Hello everyone! I am here (a bit ahead of schedule) to bring you this fun and festive event again! I was one of the two mods from last year, but this year it’s just me running the event. You can call me Mod Merry, and I’ll be working hard to make sure it runs just as smoothly as it has in years past.
Everyone probably gets the gist of how these events work, but here are a few things you should know.
Absolutely no nsfw gifts will be allowed. If it’s not PG-13 or below, it’s probably best to not risk it.
Please make sure you are able to finish your gift! If you sign up and cannot complete it for any reason, contact me asap so we can find a backup Santa!
If you sign up and then change your url and do not notify me, I will try to track you down once. If I cannot find you, then you may be disqualified from the event. Please be sure to keep me updated on any url changes!
Have your submit box or instant messages open, please! This is the best way for me to send you all of the information you need to know once you are assigned someone.
Please, do your very best to give your gift-ee what their heart desires! Sometimes what they ask for may sound strange, but if it would make them happy, then do your best to make their wish come true!
Sign-ups will remain open until November 15th! You will receive your match-up shortly after.
Once you receive your match-up, you will have a little over a month to get your gift completed! You are allowed to give them your gift any time between December 20th and New Year’s Eve. I will message everyone throughout the month (especially as it gets nearer to the deadline) with reminders to get their gifts done, but if you get yours done early and are waiting to post it, a message would be appreciated so that you can be checked off the list.
All of that being said, the best way to give your gift-ee their gift is to post it publicly, and tag it under “RFSS2017″, and I will reblog it here. (please make sure it is the first tag you use so that it will appear properly!) If you do not wish for your gift to be public, then please submit it to me so that I may send it to them. It’s preferred that you do not send it to them directly, so I will know that you completed your gift and don’t assign a back-up, but if you MUST send it to them directly, please let me know once you do so. ~*~FAQ~*~ -Are crossovers allowed? What about OCs? Yes! Crossovers and OCs are allowed, IF it still involves Rune Factory characters and themes. For example, asking for a Pikachu drawing is not acceptable, but asking for a drawing of a Rune Factory character with a Pikachu is fine. The same rule applies for OCs. If you have a problem with OCs or crossovers in general, please specify in the sign-up form.
-I’m not good at anything, can I still participate? Anyone can participate, our goal is to spread holiday cheer and happiness! I will accept any form of media, so there are many options. All I ask is that you do not wait until midnight the night before the deadline to start on your gift. Put as much love and effort into it as you can!
-I’m a fanfic writer, how long should my story be? I would recommend 1000 words minimum. There’s no word cap, but please keep it reasonable. Additionally, please put fanfics under a read-more, as they can consume the tag easily, especially for mobile users.
-Can I send my gift-ee an anonymous ask if I need more details about their gift? Yes, absolutely! If they do not have anonymous enabled, feel free to send me a message and I’ll ask for you.
