Ooohhh so much to talk about with Ire dreammmm
I think the main theme of it is that it sees Rezek as not just this unreachable figure, but that it sees Rezek as this out of comprehension being compared to it.
I think the Sun in the dream is actually Rezek and the wizzrobe atop the statues is Ire, because Ire is the one following at Rezek’s heels, trying to reach its same level. The wizzrobe atop the statues is the version of Ire that reaches that point, but as Ire gets closer and closer to that idealized version of itself, the Sun gets further and further away.
And as it climbs higher and higher it climbs over statues of Wizzrobes which u think symbolizes how Ire will only be able to reach that idealized version of itself by using others because unlike Rezek who through the experiences it had with Frifer and Brine learned how to live for others rather than only itself, Ire is so desperate to prove it can become as strong as Rezek just on its own and so it’ll use as many people and as many other Wizzrobes to reach that idealized version of itself.
So basically I think this dream is foreshadowing that Ire will become a major villain in the inbetween of the BOTW and TOTK arcs—
OKAY LOOK I KNOW I KEEP BRINGING UP MY IRE KOBB FOIL AND IRE MAIN VILLAIN THEORY EVERY TIME ITS CHARACTER GETS THE SPOTLIGHT BUT I SWEAR IT MAKES SENSE AS A POSSIBLE FUTURE PLOT POINT WHEN WE ACTUALLY GET THERE IN TEN YEARS
anyway I like the subtle rebellion they’re doing
Because yeah of course bums like the Hateno villagers are gonna create a system that requires a lot of maintenance and responsibility to keep in check and then just stumble when it actually comes time to do that responsibility they made

Me trying to have some sense of forethought going "hmmmm if I give my characters a deadline then I'll force myself to not take my sweet time to killing The Calamity. Unfortunately I know exactly who is in charge of my own deadlines and she is too good at weaseling out of them.
Though I will say the biggest arcs before the final battle have (mostly) reached their main climax by now! The BIGGEST ones being Wren's Squad defection and literally every other subplot somehow weaving into it lmao. That absolutely took up a bulk of my writing strength trying to draft and write everything surrounding that, how they'd escape, how many other subplots would interlock, and how to make it a satisfying resolution while still leaving some questions unanswered and new threads started.
Like there's so much that I set up with Wren's Squad that will very likely bleed past BoTW and have rammys for the rest of the story and I'm so fucking excited for that. And in the meantime I can mostly just write squad interactions in Kakariko now that the worst is behind them and Gale and Donovan are safe :D
THAT SAIDDDDDDDDD there's a lot I still need to wrap up before the deadline but hopefully once Recksin sets off back into the underground that'll be the last subplot I have to juggle. Cuz right now I got Akkala/Kakariko protags, Sterre's journey, Hateno's bullshit, Wilderness Vengeance Trio, and Abacus Alone. But I do anticipate the next few days to not take as long as the past ones kjhafdskl

I wrote it so that Ire's dream could have many different interpretations just like real dreams so I will keep it a hush-hush on my exact process but I LOVE your interpretation aheehee
The idolization of Rezek by Ire is just such an important facet of its character. How it's both on a blind quest for vengeance but also cannot help itself but become utterly devoted to Rezek even if said devotion will be to ultimately kill it. Like its previous scene with Jay and how it refused to believe Rezek was at one point an ordinary Wizzrobe trapped in that "might makes right" mindset that it's still in. It's deified Rezek, thereby making its planned task akin to slaying a god. Its forcing both of them into these mythological boxes of god and godslayer and rejects any evidence of the contrary.
So Rezek being the sun in Ire's dream would fit as it seeing Rezek as more concept than tangible mortal, as an unattainable *thing* to reach and drag down.
AND YES CLIMBING THE STATUES REPRESENTING DRAGGING OTHERS DOWN WITH IT TO ATTAIN ITS GOAL WHILE STILL REMAINING AT THE EXACT SAME HEIGHT NO MATTER HOW HARD IT TRIED TO CLIMB THROUGH SHEER FORCE GRAAAAHHHHHHGH

I really do love the quadrant of angst I set up between Rezek-Kobb-Ire-Runwhir and how Ire and Runwhir have each been changed by Rezek and Kobb in turn but have come out with completely stark worldviews. The way Runwhir and Ire clash distinctly mirrors how Kobb and Rezek used to clash and ohhhhh I LOVE IT I LOVE THE RESIDUAL MARKS MY CHARACTERS MAKE ON OTHER CHARACTERS AND HOW THAT AFFECTS THEIR DYNAMICSSSSSSSSSSS
