Blaze is the son of a powerful weapons magnate, a man who valued business over family. After his mother died, his strict uncle — head of a major hospital — took over his upbringing, raising him under relentless discipline. Lessons, training, and art filled his days, with perfection demanded at every turn, turning his childhood into a constant test of endurance.
Blaze grew up in cold luxury: surrounded by servants, yet left emotionally alone. Wealth meant nothing to him; he often destroyed valuables in quiet rebellion against his father’s indifference.
This inner emptiness became both a weakness and a source of strength. At school, his intelligence and manipulative tendencies became apparent: he could spot people’s weaknesses, draw them into psychological games and debates, and take pleasure in the attention and power it brought him.
His looks are plain but expressive: pale hair and a piercing gaze. He often wears contact lenses, hiding his blue eyes — a symbol of a new mask, a new role he adopts in the moment.
Personality. He can be cold and ruthless, concealing vulnerability and a desire for recognition, but occasionally he shows rare glimpses of sincerity. To him, life is a game board, where every move is meant to strengthen his position, even if it requires sacrifice.
Strengths: sharp mind, strategic thinking, ability to read people, charisma, and courage.
Weaknesses: emotional emptiness, tendency to manipulate, impulsiveness in moments of vulnerability.
Ambitions: to prove his own significance, step out of his father’s shadow, make a name for himself, take control of his life, and gain independence and recognition.
(So… I made this … My Sims world was seriously lacking a bit of chaos and destruction. 😅🙄)
Below is a summary of many (but not all) of the plots which resulted in the events of today's thread. I want to thank every single writing and dash partner who has fed this plot in one way or another, and I can't wait to add in more people for the next book!
There's a TL;DR in the previously on channel.
Triggers: Torture mention; all other triggers are marked on the threads themselves.
The Beliefs
Eve Farran is a hunter who specialises in covering up supernatural secrets to keep humanity safe. The inevitable price of the secret is that sometimes people die because they’re out of the loop, but far more people are kept alive by the secret existing than are killed by it.
While she believes that supernatural beings are people, Eve believes that hunters exist to act as an evolutionary defense mechanism against supernatural predation no matter how they feel about the hunt — it is not their job to judge who deserves to live or die.
After becoming disabled, Eve gave up active hunting to avoid dying young and serve better from the backlines. To compensate for her choice, Eve has become increasingly intense in her commitment to the hunter cause over the past decade, and more judgemental/resentful of hunters who are less committed than she is.
Over the years, these beliefs have become the basis of Eve becoming excellent at repressing her emotions. As Eve has been in Wicked’s Rest, these beliefs have mostly been reinforced and become more extreme. Threads which reinforce and worsen Eve’s ideology are tagged “belief” in my writing page.
The Method
Eve covers up supernatural secrets by relying on people reporting supernatural events to her, ideally before they reach the media/social media. Historically, she has relied on other hunters to notify her of supernatural events. Eve became a social chameleon to meet people where they are, to get as many hunters as possible to cooperate with her (Jade, Daiyu, Owen, Emilio, as examples). Eve needs allies, and the best way to make allies is to make friends.
But in Wicked's Rest, there is so much happening all the time, and not all of it involves hunters. Eve realises that if she plays her cards right, she can build connections with supernatural beings, who will tell her about their activities (Metzli, Wyatt, Hazel, Vic, Mickey). This starts off small, with individual supernatural beings who don't kill often or only kill by accident, but Eve slowly realises that she can find out with far bigger things (through Los Sombras, or Augustine). Building trust means not reporting those activities, but surely other hunters would figure it out anyway, and Eve truly believes the lives she’s saving are global, not just in this small town.
You can find other threads tagged “method” where Eve cosies up to people to meet her goals, taking greater and greater risks.
The Ring
Like any good queer woman, Eve wears a number of basic rings on her fingers. While saving a spellcaster (hi Diego) from a withercap, Eve is caught by a blast of wild magic. Unbeknownst to either of them, that magic has turned one of Eve’s rings into a Ring of Intention. While any good warden knows not to make a wish out loud, the ring senses Eve’s internal intentions, and has felt cold every time that it was charged on Eve’s wishes or feelings.
