Seraph has lived in isolation for most of his life, and it’s become his natural state. If he feels threatened, he’ll cut everyone out and go back to being on his own. He prefers animals to people (and, given the choice to rescue a person or a monster, would rescue the monster first). Though he values life, he doesn’t trust other people at all and expects only the worst from them until proven otherwise.

So, people shouldn’t come to expect / take advantage of his kindness. He’s not a pushover. In fact, his attempts to be courteous and respectful are a defense mechanism, really – if the other person feels safe, they’re less likely to launch any sort of attack on him.

He’s not emotionally healthy, either. After having been numb for so long, he’s starting to recover, which can make him unpredictable. He doesn’t understand what’s happening, yet. If he has a sudden burst of anger, he may raise his voice. The tiniest thing can make him laugh or cry for hours.

Emotions and people are not comfortable or familiar for him. He doesn’t actually care for everyone as much as people might think. He’s detached, and still in war mode, so he’s trying to create a safe environment by keeping the peace.

then one day a ship from the sechs empire came to the island. now everyone is not alive & happy, except andrea, who’s just alive (not happy). so andrea took their ship and left the fuckers stranded. also hikari stowed away on the sechs ship, because she was lookin for a relative, but she & andrea made friends and they just wandered around for a while

they eventually met donnovan, seraph, and toby over the course of events
