@amayassm
I'm starting a devlog
Do I want to document every step of how slow I am at creation so that everyone will know I physically cannot launch things in a timely fashion? No. But do I have to?
Well, considering the insane amount of AI slop coming out nowadays, absolutely. For the same reason I now try to document my wips instead of posting finished pieces and every other genuine artist now posts screenshots with the drawing software UI, I feel that documenting the process in itself is an essential part of creating anything with your own hands.
So I have a visual novel project. And there is... a concerning amount of visual novel AI crap. It's not good, or even decent, but there is no more effective way to estabilish your work's worth than to show that it took you time, and that it has soul, and that you made it with love. So this is what I will be logging.
Now, to clarify... I have an insane amount of projects. My visnovel script is but one of them. I think I may start actually blogging processes for multiple creative endeavors. Considering my... remarkable.... lack of updates, would you guess I do fibercrafts? Or that I still draw lots of fanart that I don't post anywhere because they're low quality? (Or for things that I don't want tied to my image? I done quite a bit of nsfẁ fanart for friends, I'm an adult with drawing skills, of course I have.)
Like, you wouldn't know I just finished a crochet plushie, or that I've been halfway through a character sheet for my baldur's gate character for half a year now that I can't bring myself to post because it's not to my satisfaction, or that I have made lots of pencil art of my tabletop rpg characters, but it's not finished work, so I don't post it. You wouldn't know I'm sowing together a giant plush d12. You wouldn't know I did a gorgeous nordic pyrography on a leather sheath for my dad's knife. I'm so proud of it, but like... nobody knows. I don't post it. It's not art that gets likes, so why would I?
Well, that ends now. As of today, this blog will contain text posts with all of my trash and lots of written info. You can filter these out if you wish as they will be tagged with wip or log. But I'm logging ALL THE THINGS. Embroidery? Making a clay sculpt? All of it. (Well, not the nsfẃ stuff, but if I do that it's getting registered verbally.)
Next up in my life I'll be pyrographing a wooden pendulum board for divination (Yes I'm into that too. Maybe someday I'll make a tarot deck, card printing is also something I wanna make for mtg tokens!) and some wooden napkin loops for my family. And that's getting DOCUMENTED baby.
If you read this far thank you and tell me if you'd mind seeing bone cleaning or if that's too gross for you! I have bird bones to pick out of my decomposition thingy and I'm dreading opening it, but I might be motivated if I document it. Yes Vulture Culture is ALSO something I do. Yes I have too many hobbies, as you can probably tell.
Bad art is better than no art
Pretty much how I operate online. Just let me rapidly post for couple weeks, then slowly back up into my cozy cave. See you in half a year! 👋✨
I would like to apologize to every single one of my wips ever
I should pin this as a warning
((That time Lae'zel mixed up leucistic and lesbian))
Stupid sketch that I may or may not ever make into an actual drawing (probably not)
Did I post this wip? I think I didn't. That bitch of a raven...
Ohh, so I was looking at my storage and found these! I originally shared them on twitter before yeeting the platform. Anyway, feel free to use! Art memes for your oc :D

A guide to Glazing your art so that AI cannot take it without consent:
Now that tumblr is selling our works to midjourney, here's how to protect yourself. Quote:
Glaze is a system designed to protect human artists by disrupting style mimicry.
It was developed by the same team as Nightshade, a more extreme version that aims to poison datasets taken without consent.
Go to https://glaze.cs.uchicago.edu/ where the official program can be found under "Download Glaze".
Download the appropriate version
wherever your downloads are stored, go there and extract the .zip by right-clicking > extract all, or the button in the file explorer.
Important!! Inside the unzipped folder, check if any folders failed to unzip. This is a common error and glaze will give you an error if any folders remain unzipped!
Find Glaze.exe in your folder and double click to run it. (You can also pin it to start or your desktop for easy access. It doesn't appear in a list of recently installed programs because it's not an install.)
Their cute little UI will notify you that it's downloading resources for a few minutes.
Ready to go!
Select your image(s), settings and an output folder before you run it. (You can even select the same image multiple times if you want it to run a few times with different glazes.) Then Run Glaze.
(It will even kindly run on your graphics card if you have one.)
If any errors occur after clicking Glaze, the darker square will give you some python-related text saying what to do. This was extensively for the devs, do not be alarmed. Go back and check for unzipped folders inside the Glaze folder, that's usually the cause of every mistake.
Let it run for the estimated time. (don't close it before it's done, I've done that by accident lol). The image will just show up in your output folder when it's done.
Booyah! Art Glazed. Art from my art blog with no glaze, default glaze and high glaze:
It will look a bit like compression artifacts, but rather that than a huge watermark on my work.
addendum:
it takes a while to clear up its own cache. Just wait a bit before glazing again because it will take too much memory if you try again immediately.
@ofumofu proposed this as a sashisu meme and my unemployed ass proceeded to spend something like 7 hours on this lol
I also took it as a little chance to experiment with Glazing, now that tumblr decided to sell our data for ai training. So if it seems a little low quality, that's why. The print was low quality too, it's fitting hahaha. Remember to change your blog settings!
They are already selling data to midjourney, and it's very likely your work is already being used to train their models because you have to OPT OUT of this, not opt in. Very scummy of them to roll this out unannounced.
here's some instructions for anyone who doesn't know how to opt out:
login in on desktop, it's not available on mobile yet
click "Account"
click on your blog
go to "Blog Settings"
go to "Visibility"
Scroll down to the bottom option
turn the toggle ON, not off
you will have to do this individually for each sideblog you have too, no way to do it for each account in one go
Forgot to post this quick maki I made for a friend.
