ZAKI:
HE STARES AT HER WITH A VACANT EXPRESSION. ‘if you know what i mean’ — was it completely awful that zaki hadn’t a single clue what she meant by that. the statement leaves him with two options. 1) he could nonchalantly roll back his head, exhale a halfhearted laugh, and nod — making it seem like he knew what it was she was going on about or 2) he could simply just shake his head, and continue being brutally honest and maybe unlike other girls, in her drunken haze she would find it endearing. a minute of silent contemplation and zaki finally decides to go with the feeling in his gut. ❛ no — i actually…, i don’t know what you mean. ❜ he speaks as a blanket of innocence falls over him. long lashes fluttering against his raised cheekbones, zaki lets out a weak laugh. ❛ oh no, it’s okay. you’re not so bad — think i’ve dealt with much worse, you could always be face down over a toilet, ❜ he says with a weak shrug. he’s been there many times before. sober as he caresses a friend’s back, as they empty the load of the night’s liquor into his toilet. nodding obediently to her requests ( he has the tendency to be a little bit passive at first meeting ), zaki raises a brow at her. ❛ a walmart ?? are we cooking — that might not be such a good idea. i mean, if you’re hungry i’m sure there’s a fast food joint open late. personally, i’m not much for mcdonalds — the quality of the meet makes me cringe but…, maybe a burger king, it’s slightly better…, i think. ❜
THE PROBLEM WITH HIS INNOCENT RESPONSE and expression was that not only had she managed to find it endearing, but the smallest of flutters came from her chest. it was like some sort of bird or butterfly had been swallowed in to the deep confines of her damaged body, and the only thing it had needed to wake up was the innocence of a single boy. but that innocence needed to be taken away, which was merrie’s current and only mission. well, and to get food, but that could be taken care of quickly. ❛ that’s alright, sweetheart. ❜ it wasn’t her fault that the pet name had slipped out so easily. maybe, merrie could blame him ?? except, she wasn’t sure she could blame him for anything. damn him and those long lashes that seemed to flutter endlessly. ❛ i’ll make sure you find out later -- either for explanation, or maybe a little demonstration. ❜ her words were accented with the subtle peppering of a smirk, and glance in his direction. ❛ burger kind sounds fine. we can skip the food entirely if you want ?? i’m sure i’ll pick something up on the way back to the dorms later. right now, i want you to have a little fun because it does't seem your sweet little head has done anything bad -- well, ever. ❜