The Charging of the Ring
Every time Eve has done something that feels wrong but fits within her narrative of what the right choice is for the greater good, or every time Eve has had to bury part of herself emotionally to maintain the “allies” that she’s friendly with, the ring has been charged.
Early on, she found it harder to suppress her disgust at the things she was being asked to cover up, and slowly trained herself to become more and more accepting of the horrors, not letting anyone know how they affected her. Even when Emilio kills a human, or Wyatt kills a hunter, all the way to covering up for Las Sombras. Each time, it feeds the ring.
Unwittingly, this becomes a self-enforcing cycle. It will work, and so it doesn't matter how uncomfortable Eve is about it. It doesn't matter how uncomfortable she is with it, so she can just swallow it and bury it within herself. She becomes desensitized, and the next escalation doesn't feel so impossible anymore. But at the same time, it has to be worth it, because otherwise she is just enabling terrible things. Eve allows herself to become desensitised, and so keeps ending up in more questionable situations.
As Eve becomes more comfortable with crossing other hunter lines, she also becomes more comfortable crossing warden lines, like collaborating with fae (Oliver), making deals with fae (Estella), and covering up warden murders by the faun Augustine.
And it pays off, eventually. When Eve makes a deal with Siobhan to find out when the blackout will start, she's able to warn other people. It’s worth it. Right? [thread incoming]
With each crossing of her own personal beliefs and feelings, in service of what Eve believes will help the secret, Eve represses her gut instincts. She spins the ring; it absorbs.
Every thread that charged the ring is tagged “charge”, and some dash interactions are tagged “stone”. (The latter was done as and when I remembered.)
Resentment of Other Hunters
Eve was always resentful of other hunters for not taking the secret seriously. Over the last year, this resentment has only grown to encompass all aspects of hunter duty. She even makes underhanded comments to Henri about the time he spends on his doctorate, and spends a lot of time wondering about Jade’s commitment to the cause when she’s also dating a fae. Eve perceives herself as constantly sacrificing for the hunter cause and for other hunters, and increasingly resents the other hunters for the sacrifices they refuse to make, and feels she has to pick up the “slack”. This is most exemplified in how she reacts to Daniel going back to Talia.
The Opposing Forces
Eve’s downfall has been slowed drastically by one simple force: love. (I mean it literally: look at this solo that I wrote to start Eve’s downfall back in the autumn.) Eve entered the RP relatively closed off, but while all of the above has been cooking, other characters have slowly been worming their way into her heart. This list includes but isn’t limited to:
Rosemary went from someone to sell evidence/spellcasting ingredients to to a friend
Xó becomes an increasingly close friend despite her knowledge of the SPN
Wyatt starts to become an almost-friend, despite the hunter murder
Metzli becomes a vampire that Eve will break her own rules for
Daiyu and Eve become closer with a shared secret
Daniel becomes a brother figure in all but blood
Eden becomes Eve’s closest “human” confidante
Jade and Eve agree to occasionally show each other the cards they hold close to their chest
Emilio perhaps knows Eve better than anyone else
Owen and Eve somehow repair the whole trying to kill each other thing
Mickey and Eve develop a soft friendship, although it is damaged by Estella
And of course, there’s Henri, who Eve slowly learns to bare her heart to, until she does something she thought she was not capable of: she falls in love.
This all culminates in the shitshow that was December.
When Jenny starts to die and Henri prioritises helping her instead of solving the problem the hunter way, Eve supports him. (No need to question whether hiding things from Jenny contributed to her ending up this way.)
Then Eve is kidnapped by Max, and tortured as a message to send to Emilio, who also loves her. While Eve buries herself in front of Max to manipulate the vampire, the only reason she survives is love: Rosemary’s made her a protection charm, Henri’s infodumping, Jade’s friendship and persistent hope, Emilio’s trust. And then after: Daiyu helping her clean up the evidence in the house, Owen removing the evidence in her shoulder, even Madison’s kindness.
