MerMay Book Rec

It’s a MerMay Monday and I am here to recommend the newest book I have been obsessed with, “Mermaid in Manhattan” by Jessica Gadziala! I have been smiling the whole time reading it and falling in love with the whole cast of unique characters and getting some sorely needed laughs. The worldbuilding has so much whimsy that I have been missing in my life lately and I am so utterly enchanted by this book. 

If you are a sucker for mermaids, arranged marriages, rom coms, with taste, pick this up! You won’t be disappointed!

I’m off to go and grab a physical copy myself for a lovely little shelf trophy.

Series Spotlight Ruinous Love Trilogy

I want to shout out three of my favorite BAMF FMCs from Brynne Weaver's Ruinous Love Trilogy. Sloane, Lark, and Rose are incredibly strong and brilliant women who I adore. I love their friendship and unique personalities that truly stand out. This trilogy is amazing and I highly recommend it if you are looking for strong FMCs, dark romcoms, sexy Irish brothers, and a great time! Don't just wait for the Butcher and Blackbird movie, pick up the trilogy now! Leather and Lark is my favorite!! The audiobooks have had me laughing and shivering from delight the whole way through!!!

Series Spotlight - Beasts of the Briars

Beasts of the Briar is a spicy Why Choose Romantasy Beauty and the Beast retelling series by Elizabeth Helen with high fae princes and an adorkable librarian FMC who is also totally a bad ass willing to fight for her loves and is my most recommended series!

I am nearly done with the fourth (and my favorite) book of the series, Broken by Daylight, and so excited for the next one, Frozen in Stardust releasing in April.

Totally need to grow this fandom because I am absolutely losing my mind and need to scream, cry, throw up and pray that book 7 ends in a HEA for all the princes and Rosie because IDK how I will survive!

He’d been expecting to see either men jumping overboard or debris from the flame-engulfed ship striking the water but it seemed to be the opposite. Something, or rather someone, surfaced from the depths and stared up at him with horrified inhuman eyes.

Scales littered her face, neck, and collar from what Touya could see and three slits on the side of her neck shifted in time with her breaths. Gossamer white hair, glittering like a fire opal from the flames’ overhead light trailed behind her like an oil slick. When she opened her mouth to speak, rows of razor sharp teeth had Touya’s breath hitching.

Mermaids were once creatures of land, cursed to the sea after man acted on superstition. Each needed to kill 1000 men before they could return to shore. Touya, having spent the last 11 years as a mermaid, is very close to getting his thousandth mark. But between his ambitions and a friendly feathered friend (or maybe more than a friend...), things aren't going to go as smoothly as he believes.
