They’re super important because they control prey animal populations, of prey animal populations get out of control it can heavily and possibly irreversibly damage flora, other fauna, and land. A keystone predator is literally irreplaceable

Not only are shark bites PRETTY DAMN RARE, but they can be easily avoided by taking steps like not swimming where sharks are and utilising specially designed swim suits that prevent the sharks from mistaking you for food, and even shark mail, that stops their teeth piercing your flesh if they do bit you! You can learn how to drive them off in case of an attack and not swim alone to increase your chances of survival, should the worst happen! Sharks, the majority of the time, bite out of curiosity because they don’t have hands. Don’t look interesting. (Also they are absolute BABIES and you should interact them with the guidance of a professional if you have the chance.)

You Don't Need To Normalize It.

So a conversation I had recently about genderfluid and trans just made my head hurt in the end. The last bit of the conversation saying about how these, and many other mental disabilities, need to be or are normalized.

No. The problem with people today is we feel we must normalize everything from physical abnormalities to mental problems. However, it’s not right to feel tired, sad, depressed, 24/7 for no reason. It’s not normal to think you have a penis or vagina when you don’t. It’s not normal to believe you are an animal or fictional character (unless you’re a child). Saying these are normal is like saying…it’s normal for someone to stop breathing if they eat fish or normal to have sky-high sugar levels after drinking a glass of juice. This normalization is downright dangerous because it could lead to one believing because it’s normal they don’t need treatment. I remember once hearing about a woman who had a prolapsed anus after childbirth. She had to physically remove her fecal matter every day by hand. She did this for years because she thought it was ‘normal’. There are countless stories like that online and other sources in which people are dealing with things thinking they are 'normal’ when really it’s a problem and must be treated. The other issue is that people view abnormal as a bad thing. They hear a medical issue they have and all the sudden this means they are broken or bad or wrong and that’s not how this works. Instead of normalizing abnormal problems we need to realize them for what they are MEDICAL PROBLEMS, but remove the negative stigma by addressing them in a positive manner and not treating people bad because of this. Whether it’s transgenderism, autism, depression, bi-polar, physical abnormalities, physical health problems, or any other mental chemical imbalance we need to realize that they are abnormal and that’s ok, just seek proper treatment because the goal is to have a good quality life.

On a more earnest note, can I just say how deeply, deeply sorry I feel for Emilia Clarke right now? Daenerys was the character that made her career, she started playing her at 22 and has spent a DECADE of her life bringing her to life. She worked through TWO aneurysms, put her entire body and soul into this role, for a third of her life, only to have the character destroyed in less than a season. She’s poured so much love into playing Dany, and you can tell she’s giving it her all this season even through the bad writing that she apparently broke down in tears when she first read. want a beautiful casket for a viewing, but think burning or burying an expensive piece of hardwood is a waste of money and trees? rentals exist.

you don’t need a coffin for cremation. the minimum requirement is that the body be in a “cremation container,” which is a simple cardboard box.

home funerals are an option. you don’t need to hand the body over to a funeral home, and you can keep their involvement to a minimum.

natural burial sites exist. you can have your unembalmed body straight up thrown in the dirt to be tree food, if you want.

there are a lot of funeral homes that will prey on your ignorance and vulnerability in order to get as much money out of you as possible. they may imply optional certain services are legally mandatory, steer you away from cheaper options, charge additional costs for what’s supposed to be all-inclusive services, etc.

one person’s death is another person’s profit. know your rights, do your research, and apply the same scrutiny you would to any other business.

It seems that it’s usually the families wanting a respectful and nice funeral, regardless of the cost, because that’s something that they should be allowed to have. Non-embalming and throwing your loved ones corpse out to be tree food isn’t something that sits well with most people.
