Things I've picked up from nature
STUCK IN A RUT Sometimes we just feel a little overwhelmed and don’t know where to start or where to get inspiration from. There are so m
Five ways to style product photos at home using resources you already have or have easy access to get.
Photos taken January 2022.
Picked up this scarf in Edinburgh a few months back whilst @missrita_e was visiting. I got chatting to the guy in the shop and turns out it was made here in Hawick. I don't really buy brand new clothes anymore, after working in retail for so long and watching documentaries on fast fashion, I've cut back on unnecessary buying. We are all guilty of buying just for the sake of buying, especially when you live in the big city and feel like you need to have the brightest new clothes. It's nice to actually buy something that was made locally by smaller businesses, something that will last for years instead of a couple of weeks. You can't be perfect with trying to help and save the planet (and arguably should it be our responsibility when the big corps do most of the damage?!) but nevertheless making small changes like buying UK made things is a good way to go ✨✨
This afternoons doodling and sketching. In a bid to stay off of my phone and have more time not glued to my screen editing and sending emails, I've been giving myself two hours in the afternoon for drawing inspiration and reading from the many books I've picked up over the years. I'm calling these my artists hours - obvs inspired by Julia Camerons practice of Artists Dates. And the book is the encyclopedia of typefaces, 1962. 🌿
A very misty day in the borders, it definitely adds a depth to the beautiful scenery 😍🎃
Tis the season for candles, especially with how dark it's getting in the evenings and mornings.
This candlestick and fabric was picked up at the charity shop the other week for under a fiver 🕯️
One from earlier in the year at Priorwood Gardens in Melrose 🌼
Found this train stub on eBay for 99p, I couldn't help but put a bid in, I love the typography and also soo curious where the person was going and what they were doing on the day this was issued.
Road to Glencoe 😍 can't wait to explore this part of Scotland more when it gets a little snowy.
