during past fights, how long has the site gone down in the beginning? like a few hours, a day, etc
Anywhere between two to three days maximum seems to be the average. However, last year, the site held up surprisingly well; some users have reported that the site was slow, but still up for the first day.
In any case, please plan for the site to be down or extremely slow for at least the first day or two.

I just have been putting a lot of thought as go how Iβm going to address the fact that Aoi is trans in Amiss. While this in no way affects the plot, itβs an important detail that I donβt want anyone to gloss over when reading this story. This is what I have so far in regards to a βrevealβ.
βI need your Oracle beadβ. Riku tensed up at the question.
She and Aoi were setting up for the night and she had been enjoying the calm. Their group finally had a decent spot to rest for the night and Riku was currently sprawled out on the bed. She looked over at the boy who was unpacking his supplies. The question sounded like he was seconds from running away again, but his actions would suggest otherwise. He was currently unpacking his maps, making sure nothing was torn or damaged from the rough trip. He laid them out carefully on the side table, placing the candlestick on top to make sure they lay flat. Riku sat up before answering him, βWhy do you need it all of a sudden? I know yours broke, but thatβs kind of asking a lot.β
Aoi looked over at Riku, sighing before replying, βI need to get in contact with Liz. I know you havenβt been able to master contacting spirits through yours, and honestly even if you did contact Riot Iβm not so sure heβll help you. So far heβs the only spirit youβve been able to contact on purpose. Liz has always been there for me and I can summon her without any issues.β The words stung, but Riku couldnβt argue that.
But to change my bead so only he could use it. Itβs scary. What if I end up needing the second chanceβ¦? The thought made Riku nervous.
He was right however - Riot was an arrogant spirit that wanted nothing to do with his status as an Oracle during his life, and even after. The times that Riku actually managed to call his spirit he just blew her off or tried his best to annoy her into dismissing him. The Oracle beads provided Riku comfort, but by no means was a good support to her. Although⦠This could work in Rikus favor. She always thought Aoi was a mystery.
βOkβ¦ Iβll give it to you, if you give me something in exchange.β
βWhat on earth could I give you? I donβt exactly travel with a good amount of things Ri.β Aoi shook his now empty bad at her to prove his point. He wasnβt annoyed, but after the long day they had his tone sounded more aggressive than usual.
βNot a possession of yours, Iβ¦ want you to tell me something about you. Something from your past. Something Cicilia knows about you.β
βSomething Cicilia knows about me? Donβt tell me youβre jealous of the Queen.β
Rikuβs cheeks heated up, βIβm not jealous. She just knows you better than anyone else.β
With that Aoi moved to sit next to Riku, giving her a questioning look. He couldnβt help but smile at her before replying, βAnd why would you want to know about me?β
βBecause Iβ¦.β Riku paused, trying to find her words. I like you. βIβ¦ want to get to know you better. You always run off so fast, I think itβs time we had time to just. Talk. About ourselves. What lives we had before this mess. Have a conversation as friends.β
βYou want to get to know me betterβ¦ βcause Iβm always running away?β
βItβs more than that,β Riku sighed not wanting to elaborate. Aoi didnβt push her to continue, ββ¦is it a deal?β
Aoi sighed, leaning back on his arms, βYeah, okay - Iβll tell you about my family. You might like this one - we were a band of traveling entertainers.β
Riku couldnβt help her snort. Aoi glared at her.
βSorry-sorry!β Riku put her hands up in defense. She couldnβt imagine Aoi as a performer. He was way too serious. βSoβ¦ Entertainers? Like a circus?β
βDo I look like I know how to juggle?β Riku laughed at Aoiβs expression. βNo it was more of a storytelling troupe. We would travel all over the world and tell stories of whatever lands we passed through. I was so young when I got separated from my family, but I remember them taking every opportunity to just, fluff up even the tiniest story they were ever told. Someone in a foreign land could sneeze and my aunts and uncles would be talking about how it moved a mountain. Shook the lands. Created some sort of monster to awaken from its slumber. They would never create stories to speak badly of a person or a place. They were all very kind people. Very strict when growing up, but they would make everyone laugh. They were all very funny storiesβ¦β Aoi chuckled before continuing on, ββ¦no one knows where those entertainers went, but time to time I hear some jokes that are so familiar.β
βThatβs amazing!β Rikus eyes lit up immediately, βI wonder if they kept preforming or if they stopped when you were separated. Have you tried to find them?β
βNo. I havenβtβ Riku was shocked by that. She was still trying to find where her family ended up after the village attack, and was so sure that Aoi would be trying to do the same. Softly she asked, βWhy havenβt you tried to find them?β
βItβs not that I donβt want to, itβs just that Iβ¦ I donβt think I can find them. Even if by some miracle I do they might not believe Iβm their lost child,β Aoi sounded very serious when he said this, his tone very soft. Sad. Riku leaned back to match his gaze.
