I just wanted to add this quote from the peppermint patty peanuts wiki page about Charles M. Schulz and his relationship with his gay cousin. The source here leads to a book that I did not read but the original source is Schulz's wife who confirmed this in an interview. If I can find the interview again I will link it here but uh. just in case someone tries to claim Schulz was a homophobe on this post again.

My wife pointed out to me the other day that apparently most people were literally only taught how to say Sorry and not how to Apologize or even that they are different things so here.

If all you ever do is step 1, not only did you not apologize, but people will rightfully stop believing you and start getting pissed or hurt.

There's a whole generation of kiddos who spent formative years isolated during COVID. They never learned basic social skills like this, and now they're teenagers & young adults.

Combine that with the phenomenon of iPad kids and we're rapidly losing the ability to co-exist peacefully as a society.
