Apparently some people still need to hear this so: using an 'ai checker' is still using ai. If you are feeding someone's fic to one of these checkers, you will still not be sure their fic is ai because they are not 100% accurate, but you can be 100% sure that you are using ai. For fic. Furthermore you are doing the work of an ai scraper for them. You are, personally, feeding the machine. There is no actual excuse for using an ai checker on fanfic as a hobby. YOU are the problem.

If you think a fic is ai, mute it and move on. That's it. That's all you do.

Seen anything interesting on your hikes lately?

I've seen several moose. In fact, my path has been blocked by moose twice. I saw a bald eagle on Saturday at the beach, that was also cool.

As someone who once had to deal with Moose, and now has to deal with Gators-

I'll take the Gators.

Moose also have an extremely high iron content! Very good for people with iron deficiency.

I don't mind the moose, honestly. They're good for stories. Sure, you can't hit their snouts with a frying pan like you can a gator, but there are almost always shrubs and trees to duck through to provide escape.

It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!

I do love that you can see the influence of Tolkien meaning for Eowyn to die throughout her arc. That girl just screams "doomed by the narrative". She's set up for this grand yet tragic death, and wants for nothing else than a grand exit and a glorious end to all things.

Shaming people with such an illness indeed doesn’t help – but what does help is not glamorizing such behavior and not making women feel like they have to starve themselves!

I have never seen a single man say anything positive about the women who look this way. In fact, it's the exact opposite.
