
And what I’ve seen continuously since 2003 is the regurgitation of the same propaganda by the same “reliable sources” for the same purpose: exerting control over the middle east and other nations of the global south.
#1 WMD (that did not exist) was the tagline for the invasion of Iraq in 2003. It has since been dismantled & rescinded by its very propagandists at the NYT.
#2 The U.S. funding “moderate rebels” and “freedom fighters” in the levant was the tagline for asserting control over the levant – this, again, by the NYT and the like, has been since dismantled and rescinded. We know now that these “moderate rebels” were ISIS and Al-Qaeda factions all along.
What has caused me the most distress and despair is that the same outlets – in particular news sources that are marketed as “reliable & respectable”, have been the ones to sell us the same lie over & over & over, yet these sources are not stripped of their validity.
The illegal assassination of Qassem Soleimani is ALREADY being hailed as a mission to kill a “terrorist” vs. the illegal assassination of the equivalent to an American vice president – an act of war
it is also missing from the record that Soleimani played a very large part in destroying ISIS, and with it, American funded proxies in the region that offered the U.S. influence and control.
What I predict is a similar repetition of the propaganda above:
#3 We needed to kill Soleimani because he is a terrorist. Now we need to invade Iran & Iraq to kill the others. We need to return to 2003.
What I am asking is that, this time, we reject any notion of American imperialism outright. destroy any justification for foreign invasion at all costs. no matter what the argument, american imperialism is a lie. reject it. reduce it to nothing. destroy it before it even has the chance to spread.
we are not going to be able to save the lives of any of the iranis or iraqis that will no doubt die in innocence.
but the LEAST we can do is reject the lie. it is the least we can do.