Then, Henri loses his arm, and everyone rallies around Eve when all she wants is to pull away. Eve tries to focus on being a hunter, but her friends don’t let her: they see her as a person, and so she does, too. Eve lets herself have what she wants: friendship, love, comfort. Despite the many horrors, the ring is barely fed for weeks.
Threads which blocked the ring are tagged “heart”.
The Start of the Downfall
Owen dies. More importantly, Rosemary wants to resurrect him. Eve, who knows Owen well enough to know that he’d want to stay dead, objects strongly. Surely, in this situation, it should matter what he wants? But it doesn’t seem to: not to Wyatt or Rosemary. Trying to manipulate them, and then break into their homes, makes Eve lose both friendships fast. She asks Emilio for help, and he refuses. She finds out Jade is helping too, and Daiyu tricks her so that Daiyu doesn’t have to hurt Wyatt.
It barely seems to matter to anyone that Owen doesn’t want this. In caring about what Owen wants as a person, Eve loses multiple friendships. (It’s definitely not her methods that are the problem.) Somehow, Owen’s is the only one she doesn’t lose.
It’s a good reminder that hunters exist to serve humanity, not just themselves. Eve’s walls come back up, and she plays nice to preserve the connections she has left, even when Talia and Emilio plan to attack Daiyu.
The Catalysts: Bad Things Come in Threes
Emilio and Eve are hanging out, with the cloud of his involvement in the Daiyu attack hanging over Eve, when a slayer shows up to kill Emilio. Rowan accuses Eve of being soft in trying to protect Emilio. She has to choose: stay alongside Emilio, or keep her hunter loyalties. It’s a harder choice than it should be. Eve makes the choice she knows she should, and feels herself start to tear in pieces, torn between what she wants, and who she should be. It was a mistake, Eve decides, to let herself love Emilio.
Then, she finds out that Henri has been hunting other humans and hunters. It’s the one unforgivable thing a hunter can do, in Eve’s perspective, and it is an executable offense. But she realises she’s compromised here: she loves him so much that she can’t kill him, not yet. Henri has corrupted her. Worse, he’s found out about her dealings with the supernatural, and he doesn’t understand. He can’t grasp that when everyone is a person, personhood doesn’t matter anymore. Hunting has always been a numbers game in humanity’s survival, and Eve’s whistling is playing the long game. When Henri begs her to reconsider, Eve feels herself splitting even further: the part of her that loves him and wants to fix this, and the part of her that knows she is right and can see how much loving him has broken her.
Finally, Wyatt comes after Eve for her actions during Owen’s resurrection, and almost kills her. Eve cracks, realising how few people around her she trusts anymore, because she resents all of her hunter friends, doesn’t trust her friends or family to have her back, and is afraid that if they see her the way Henri does, they won’t want to be here anymore. Wyatt almost splits her in half literally, but also emotionally.
When Mickey comes to patch her up, Eve tries to be personable, to mend that broken relationship too. Mickey softens up towards her, and the two almost have a human moment of connection again. Eve lets herself want, just one last time, even though she knows this is how she ended up in this mess in the first place.
The Ring Activates
Eve and Rosemary meet as Eve is quite literally falling apart. Confronted by someone she lost as a friend and a valuable connection, the last part of Eve splits, as she can’t decide whether to ignore Rosemary, beg for her friendship despite everything, or to play the cards that Eve used to play so well to build new connections.
Her self-isolation is complete, her commitment to the Secret, and to the humans it protects, is absolute. It is not her methods that are flawed, it is her desires.
Many hunters believe the supernatural aren’t people. Eve wishes that hunters (especially her) weren’t. The ring is fully charged with Eve's intentions, and removes the part of Eve that she struggles with the most: her heart.
What Now?
