Stupid. Fucking. Shoes. This was the reason she avoided muggle items of clothing. But the gift had been a Christmas one, a pair of muggle converse. One minute she had been up, book in hand, the next she stepped on the loose lace, faceplanting rather hard on the stone floor beneath her. She heard Amelia’s voice and let out a groan- “Is there a way we can rewind five seconds?” she murmured, sitting herself up and wrinkling her nose before inspecting for any damage. Deeming her face intact, she shook off the offer of help, quickly standing back up and grabbing her book. “Nothing hurt- just my pride and dignity. Kermit?” she questioned, with a puzzled look.
“Oops?” Amelia said, glancing down at the other’s shoes. Converses were her favorite but she could tell the the laces had been the culprits and that brought back memories of her face planting at her aunt’s birthday party. “If it helps you feel better I didn’t even see you fall, but I bet it was graceful.” She commented with a nod. “Yes, Kermit the frog. He’s a frog puppet with the most beautiful facial expressions.”
