someone was hear. someone had heard her. she needed to, quickly quickly, wipe away the tears. she didn’t need, shouldn’t be crying here. where’s her harp? if she played, she could stop. she could hide it better. hands reached out, eyes blinded by tears as she fumbled, searching for her father’s harp… only to freeze when feeling an unfamiliar wood. right. she didn’t have her father’s harp anymore. it was gone, lost, replaced by this… thing. ah, she wouldn’t be able to play properly, it wouldn’t be the same.   ❝ i-i’m sorry. my tears, they just… won’t stop. i can’t stop them, not without… father… ❞

 Listening to the poor girls explanation of her crying, she looked quite sympathetic. What a pity- the girl had lost her father in coming to Isola, it seemed, or perhaps worse, and found that she couldn’t stop crying? She understood well enough. Cassandra gently smiled at the girl, her eyebrows knitted in worry.

“My, that’s certainly a problem, isn’t it...? That’s quite alright, darling, crying isn’t a thing to apologize for.” She offers the hand for her to shake- or hold, whichever she prefers. “I’m Cassandra. Might I try and turn that frown of yours upside down, madam?”

 Cassandra was... a bit of a sucker for things having to do with cute, fuzzy animals. So, when she’d heard about playing a little game of hide and seek with an adorable rabbit, she simply had to come along and join in. (Plus, getting your own ears for a bit? How adorable!)  She’d been searching for a bit now, though, and already she was tired! She gave a breathy laugh, and leaned down on her knees. Fortunately, when she looked up, she laid eyes upon a fellow presumably doing the same task.

 “Pardon me, dearie, but do you think we could team up? I could use a little help!”

 “...My. Someone sounds quite tearful,” Cassandra remarks to herself, looking up the hill to search for the source of such sorrowful sounds. She had been out and about on a lovely stroll outdoors when the sound of crying reached her ears- and, being a tender heart, the old woman figured she ought to investigate.

 Quietly, the sorceress trekked up the hill, much to the chagrin of her knees, and came to the top to lay eyes on a poor girl. “Excuse me, dearie, but why do you weep so? Makes my heart ache to see a girl like you cry!”

 She checks out the book, thanking the librarian, then turns to face Anthony as they exit the library. 

 “My name is Cassandra. It’s a pleasure to meet you, dearie. What about that lovely little coffee shop over there? I’d love to get myself a hot chocolate after I ask around.”

Cassandra's head whips up at Rook's exclamation, and she turns quickly to see where he points! "Oh? What do you see? What do you see?" She squints, putting her hand above her eyes to shield from the sun, and looks very hard for what he saw. She spots... a clearing through the trees! A very lovely looking meadow, if she must say. "Oh, goody! Come, come, let's have a look!" The sorceress gathers her flowers up into her basket, and hurries along towards the meadow, taking the young man's arm as she passes by him.

 “Oh, please. I’ve hardly anything else to do- I’m retired!” She chirps, and begins heading towards the check out desk, gesturing for him to follow. It seems she’s resolute to do this.

 “Besides,” The old woman continues as they stride through the library. “I can’t say I’m not interested myself in what they’d have to say.”

 “I had plan to bide my time and wait a few weeks, at most before talking again. These people seem rather fearful of me.”

 “Fearful?” She strokes her chin a moment, then smiles.

 “Well, darling, that’s hardly a problem. You’ve got me helping you now, yes? If you let me go check out this book, I’d be pleased to assist you in speaking with the locals. I’ve been told I look rather approachable.”

 “I have perused the history section. And the local section but alas I have found nothing in regards to the history of this city. It…seems well hidden or this city is, artificial.” which the latter is a more likely option. 

 “I did not mean to take much of your time. But have you seen the whole library yet?”

 She thinks a moment. Not much in the history section or the local section? His second question gets a light laugh out of her.

  “The whole library? No, darling, it’s quite massive. I haven’t had the chance yet, you see. I wouldn’t mind searching the whole library... but that’s quite inefficient, isn’t it?” Cassandra brings a chin to her hand and paces about in thought, the novel tucked under her arm. “Have you asked around with the locals? I’m sure the lot who lived here before we all started poofing in would know a bit!”