βWhat do you mean? How could they not believe your theirs?β
βI uh,β Aoi looked away, βWhen I was separated I was also separated from their strict behavior. They wanted me to act and uh, dress in a way that just didnβt match how I felt inside. I loved them, but it was hard being forced into a role you were never meant to play. I never had the chance to tell them why I rebelled against them so much when it came to appearance. They could never shape me the way they wanted me to look. When I was by myself with only Liz to support me I found out who I am, and thatβs itβs okay to be the way I am. Iβm not sure if my parents would share the same ideals.β
βAoi theyβre your parents, theyβll love you regardless.β Riku reached out to hold his hand, giving him silent comfort.
βI donβt believe Iβll ever find them to find out for sure. When I was young I asked around wherever I went about their group, with no results. It was like they justβ¦ vanished. I couldnβt find a single person who even had an idea of where this traveling group went. I was helped by a lot of strangers, but they just wanted to keep me as their new child. I ran off before anyone could get attached to me. Liz is my only family, and the oracle bead kept us tied together no matter where I went. Before my bead was shattered that isβ¦β Aoi played with the empty string dangling from his neck. He hadnβt found a placeholder to put there, and Riku knew that he hadnβt intended to. He had stolen a bead from Loz years ago, and was possibly planning on stealing Rikuβs. Thatβs must have been why he pushed to share a room with her. Asshole.
Despite this, Riku could understand where he was coming from. She missed her family dearly, and was determined to find them again one day once the mess clears up throughout the land. Once we defeat Eris. When the land is safe again. Rikuβs eyes flickered to Aoi as he took a breath before speaking again, still very softly barely audible, βIf theyβre out there theyβre not looking for a son. Theyβre looking for a daughter and thatβs not me.β
He didnβt meet Rikus eye, ears turning red and hot. Rikuβs eyes widened, but she didnβt say anything. It was definitely a surprise to her. This wasnβt something he addressed often, especially out loud. He liked to keep it under wraps. Sometimes more than literally. It had been years since he had addressed anything similar to this. Rikus hold on his hand tightened, giving him the support he needed to keep talking, βLiz is the one who raised me. Sheβs my parent. If I ever meet the traveling storytellers again I might try to meet them as a fan before I meet them as a son, if Iβm even theirs. I just canβt reveal this to every entertainer I meet out there.β
Riku smiled at Aoi, βYouβre hard not to like Aoi. No matter what Iβm sure theyβll love you.β Riku looked at him softly, βThank you for telling me this.β
Riku sat up and began to undo the knot that kept her bead around her neck. Aoi sat up and finally met her eye. He didnβt voice it, but the look in his eyes conveyed how thankful he was. He looked significantly more tired than he had looked minutes before.

This one is a bit that goes past when Aoi gets the oracle bead from Riku and separates from her group. Iβm still trying to find a good way to bring Ryo into the story and this is where I am in the thought process. Also - I write these out only because itβs easier to do it this way while Iβm still in the planning stage.
βAoi - Hey, β Cicilia tried to keep herself calm, but her friend was scaring her. Aoi appeared out of nowhere and asked her to drop everything and follow him. It wasnβt terribly out of character for the boy, but this time he sounded different. He almost sounded scared when he spoke. Now he was silent, rushing throughout the halls he had gotten to know well over the years. Even after knowing Aoi for so long there was still so much she didnβt know about him.
She kept pace with him trying to keep her face remaining calm even if she felt like anything but. Aoi was checking around every corner he turned, almost as if he was looking for someone. Was someone in the castle?? Cicilia grew more worried by the second. They were getting closer and closer to the exit that would lead to the back gardens. He was trying to get to a more secluded area. What is going on?
βWould you just stop for a minute β What is it that you wanted to tell me?β Cicilia tried to get him to stop, but Aoi kept his eyes ahead and kept walking. She followed him down the spiral staircase, not seeing anyone in the halls. Cicilia was glad she wasnβt in her gown today β It always got caught when rushing downstairs. She was in her riding outfit. Despite being the young Queen of the land she had a lot of freedom to do as she pleased. She got the feeling sheβll have to notify her advisers that sheβs going to be leaving again to help with whatever got Aoi worked up. Hopefully, itβs something good. Or at least, something to stop the attacks that have been happening to the East.
They were walking through the empty halls, and the only noise was the sound of their footsteps. Aoiβs loud and even. Ceciliaβs was lighter and faster. She just wasnβt able to catch up to him without looking frantic β and within the palace walls, she had to keep face. If something was bothering her it should only bother her in private when the staff wasnβt there to see. Even with the halls being empty at the moment she couldnβt let anything show until Aoi was done leading her to wherever they were going.
Cicilia knew how fortunate she was to have many trusted advisors and staff that would handle dividing her duties in the times that she has to leave. She has spent the last few years helping Aoi bring what little peace they could to her land. It was always small groups that they would manage to stop before another issue would pop up. It felt endless, but she knew that Aoi did what he could to find out more about who was out there trying to cause panic throughout the lands.
She followed Aoi out to the gardens. It was a beautiful day, but the sun looked like it was just about done being in the sky. It was getting late, and Cicilia would prefer to not stand outside and talk in the dark. βWhat is it Aoi? Whatβs going on that you had to drag me out here. Do you need me to leave with you?β
βI just wanted to make sure we were alone to talk to you.β
βWhy?β
βI didnβt want to be watched while I say goodbye.β
βGoodbye?β Cicilia was surprised but not hurt. She knew it wasnβt forever. Thatβs how their friendship worked. They were always there for each other despite being separated for long periods of time. Every time they met again it was like only a day had passed. This will be the same. But where is he going?