Eve has no capacity for emotions anymore. Those include the ones she perceives to be compromising her: love, guilt, disgust, shame, grief, but also other ones like hope, compassion, determination. She is still an excellent liar and manipulator, so, to a degree, she knows how to behave like she still has them, although we’ll see how far that goes, as she just doesn’t care about certain things anymore. Eve doesn’t understand what has happened yet, but right now she doesn’t see it as a bad thing.
I’m sure there are no weaknesses to be found with not having emotions.
As of now, I have no plans left. While every character (including those not included in this summary) have impacted Eve’s arc, now it’s all completely up in the air. What happens to Eve is completely guided by how other characters react to this, and I’m down for everything and anything, including the complete free flow of information between characters about anything and everything.
Meet Elise Torres, one of the protagonists of Crime Spouses!
Elise Alexandra Torres was born on October 30th, 1971. She is a Scorpio.
Her family was solidly middle class and happy. She had a younger brother and sister; they were twins. She was five years older than them and she had just turned fifteen when they died.
After her entire family was killed, Elise had to grow up really fast. She was taken in by an extended uncle of hers, Great Uncle Armando Torres. He’s on the run, not from the law but from someone else with a massive reach and network. Essentially, he says, “Okay, kid, you’re on your own from here,” and dips. Elise goes directly into working, because her uncle can only afford to send her so much money before he gets found. She works a ton of odd jobs but eventually begins working in a strip club because she’s still underage and they don’t check.
She gets into stealing, first it’s small things but then it grows. Her plans get more elaborate and she finds people that are willing to play pawns. She eventually becomes the leader of a heist gangs nd begins investing in smaller operations as well. After a while she understands that she needs to find somewhere to set up a permanent base and launder her money.
“El Toro Tortilla” is her first restaurant, in a way. It’s the place that she first found, broken down, and falling apart when she first moved to San Bernard. It’s a small Colorado town, falling apart at the seams, but she likes it. It’ll serve her purposes. She begins to pump money into the town as she brings not only her stolen goods, but also previously stated pawns. She likes a couple of them, dumb as rocks though they may be, but she hires a lot of “out-of-work” people who are either immigrants, people of color, or openly queer. She figures, if they’re more grateful for the job, they’re less likely to betray her later. Also, they’re easier to disappear if they ever do betray her.
She doesn’t like the idea of betrayal, of course, but she can’t run the risk of trusting that someone won’t. She isn’t built to operate like that. To her, everything is a competition, everything is a chance to screw someone over or to come out on top.
We have a lot of new-ish faces in this part of my story, and that’s because we’re getting to know Atlas, Asher, and Lex’s friend group! They’re all going to be sticking around for a bit, whether they’ll be background characters or take on more important roles remains to be seen. Either way, I thought it would be a good idea to take a minute to officially introduce them all and tell you how they all know each other.
Now, I say “new-ish” faces because all of these characters were in The Past arc in the last part of my story. Some of them had dialogue, but most were just milling about in the background. The important thing to know is that they’ve all been friends for years and have become a pretty tight-knit little group.
If you'd like to know more about each of them, then proceed below the cut:
Traits: Genius, Geek, Creative, Perfectionist, Outgoing, Morning Sim
Personality Archetypes: Sage & Artist
Career: Video Game Level Designer at Rainy Day Entertainment
Important Details: Evan is probably the most recognizable atp. They were one of the first people Asher met on his first day at Rainy Day, and the two of them have worked closely ever since. They have amazing compatibility and have developed a pretty close friendship over the years.
As far as the rest of the group, Evan has known them since they started at Rainy Day about a year before Asher did. The only one they knew prior to that is Charlee.
They tend to get stuck in the details, but it makes them very good at what they do.
They’re extroverted and very sweet, but often clueless when it comes to certain social cues.
It’s nearly impossible for them to hide what they’re thinking or feeling, which can be either annoying or refreshing depending on the situation.
