Favorite Marta and Fina Moments - Part 186 Sueños de Libertad, Ep. 378
They’re setting something up which I don’t like which is this: Fina, Marta thinks, not only left, but she left even though she didn’t have to, and she left without saying goodbye properly (pero como a podido dejarme así?). In Fina’s letter there is the explicit instruction for Marta to go on with her life, to be happy. I see what’s happening but I am a little nauseated by its immediate introduction.
Regardless, Marta reacted exactly the way I expected her to, which is to go about her day while we the audience knows she’s falling apart inside. Marta B is quite good at showing us that without the major tears and drama, because Marta dlR doesn’t get to do that. We glimpse moments, but never the full weight of what she is feeling. She is quietly devastated.
(There's also the question of the totality of what's happened hitting its mark. She doesn't know what we know. She thinks she can still find her, that she has help from P.)
It’s the tear falling onto the letter for me…