βFor a little bit. Hopefully. No - I promise I wonβt be gone long. I found out more about Eris β the woman who kidnapped Stella in Gulmit. Sheβs the one whoβs been tracking me. The one who sent the seekers after me for all these years. Iβm going to see what happens if I stop running and meet her face to face. Itβll be hard, but after my last meeting with a seeker, I get the feeling they donβt want to kill me. I think theyβve been trying to catch me.β Aoi looked so exhausted. Just then Cicilia noticed that he had two oracle beads on him. Where on did he find those? Itβs hard enough to find just one, but two..? She looked at the face of her best friend. He was serious. βI just left Riku and the others. She was hurt badly in the fight, but I was left unharmed. When we were attacked they had more than enough chances to take me down but they didnβt. I need to keep my distance from everyone, for now, to make sure no one else gets hurt.β
βLet me help.β
βOkay.β Aoi didnβt hesitate.
βWhat do you need me to do?β
βI need you to start rumors that Prince Ryo is alive.β
βExcuse me?β That shocked Cicilia to the core. As if lighting just went through her. She knew Ryo, they were playmates when they were younger during political meetings between their kingdoms. She grieved him when he was taken away from his kingdom. βWhy would I do that?β
βI have reason to believe heβs alive, and itβll keep most of Erisβ men away from her when I get captured. I wish there were a better distraction, but with the death of the princess we canβt use that. Itβsβ¦ itβs still too fresh. No one knows what happened to the prince, which makes him the perfect way to split up Erisβ work so theyβll be searching for a dead man.β
βAoi this will upset all the kingdoms, especially the grieving Queen of Gulmit.β Cicilia didnβt want to say no, but this was too much for her to do. It would set the whole kingdom in a state of unease just as they were starting to feel safe. The poor Queen of Gulmit would be forced to grieve both her children at the same timeβ¦
βI know. But Iβve tried to think of a better plan and I canβt. Pleaseβ¦ β the words I donβt want to get killed Β were left unspoken. This was a very risky move on Aoiβs part. He has been on the run on and off since he was still a teenager. This would be something that he possibly couldnβt escape from.
βHow did you get two oracle beads?β Cicilia changed the subject. She will try to find a way to gracefully announce that she believes that Ryo is still alive in the morning. Aoi knew the moment he suggested it that she would agree, even if she didnβt approve. It wasnβt right, but it would get the job done. It would possibly save Aoiβs life if he had to try to escape from Eris.
βDid you tell them what you were going to do and they just let you take them? Or did you steal them?β Cicilia continued. While Cicilia considered Aoi her closet friend, she knew that he tended to take what he needed when no one was looking. Early in their friendship she had him thrown in the dungeons for attempting to do the same to her. Luckily she took pity on the man who was only a few years younger than her.
βNo. I mean partially β I got one from Riku in exchange for information about me.β Aoi played with the beads while he spoke. That still didnβt explain the second one, but Cicilia was curious about this now.
βWho would want to know anything about you?β She smiled at him.
βOh shut up.β Aoi couldnβt hide his grin when he spoke.
βDonβt get mad cause I know all your secrets.β Cicilia was playful in her tone. Β βShe must like you a lot to give up something so valuable.β
βThat isnβt important,β Aoi replied with pink cheeks. βI mean, It β Itβs not important right now. We donβt have time to focus on things like that.β
βTrue. Will you need supplies before you go, or do you think itβll be more believable if you were captured eating your last loaf of bread?β Cicilia said half-joking. She was worried about this plan, but trusted Aoi. It may be a stupid plan, but the only person who could make it out alive would be Aoi. Heβs already been through so much and is still trying to make the world a better place.
βSupplies would be great. Not a lot youβre right that I wonβt get to use them all. I also need to find a spot between villages where no one will get caught in the crossfire since Iβll be taken to Erisβ current hideout possibly in the next few daysβ¦β Aoi didnβt want this to be harder than it already was going to be. He still needed to do a good amount of planning. He was scared, and his voice was shaky, but it was the only way he could get close to Eris and see how to take her down. Plus I could learn a lot more about her involvement in magic sickness. He had already seen Eris in person before, but this time would be different. It wasnβt going to be him fleeing from her in a failed village attack. He would be at her mercy.
He felt Cicilia place her hand on his shoulders and she spoke to him softly, βHey, you spaced out for a minute. Iβll get you what you need, but you will spend the night here. I want to see you out before you leave tomorrow. Okay?β
βYeah, that sounds good.β Aoi reached under Ciciliaβs arms to pull her into a tight hug. She wasnβt surprised and held him back tightly with her eyes squeezed shut. Please donβt get hurt. Donβt let anything go wrong. If it does then this will be the last time I see my best friend. Β Neither spoke as they embraced. The sky was full of hints of red and orange, getting darker. The two friends held on to each other until it was dark outside.
