Perfect encapsulation of what was depicted in the picture: anyone still maintaining liberal principals from even 20 or 30 years ago is now labeled right-wing by the constantly-sprinting-further-left woke progressives, and there are no even mildly conservative stances that are not now routinely referred to by them as “fascist”.
A good example of this is how the only people who actually fought and defeated the Nazis and fascists of WWII are themselves today vilified as “fascists” by anyone indoctrinated into mainstream left-wing ideology, mandatorily taught in every western university. Even thirty years ago, something like this would never have been accepted or promoted as a mainstream position on the left, who in the 21st century have abandoned the working class majority who used to be their base support in exchange for championing more and more splintered and unworkable coalitions of smaller and smaller identitarian minority groups split up into race, sex, gender, sexuality and religion.
The UK Labour Party of today would consider practically everybody who voted for the UK Labour Party of 50 years ago to be racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, transphobic and islamophobic bigots, and so deserving of actual physical confrontation in the streets. Because “it’s always ok to punch a Nazi”.
But the same cannot be said in reverse: you can’t say that Conservatives of today would consider the Conservatives of 50 years and more ago to be far too liberal and accepting of racial minorities, other cultures, gay people, trans people, women’s rights, etc., and so deserve to be physically attacked, cancelled and deplatformed, their statues torn down and whatever else.
Hence, the claim above is self-evidently nonsense.
