With the end of the year approaching and the new year on its way, I thought it would be a good time to share a little snippet about each of my books that are going to be available in the upcoming year.

I've added in the gender/sexuality of the pairings in each book, as well as how neurodivergent they are (i.e. coded or explicit) in case those are things you like to look for (or avoid) in your romance books. I ADORED THIS BOOK. I love Ali Hazelwood’s writing so much and this one blew me away.

I think Scarlett may be my new favourite Ali Hazelwood character. She’s just so…real. She’s dealing with so much trauma and she’s fairly self aware about some of it but honestly very oblivious about other parts of it. I was really glad therapy was a big part of her story and that she eventually started opening up more in her sessions.

My heart went out to her so much, so many times, for so many different reasons. But I think the thing that hit me the hardest was her loneliness. It was palpable. She was well-liked, but never felt she was anyone’s first choice. She got along with everyone but didn’t really have close friends. And I just…felt that deeply.

Her friendship with Pen meant EVERYTHING to me. The fact that they got the third act breakup treatment actually gutted me lmao. But I loved how honest they were with each other in the patch up of this, how much their love for each other shone through.

Scarlett and Lukas had SO much chemistry. It was clear from the start how good they were together. But this really is a slow burn. It starts as just sex and it takes Scarlett a long time to realise how she feels and even longer to actually acknowledge it. I loved the progression of their relationship, how open and honest and free they could be with each other.

I just really enjoyed this book ok.