Preferred Name/Nickname(s): Charlee, Peanut (inside joke – only Evan calls her this)
Gender/Pronouns: Cis woman, She/Her
Sexuality: Bisexual
Traits: Good, Geek, Bookworm, Vegetarian, Goofball
Personality Archetypes: Sage & Jester
Career: Manages a local bookstore
Important Details: Often found with her nose buried in a sci-fi book, or on the computer going down random rabbit holes about some conspiracy theory or another.
Absolutely believes in aliens, ghosts, vampires, and time travel.
Full of useless facts, puns, and pranks.
Charlee grew up next door to Evan, and the two of them have been best friends since childhood. However, she didn’t meet anyone else until the day she met Blaire. At the time, she had just started working part-time at the bookstore and Blair was visiting while on a book tour. The two unexpectedly hit it off, and Charlee was later introduced to Lex and Tess… only to find out that Lex worked with her best friend! And the rest is history.
Important Details: In the middle of a long series of mystery novels and becoming quite famous. When she’s not writing, Blair has a passion for dancing and kick boxing. She is blunt and flirtatious and would do literally anything for her friends and family. She lost a sibling unexpectedly at twenty years old, and it changed her entire outlook on life. She’s regularly championing for her friends to follow their dreams (including Atlas and Asher), and she’s the first person most of them are likely to call if they’re ever in trouble.
Blair used to date Tess and is currently dating Lex. She met Lex at a queer speed dating event when she first moved to San Myshuno. They didn’t hit it off romantically at first and remained just friends until a few years ago.
Traits: Art Lover, Creative, Perfectionist, Neat, Loyal
Personality Archetypes: Artist & Caregiver
Career: Financial Analyst for a big corporation in Uptown (fun fact: the same corporation Dawn worked at when she first met Phoenix)
Important Details: Tess is good at her job, but she hates it. She has a passion for photography, and Blair is constantly trying to talk her into taking the leap to open her own studio, but she’s afraid of letting go of the perceived stability/security that comes with her corporate job. Maybe she’ll do it one day, but today is not that day.
Tess and Blair used to date, but they quickly realized it wasn’t going to work out since Tess prefers exclusive romantic relationships, and Blair very much does not. However, the two have remained very good friends. Through Blair, she met Lex and the rest of the Rainy Day crew.
Preferred Name/Nickname(s): Jensen or Jay, Jenny (Ash is the only person that gets away with calling him this)
Gender/Pronouns: Cis man, He/Him
Sexuality: Bisexual
Traits: Outgoing, Geek, ADHD, Loyal, Music Lover, Gregarious
Personality Archetypes: Jester & Lover
Career: Video Game Developer at Rainy Day Entertainment (will likely be promoted to replace Atlas as Lead Developer)
Important Details: Jensen is only one in the group that was friends with Atlas before anyone else. The two of them have worked side-by-side for nearly ten years… though both of them are usually wearing headphones… but they do chat a fair amount and are pretty good friends.
Jensen is super laid back and can get along with pretty much anyone. Once Lex and Evan started inviting him out with the group, he clicked with everyone else instantly.
Aside from Atlas, he gets along most with Charlee, Blair, and Kamryn… and apparently, he’s hooking up with Charlee now… I didn’t see that coming, but I love that for them.
Preferred Name/Nickname(s): Kamryn, Kam
Gender/Pronouns: Cis woman, She/Her
Sexuality: Pansexual
Traits: Self-Assured, High Maintenance, Music Lover, Dog Lover, Materialistic, Night Owl
Personality Archetypes: Hero & Sinister (interesting combo ??)
Career: Video Game Character Design and Animation at Rainy Day Entertainment
Important Details: While she enjoys her job, Kamryn’s passion is music. She produces House music and DJ’s regularly at various local and out-of-town clubs.
Blair and her often butt heads on whether she should leave her job to pursue music full-time. From Kam’s perspective, her day job pays the bills and allows her to make the music she wants to make, the way she wants to make it, without the pressure of needing to make money from it.
When she met Ash, she was so happy to finally meet another Dog Lover! They’re always talking about their dogs and sharing photos. Maybe when Ash gets another dog, one that actually lives with him in the city, they can take their dogs on play dates!
Traits: Creative, Loves the Outdoors, Foodie, Vegetarian, Cheerful, Observant, Mediator, Compassionate, Morning Sim
Personality Archetypes: Artist & Jester
Career: Video Game Architect at Rainy Day Entertainment
Important Details: Aubree is amazing!!! Next to Atlas, she’s the most introverted of the group. She’s one of those people that is really quiet, she just kinda sits back and listens, but then when she speaks, she says the most insightful things.
She hates conflict and avoids it at all costs, but she’s great helping others navigate it and find a middle ground. She has a unique ability to see and understand others’ perspectives and is usually the first person everyone wants to come to for advice.
Lex has adored her since she first met her, and immediately befriended her. It took her a while to feel comfortable with the group, but now they’re all like family to her.
Her and Atlas are interesting together... I feel like if he opened up to her, she'd have great advice for him... but they rarely talk. In fact, what he likes most about her is that she's one of the few people willing to just sit in comfortable silence... and vice versa.
I just want to show off this STUNNING artwork of my original character, Dahlia Bodea, from the massively talented artist @levitonin. It has been such a pleasure working with them and I'm so grateful and happy that they were able to bring this chaos gremlin to life 😭
Dahlia Bodea is the main romantic lead alongside Levi Ackerman in my Attack on Titan fanfic, The Quiet After The World Fell.
If you've been following the story, and are curious about her, here's a little summary of this bundle of joy:
Dahlia Bodea’s life is one of survival, transformation, and unyielding spirit. She was born in the quiet north western lands of Marley and was raised in a home full of music, love, and the teachings of Eldian elders. Her childhood was one of joy, surrounded by a strong sense of culture and community. However, the world she knew was torn apart by the ravages of war, and the loss of everything she held dear set her on a path of survival that would forever shape her.
Dahlia is a striking woman standing at 5'1". She is 33 years old. She has sharp cheekbones, golden waving hair, and intense green eyes. She carries herself with quiet grace. Don't let her short stature fool you, however. Her body, honed through years of travel and dance, radiates both strength and endurance.
She grew up in a tight-knit family in the northern regions near the base of the mountain span. Dahlia’s world was once peaceful. Her father was a gifted musician, her mother a kind and quiet teacher, her grandmother was the village healer and story keeper, and her elder brother, Johannes, was a teenage school boy, living every day like it was his last.
Tragedy struck when Dahlia lost her family to the horrors of war. With all of her family gone, and her world crumbling, she found herself alone and forced to survive. She wandered from place to place, doing whatever she could to stay alive, until she found Dominic Roark and Puck Danaan. They become Dahlia's family through and through. With them, Dahlia found love, support, and a sense of belonging.
Dahlia’s cultural heritage is one of music, storytelling, and deep-rooted traditions. She learned to play multiple instruments, and the fiddle ended up becoming her favorite, and her staple. Music was more than just a form of expression for Dahlia. It was a way to connect with her heritage and her lost loved ones. The melodies she plays are infused with the grief of her past, but also a fierce hope and joy for the budding future.
She is fluent in the old original language of Eldia (Gaelic for context purposes), and has picked up bits and bobs of other languages in her travels with the troupe. Her Eldian roots are important to her, though she often carries them in silence due to the Marleyan political climate. Dahlia’s history is one of both pride and pain, and while she doesn’t openly discuss it, it’s something that quietly shapes her every decision and relationship.
Dahlia’s defining qualities are her resilience and fierce independence. Having survived so much, she does not bend in the face of adversity. Her inner strength is what drives her, and it’s this unshakable will that helps her adapt and thrive, even when the world seems at its darkest. She’s not afraid to stand up for herself, and she never hesitates to help those in need, even if it means putting herself at risk. Her loyalty and determination make her an invaluable ally and a force to be reckoned with.
Thank you so much for reading ❤️ If you want to see more of Dahlia, please read and tune in for future updates of The Quiet After The World Fell 🌟
